Both the New York Times and the Washington Post are major war-mongering outfits. Both want the US to militarily dominate the planet so our trade rivals can destroy our domestic economy. This means, both are not patriotic papers but treasonous outfits. They do fret occasionally about our red ink but not enough to curb our madcap wars against the natives of many, many distant lands. Nor are they driven to talk much about the bizarre situation where the top economic/trade powers on earth are contributing virtually nothing towards defending themselves, leaning instead, on the US to do this chore.
And for us to pay for all of this via loans given to us by these same leeches. And then there is Israel: many of our wars today are directly tied to Israel’s desire to make a state for Jews only…Jews born ONLY of Jewish women, not men….this antic ethnic cleansing game is riling billions of people into opposing us in every way possible. And we are supposed to fight them all, across the entire planet, all the time. We are NOT fighting armies, we are fighting PEOPLE who are makeshift revolutionary militias comprised nearly totally of civilians. And this is rapidly bankrupting the US. We have little time left to dump this business and concentrate on fixing our broken economy and our nation that is always on the verge of falling apart along ethnic and religious lines.

Editorial – A Military for a Dangerous New World – NYTimes.com
To protect the nation, the Obama administration will have to rebuild and significantly reshape the military. We do not minimize the difficulty of this task. Even if money were limitless, planning is extraordinarily difficult in a world with no single enemy and many dangers.
The United States and its NATO allies must be able to defeat the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan — and keep pursuing Al Qaeda forces around the world. Pentagon planners must weigh the potential threats posed by Iran’s nuclear ambitions, an erratic North Korea, a rising China, an assertive Russia and a raft of unstable countries like Somalia and nuclear-armed Pakistan. And they must have sufficient troops, ships and planes to reassure allies in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
The goal is a military that is large enough and mobile enough to deter enemies. There must be no more ill-founded wars of choice like the one in Iraq. The next president must be far more willing to solve problems with creative and sustained diplomacy.
But this country must also be prepared to fight if needed. To build an effective military the next president must make some fundamental changes.
The other day, the entire planet outside of the United States, was running the story about the elite troops in Israel, all of whom are Jews, terrorizing Palestinian civilians. Torturing and mocking their captive civilian, this was all caught on tape.
Due to the US being captive to organizations that completely prevent anyone from seeing or hearing of Jews abusing their neighbors. Every day, the Israeli Jewish dream of ruling the Holy Land is turning into an unholy mess that is roiling the entire planet. The entire reason we are fighting the al Qaeda phantom organizations is due to this mess. Which the US public cannot judge with any sanity due to the heavy hand of nearly total censorship that rules here in the US.
Here we are, going down the tubes due to the gigantic overhang of military spending coupled with global obligations drowning us in red ink. The security of any nation is ill-served if it is bought with deepening debt. No sane nation dares to try to control the entire planet while having uncontrolled spending at home.
Unable to tax people today to pay for our military battles across the entire planet as we irritate billions of people, we are paying for all this by destroying our sovereignty at home as well as asking dire economic and political rivals to fund our military for us. Even as these alien powers itch to bring us down. This sort of childish militarism coupled with irresponsible spending coupled with going to obvious future enemies for funds cannot go on forever.
But the New York Times wants this to go on forever and ever.
*Editorial – A Military for a Dangerous New World – NYTimes.com
More rational spending: What we are calling for will be expensive. Adding 92,000 ground troops will cost more than $100 billion over the next six years, and maintaining lift capacity will cost billions more. Much of the savings from withdrawing troops from Iraq will have to be devoted to repairing and rebuilding the force.
Money must be spent more wisely. If the Pentagon continues buying expensive weapons systems more suited for the cold war, it will be impossible to invest in the armaments and talents needed to prevail in the future.
There are savings to be found — by slowing or eliminating production of hugely expensive aerial combat fighters (like the F-22, which has not been used in the two current wars) and mid-ocean fighting ships with no likely near-term use. The Pentagon plans to spend $10 billion next year on an untested missile defense system in Alaska and Europe. Mr. Obama should halt deployment and devote a fraction of that budget to continued research until there is a guarantee that the system will work.
The Pentagon’s procurement system must be fixed. Dozens of the most costly weapons program are billions of dollars over budget and years behind schedule.
The owners of the New York Times see nothing wrong with us sending mercenary troops to fight Muslims across the entire planet. Why not? They aren’t paying for this. Nor is Israel, the biggest recipient of US largess. See how the New York Times, desperate to shove us into even more land wars with angry Muslim tribes who are all civilians, not armies! They want us to deindustrialize the military/industrial complex and reduce it all to mere ground troops who get to patrol all the Muslim states.
This exogenous police force will be paid for by the US taxpayers going to the OPEC princes or the Japanese Samurai or the Chinese Dragon for money to pay for this patrolling of irritated tribes. This way, no Muslim despot or Jewish nationalist has to do a thing but sit back and watch the US bleed to death, fighting off the tide of history. For history is dead-set against us succeeding in suppressing the Muslims. They are having too many children.
*Chronic malnutrition in Gaza blamed on Israel – Middle East, World – The Independent
The Israeli blockade of Gaza has led to a steady rise in chronic malnutrition among the 1.5 million people living in the strip, according to a leaked report from the Red Cross.
It chronicles the “devastating” effect of the siege that Israel imposed after Hamas seized control in June 2007 and notes that the dramatic fall in living standards has triggered a shift in diet that will damage the long-term health of those living in Gaza and has led to alarming deficiencies in iron, vitamin A and vitamin D.
The 46-page report from the International Committee of the Red Cross – seen by The Independent – is the most authoritative yet on the impact that Israel’s closure of crossings to commercial goods has had on Gazan families and their diets.
The report says the heavy restrictions on all major sectors of Gaza’s economy, compounded by a cost of living increase of at least 40 per cent, is causing “progressive deterioration in food security for up to 70 per cent of Gaza’s population”. That in turn is forcing people to cut household expenditures down to “survival levels”.
Like all populations under suppression and invasion, the Palestinians have one of the highest birth rates on earth. The Jewish invaders have sought to suck in as many ‘Jews’ as humanly possible to counterbalance this simple fighting technique. But outside of the Hasidim and some Orthodox groups, the birth rate in the Jewish community is floundering nearly as badly as the Japanese reproductive rates. So due to sheer population growth, the Palestinians will eventually swamp the Jews.
So the ultimate nasty tool of ethnic control/domination are being activated. No sane person looking at this horror can avoid remembering a nearly-identical situation not all that many years ago:
*April 19, 1943 – Waffen SS Attacks Jewish Resistance in Warsaw
The Nazis invaded Poland in September of 1939. By October of 1940, they had confined nearly 400,000 Jews in a 3.5 square mile area of Warsaw which normally housed about 160,000. The area was surrounded by a wall 10 feet high and was sealed off on November 15, 1940. Jews were forbidden to go outside the area on penalty of being shot on sight. No contact with the outside world was allowed.
Hans Frank, the Nazi Gauleiter (governor) of occupied Poland, declared in 1941, “I ask nothing of the Jews except that they should disappear.”
Thus the Nazis refused to allow enough food into the ghetto to keep the Jews healthy, forcing them to survive on a bowl of soup a day. Soon, 300 to 400 persons died each day in the ghetto from starvation and disease. By July of 1942, about 80,000 Jews had perished.
On July 22, 1942, the SS, on orders from Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler, began a massive “resettlement” of the Jews, taking them out of the ghetto to extermination camps (mainly Treblinka) where they were to be gassed. The Jewish Council in the ghetto was ordered to deliver 6000 persons a day for deportation. In just two months, a total of 310,322 Jews were sent to their deaths in Nazi extermination camps. By the end of September only 60,000 Jews remained.
In January of 1943, Himmler ordered the SS to remove the remaining 60,000 Jews from the ghetto by February 15.
However, the remaining Jews knew by now that deportation meant death and chose to resist. A Jewish Fighting Organization, ZOB, had been formed, consisting of 22 groups, each having 20 to 30 men, boys and some women. The group had sent desperate appeals for weapons to anti-Nazi Poles outside the ghetto and were supplied with enough weapons to successfully resist deportation by attacking from rooftops, cellars and attics. As a result, 20 Germans were killed and 50 wounded.
The Jewish resistance, combined with the severe winter weather and a shortage of trains, prevented the SS from meeting Himmler’s February deadline.
In the spring, Himmler ordered the SS to conduct a “special action” against the Jews that would clear out the entire ghetto in just three days. By now, the size of the ghetto had been reduced to an area measuring only 1,000 yards by 300 yards.
The Jews, themselves, recognize this. Some of the leadership even talked cynically and cruelly about putting Palestinian children ‘on a diet’. And the UN has suspended feeding this captive population that is forbidden to fish or to farm. Hitler, like the Zionists, had demanded that someone, anyone, take up all the Jews in Europe. There were no takers. The US even closed our borders to refugees.
So the Final Solution was launched. I hear, over and over, from people who have little to gain by forcibly displacing millions of innocent civilians, ‘Why can’t they all go somewhere else?’ When I suggest these poor victims of ethnic cleansing be given a brand new country in say, Southern California from Santa Barbara to San Diego, people get angry. Obviously, that is not a good idea.
Like the Nazis, everyone wants these pesky people moved somewhere else. Hitler suggested Madagascar off the east coast of Africa. Of course, that place already has people. In the case of the Palestinians, they are to move to some ‘Muslim’ nation. But this is totally unfair for everyone, of course. Since giving them back their own homes is obviously very simple. The Jews coming into Palestine had homes elsewhere! But some didn’t like it. Few were ejected. The ones that were ejected were often those who were living with no terrible problems in places like Africa or other parts of the Middle East, for over a thousand years.
With the invasion and attacks that came in the wake of the British dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire, all this broke down. Many Jewish communities were ethnically cleansed. But this was not the fault of the Palestinians. They had nothing to do with this. It was the natural reaction to the destruction of the Jewish/Muslim/Christian complex of the Holy Land being violated by one of the three major religions there.
Al Qaeda and all the other revolutionary groups that spring up and cause chaos are due to this whole business. The US should not be enabling, paying for, supporting and justifying the crimes being committed against the Palestinian people. We hope to starve them to death, to beat them into the hard earth, and then wipe our hands of the blood and announce, ‘The Holy Land is now ours. We are the planetary rulers. We get to decide the destiny of all humans!’
Only, Destiny is sharpening its scythe and will swing at us.
*Iraqi Cabinet approves security pact with US – washingtonpost.com
Iraq’s Cabinet on Sunday approved a security pact with the United States that will allow American forces to stay in Iraq for three years after their U.N. mandate expires at the end of the year, the government said.
The decision followed months of difficult negotiations and, pending parliamentary approval, will remove a major point of contention between the two allies.
The ethnic cleansing in Iraq is nearly done. Now, all parties need the US to be there to be the whipping dog, to bear the brunt of the mess. We will patrol while being spat upon. We will hang out there while everyone plots to take whatever they can. This is not a friendly situation. This is everyone using the US as a tool as they prepare for the next rounds.
Exhausted by 30 years of warfare and messes, Iraq can now regroup. The youth there absolutely despise the US presence and itch to take revenge. The elders are finally figuring out the method for destroying American power. They see Japan doing this, they see the whole world slowly shoving the US empire off the cliff. They are proud that they will be one of the chief causes of our collapse. So keeping us stuck there, misspending money we can’t afford, is great for them.
And what do we gain? We get to watch helplessly as the Chinese move in to take over everything, step by step. This is thanks to ‘free trade’. We are not opening stores there or building systems. The Chinese will end up doing this. And the lunacy of building stuff in Iraq while America burns to the ground is another irony. Now, on to the Washington Post:
*Experts Warn of Security Risks in Financial Downturn – washingtonpost.com
Intelligence officials are warning that the deepening global financial crisis could weaken fragile governments in the world’s most dangerous areas and undermine the ability of the United States and its allies to respond to a new wave of security threats.
U.S. government officials and private analysts say the economic turmoil has heightened the short-term risk of a terrorist attack, as radical groups probe for weakening border protections and new gaps in defenses. A protracted financial crisis could threaten the survival of friendly regimes from Pakistan to the Middle East while forcing Western nations to cut spending on defense, intelligence and foreign aid, the sources said.
The crisis could also accelerate the shift to a more Asia-centric globe, as rising powers such as China gain more leverage over international financial institutions and greater influence in world capitals.
Some of the more troubling and immediate scenarios analysts are weighing involve nuclear-armed Pakistan, which already was being battered by inflation and unemployment before the global financial tsunami hit. Since September, Pakistan has seen its national currency devalued and its hard-currency reserves nearly wiped out….
“Al-Qaeda’s propaganda arm is constantly banging the drum saying that the U.S. economy is on the precipice — and it’s the force of the jihadists that’s going to push us over the edge,” said Bruce Hoffman, a former scholar-in-residence at the CIA and now a professor at Georgetown University.Whether terrorist leader Osama bin Laden is technically capable of another Sept. 11-style attack is unclear, but U.S. officials say he has traditionally picked times of transition to launch major strikes. The two major al-Qaeda-linked attacks on U.S. soil — the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 and the 2001 hijackings — occurred in the early months of new administrations.
There are many people who would dearly love to believe that al Qaeda never existed. This is a folly. From day one, bin Laden correctly decided that what killed Russia was their attempt at controlling Muslim lands while going bankrupt. Russia was rapidly being deindustrialized as the communist model floundered on the reality that private enterprise works more efficiently to produce consumer goods. Russia was great at producing military/industrial goods. Exactly like the US today.
The rulers of much of this planet would dearly love to have the US, which realistically has virtually no reason, to do all the physical fighting against this elusive but potent revolutionary. It doesn’t matter if the person is named ‘bin Laden’ or is some anonymous peasant deep in the mountains of Asia Minor. The fact remains, there will be a billion bin Ladens if we continue our present foreign policy.
*Experts Warn of Security Risks in Financial Downturn – washingtonpost.com
China already was on track to surpass the United States as the world’s largest economy, perhaps as early as 2030. Now, many experts believe the global recession could help it do so faster.
The implications are enormous for the global economy and for international security, Keidel said.
“If we have a long recession and China catapults itself forward with double-digit growth, those timelines move forward,” he said.
China could quickly outpace the United States to become the world’s influential economy, while also competing in other areas long dominated by Americans. Even if China chooses to keep its military growth on a modest pace, the country will become a significant competitor in key areas such as space exploration, several experts said.
“It’s not about China moving up the ladder as much as it’s about us tripping and falling down the ladder,” said Derek Scissors, an Asia specialist at the Heritage Foundation, a Washington think tank.
HAHAHA. The Chinese 50 year plan strikes again! 2030 is Year 45 of the 50 Year Plan. What is particularly funny here is that the people talking about this obvious outcome are part of an organization that is very deeply involved in driving the US economy and diplomacy right off this very cliff they are now warning us about!
*Heritage Foundation – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the 1980s and early 1990s, the Heritage Foundation was a key architect and advocate of the “Reagan Doctrine”, under which the United States government supported anti-Communist resistance movements in such places as Afghanistan, Angola, Cambodia and Nicaragua and generally supported global anti-communism during the Cold War. Heritage foreign policy analysts also provided policy guidance to these rebel forces and to dissidents in Eastern bloc nations and Soviet republics.
The foundation was instrumental in advancing President Ronald Reagan’s belief that the former Soviet Union was an “evil empire” and that its defeat, not its mere containment, was a realistic foreign policy objective. Heritage also played a key role in building support for Reagan’s plans to build an orbital ballistic missile shield, known as the “Strategic Defense Initiative”, or more popularly, “Star Wars.”
Since the end of the Cold War, Heritage has continued to be an active voice in foreign affairs and has been generally supportive of President George W. Bush’s foreign policies. In domestic policy, Heritage is a proponent of supply-side economics, which holds that reductions in the marginal rate of taxation can spur economic growth.
In 1994, Heritage advised Newt Gingrich and other conservatives on the development of the “Contract with America”, which was credited with helping to produce a Republican majority in Congress. The “Contract” was a pact of principles that directly challenged both the political status-quo in Washington and many of the ideas at the heart of the Clinton administration. As such, Heritage is often credited with supplying many of the ideas that ultimately proved influential in ending the Democrats’ control of Congress in 1994.
These guys belong in jail, not being interviewed in this goofy Washington Post article. How dare the Post go to these criminals for analysis! These are the clowns who took out a contract on America and used it to destroy our economy, our global power and to hand us over to foreign domination. It is exactly due to these same neocons that we are losing economic and political power. They are traitors.

Obama Says U.S. Will Do `Whatever It Takes’ to Revive Economy (Bloomberg)
“President-elect Barack Obama said the U.S. government will do “whatever it takes” to revive the economy, and that means “we shouldn’t worry about the deficit next year or even the year after.”
Yeah! Why worry about the fact that the country’s economy is going down the toilet and millions are already unmployed? So no matter what it takes, bailout everything! Spend wads of casino toilet paper. Hell, we’ll just print more. Deficits? We don’t need to worry about no stinking deficits! They only reflect the fact that the country has no money. Who needs to think about that? That’s no fun.
It’s why I call him “Owe-bama”.

Wow, from ’shock and awe’ to ’shock and disbelief’ in the space of just 5 years! It shows what happens when citizens leave their politicians unsupervised. Has USA become the Soviet Union of the western hemisphere?
Elaine’s analysis is spot on. But given the choice between USA and China, most of the world would still prefer USA-but not as a bully on clay feet, but as an example and hope for us all.

neocons are mostly conservatives who were once trotskyists. Trotsky believed in spreading socialism by military means. This usage of military power by the US has I think a deep idealistic element because of that. It is about spreading democracy instead of socialism. And this is also connected some how to the ideas of globalisation in all parts of human life by marxist and christian doctrine. Globalisation of economic systems and globalisation of culture. The capitalists benefit from the first while the leftist elites benifits from the second in seeing a world without differences between races, between religions , between sexes. The neo cons are the marriage of radical Left and radical Right elements left over from the political battles of the Thatcher years.
November 17, 2008 at 10:40 am
Its like all of western philosophy from judeo christianity to marxism to facism to cultural marxism has had an orgiastic love child together that is wantonly throtling itself to death on the world stage.
The outcome of this is nobody can really believe in anything any more. Its interesting that while none of these theories can ever be a complete solution their aggregation has led to disaster. We no longer have a choice there are 2 major political parties found through out the western world with the same stupid policies.
We have lost all the benefits of true liberalism protection from tyranny and working class socialism protection from class warfare.
Poor America is paying for the quest of idealistic global Utopia with blood and taxes. America is the Dan Quixotte charging oil drilling stations for glory and protecting the honor of the noble Jewcinea. Next to him rides Sancho Brown. The world laughs at them. The only thing that will happen is that a few opportunistic and powerlful people will become even more powerful while Dan Quixotte and Sancho Brown become sick and weak.

They say the heart is the first to grow in a fetus. I suppose when healthy and fortunate, it is the last to turn out the lights in the end with a final beat. What sustanance!
Even when going without sleep I feel reenergized at sunrise. I should thank my lucky Star everyday. What sustanance!
I have wondered about how to sustain the Heart like our Sun sustains me. With heartfelt thanks I suppose. With a slight edge mentality that says every little thing I do matters. I just need a plan to start. As nature shows, the brain and heart working in concert is most sustainable.
Investors are being tempted to reach towards chocolate loans, use empty calories to pick over toxic CDOs, and hope to digest for the best. Never one to sit on a toilet and stare at economic tragedies with glee as if detached, I’ll help create different realisms. I am using my own capital, saving, and staying out of debt. I’ll describe my experiences for others too. There are larger cycles at play of course, and it may be tedious without OPM or leverage, but the slow and steady have won races for turtles.
November 17, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Yes, the ants win over the grasshoppers and the turtles beat the hares.
The evolution of our empire is history. It matters, how it rose and how it is obviously falling. One can’t take much glee in all this. But on the other hand, the neocons who made this inevitable deserve punishment.
About socialism: the countries beating our brains out are NOT ‘pure capitalist’ at all. They are all socialists. All, to a greater degree than the US. Anyone who imagines we will be set free to be great by running off and letting ‘pure capitalism’ take over are fooling themselves with romantic fairy tales like the pathetic Ayn Rand books.
Social services and social unity always beats the sort of ‘capitalism’ we see today in the Deep South. The Deep South only has jobs due to the tide of outsourcing using them as a way station as things move to cheaper labor markets.
Surprisingly, most of these ‘cheaper markets’ are actually in SOCIALIST OR COMMUNIST STATES. This is because the corporations don’t have to support the worker’s auxiliary needs! Duh! In places with little to no social services, labor is too violent or the workers are physically weakened by lack of health care, etc.
The US must compete with our top competitors. We must study them and imitate them. Not go off, imitating third world nations that have no socialism.

Americans uneasy over bailout for automakers (Reuters)
- and so they should be….
“As Congress debates legislation to help struggling automakers on Monday, many Americans said they were uneasy with the plan, arguing that while it may save jobs, it would reward companies for pursuing bad business practices.
In interviews from New York to Los Angeles, everyday Americans said the proposed $25 billion rescue plan was unfair and said it would make it harder to reform U.S. automakers.
“They need to restructure. If they get bailed out they are not going to do it,” said Eric Smith, a paint contractor interviewed in Chamblee, Georgia, on the outskirts of Atlanta.”
