California, Jets, Cars, Former Ruling Families Crash News

A medley of stories this afternoon.  Normally, I go outside and do backhoe work or use the chain saw because I am building two roads here.  But it has been pouring cats and dogs and even deer, this last 24 hours!  What a mess.  California is now broken and a mess.  No surprise.  The BBC found the impoverished spawn of the former rulers of India, the Mogul Dynasty.  The Washington Post head editor wants to sell her services to Health Care lobbyists.  Get a cut of the deals.  And more airline and automobile crash news.

California Starting to Pay With I.O.U.’s – NYTimes.com

Its budget gap growing and its political process for addressing the gap unhinged, California will begin Thursday to pay vendors and taxpayers with i.o.u.’s, only the second time the state has adopted the emergency payment method since the Great Depression.

A state board will meet Thursday morning to set the interest rate for the i.o.u.’s — known officially as warrants — as well as their maturity date. By Thursday afternoon, state officials said, 28,742 warrants worth $53.3 million will be printed and readied for distribution.

The bulk of the warrants will be issued to Californians waiting their income tax refunds, though some will be issued to local governments as well as vendors doing business with the state. Federal and state laws prohibit paying state employees, schools, or Medicaid recipients with the warrants.

100% of California’s Congressional delegation voted to give $3 billion to Israel last week.  The money was handed over to the Real Rulers in a private ceremony in a small chamber off to one side.  The Power Behind the Throne happily pocketed the check and demanded that Congress support ethnic cleansing.  The delegation handing over this loot nodded and agreed: eliminating the natives is a good thing.

.

So here we are: our biggest state is going under.  Other states are soon to follow.  I wonder if the American people who will be waving flags this weekend will wake up and demand that our tax debts we are selling to the Chinese, at least be kept here, in the US, doing stuff inside the US, not going overseas!  By the way, the Taliban kidnapped one of our soldiers.  The US has stopped the anti-poppy program.  The entire war is an entire mess.  And hideously expensive.

.

As California sinks into chaos, it causes me to remember when NYC nearly went bankrupt.  Life got very difficult.  Sick of crime, I had to help organize street patrols.  I fought to get our streets lit because no one was maintaining the lighting system.  The subway system broke down so bad, I used running shoes to commute to work, never knowing if I would have to sprint from the Brooklyn Bridge to 43rd Street.  More than once, my husband had to hike over the Brooklyn Bridge to the WTC.

.

The streets had so many pot holes, it looked like Woodstock 68.  Homeless people filled the sidewalks.  Garbage wasn’t collected.  I resorted to luring the remaining trash collectors by offering them booze as a gift (they were VERY motivated!).  The condition of the schools collapsed so we formed ‘Save Our Schools’ and fought like fiends to get simple things done like get windows fixed!  California is only beginning down this road.  Good luck, you will need it..

.

ON THE OTHER HAND, if voters go after Congress spending wildly on wars and aid to Israeli ethnic cleansing, we at least have a fighting chance for survival.  But first, people have to suffer.  The whip is often the best teacher.

BBC NEWS | South Asia | Job for Indian royal descendant

Madhu is the illiterate great-great-granddaughter of emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar and has been employed to run errands in Coal India’s offices.

A letter of employment will be formally handed over to her by the coal minister at a function in Calcutta next month.

She and her mother currently run a tea stall in the slums of Calcutta.

Mughal Empire which was created by the descendants of the MongolTimur.  Timor was a very violent and cruel conquerer who infamously built pyramids from skulls.  He destroyed more than one civilization.

Timur – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Timur’s body was exhumed from his tomb in 1941 by the Soviet anthropologist Mikhail M. Gerasimov. From his bones it was clear that Timur was a tall and broad chested man with strong cheek bones. Gerasimov also found that Timur’s facial characteristics conformed to that of Mongoloid features, which he believed, in some part, supported Timur’s notion that he was descended from Genghis Khan. Gerasimov was able to reconstruct the likeness of Timur from his skull….

Timur’s tomb is protected by a slab of jade in which are carved the words in Arabic: “When I rise, the World will Tremble”. [25] It is said that when Gerasimov exhumed the body, an additional inscription inside the casket was found reading “Whomsoever opens my tomb shall unleash an invader more terrible than I.”[26] In any case, within hours after Gerasimov had begun the exhumation, Nazi Germany launched Operation Barbarossa, its invasion of the U.S.S.R.[27]

The point here is obvious: dynasties rise and fall.  The humans who descend from cruel conquerers often end up with nothing very special to show for all this.  The British royals are  no different.  If the Queen were to be chucked out of her many palaces, if she had to work for a living, she would be reduced to running a Cheapside fish and chips joint.  For various reasons, there are seldom any real ‘dynasties’ run for more than 100 years  except when kept artificially in power.

.

For example, Queen Elizabeth shares virtually no genes with Queen Elizabeth.  Pincess Diana and her awful brother had more of Queen Elizabeth’s genes.  And look at them!  Not good at all.  I suspect that too much inbreeding coupled with living in an artificial environment combines to fatally weaken any dynasty.  This is similar to the fact that if we take a pure breed lap dog and turn it loose in real nature, it would not survive very long.

.

The ‘magic’ that surrounds Her Majesty conceals from view, the petty, small, weak reality of this personage.  Just like the robes of St. Peters is more like some cross-dressing regalia on Ratzi, a man who is, to my mind, a Jackson-style clone in many unpleasant ways.  Except for the face lifts.  This guy likes to look ugly.

Strip any of these people of their fancy clothes, many servants and notoriety  and we get people no better than taxi drivers in Midtown Manhattan. It is interesting that Queen Victoria deposed the descendent of the bloody Mogul invaders and that these people were seen as saviors of India from the English invaders in the Sepoy Rebellion.

Air France plane crashed vertically into ocean | World news | guardian.co.uk

Air France flight 447 did not break up in the air but plunged vertically into the Atlantic Ocean, according to the French head investigator of last month’s crash, which killed all 228 people on board.

Alain Bouillard said life vests found among the wreckage were not inflated, indicating the accident happened so quickly that the passengers had no time to react.

Speed sensors on the Airbus A330 flying from Rio de Janeiro to Paris were not to blame, he said, though “we are far from understanding the cause of the crash”.

Seems increasingly likely, the tail was torn off and it went straight down.  Increasingly similar to the NYC crash in 2001.

‘Daddy, I couldn’t see anything’ – Yemenia Airbus crash survivor speaks | World news | The Guardian

The teenage girl who is the only known survivor of the Comoros plane crash that killed up to 152 people has described how she floated in the Indian Ocean clutching a piece of debris for 12 hours before her rescue.

The Aviation Safety Network website said that the Yemenia accident was the second deadliest plane crash ever in which only one person had survived. A four-year-old girl was the sole survivor when a Northwest Airlines plane crashed in Detroit in 1987, killing 156 people. The Yemenia plane was on the last leg of a journey from France to the former French colony off Africa’s southeastern coast. With winds howling, the plane twice tried to land at the airport in Moroni on Tuesday before crashing in deep waters off Grand Comore, the largest of the country’s three islands.

Like most crashes, this one was in bad weather while landing.  It is interesting that one person, only, survived.  And this has happened only once before.  Except for my father in law who was the sole survivor in a plane going down in Okinawa.  He, amazingly, walked away, too, with barely a scratch while everyone else died.  He is an amazing guy.

NHTSA may impose more safety features | detnews.com | The Detroit News

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will decide whether to require two advanced safety features in new cars: systems that warn drivers when they are leaving a lane, and automatically brake ahead of an impending crash. Safety experts say both systems show significant promise to sharply reduce the more than 40,000 yearly traffic fatalities and 2.5 million injuries in vehicle crashes… Forward-collision warning systems alert drivers, using radar, that they are quickly approaching a car or an object; in some cases, they automatically apply the brakes. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says the systems could help in the 2.3 million annual frontal crashes that result in 7,200 deaths — or more than one in every six road fatalities.

I hope this is installed.  I always loved seat belts.  Since the 1960’s, my family used them and we use them as much as possible and it feels funny, not using them.  We jumped to the shoulder strap style early on, too.  I always wondered, since childhood, when I played the bumper cars, why cars don’t have bouncy bumpers that go all the way around, too.  This is a logical system.  Also logical would be to have tracks instead of highways and when one enters, one types in the destination on a computer and the vehicle is then locked into a tracking system embedded in the road and you pay a fee but get to lay back and relax while whisked to one’s destination.

.

I know that people think it is fantastic to ‘be in control’ but this is an illusion. The minute an accident begins to unfold, one is out of control.  And the penalty for this can be death.  Just the other day, a lady was driving next to me on an interstate.  She lost her front right tire and it went flying right next to me and she went skidding sideways.

It was pure luck that she and I were not entangled in a mess of broken glass and twisted steel!  She was not hurt nor was I.  But still, I much prefer a system that is safer.

Editorial: Cap-and-trade bill not likely to deliver promised jobs | detnews.com | The Detroit News

The House just narrowly passed the measure, with many nervous Democrats deserting their leaders to join Republicans in opposition. That spells trouble for the bill in the Senate, where bipartisan concerns about the impact on the economy are being raised. Before the country commits to such a radical change, the promises made by supporters must be more carefully examined. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says her advocacy for cap-and-trade is all about “jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs.” But there’s no evidence that employment has grown anywhere in the world because of energy mandates such as cap-and-trade.

Cap and trade is just more Derivatives Beast garbage.  The banks can’t use real estate as tulip bulbs.  So along comes pollution trading!  Whoopee.  The only jobs created will be for JP Morgan, Citigroup and Goldman Sachs.  The same 1% of our working population that screwed up everything for the last 20 years.  If Congress wants us to go solar or wind or something, all they have to do is offer us good deals coupled with ‘buy in America (hahaha)’ and tax all energy imports.  And if coal is evil, then have a coal burning tax which flows directly to the government!  NOT TO THE BANKERS!!!!

.

But no one is lobbying Congress to be smart, of course.  The Washington Post wants lobbyists to use it as a tool to lobby our government:

.

Washington Post sells access, $25,000+ – Mike Allen – POLITICO.com

For $25,000 to $250,000, The Washington Post has offered lobbyists and association executives off-the-record, nonconfrontational access to “those powerful few”: Obamaadministration officials, members of Congress, and — at first — even the paper’s own reporters and editors.

The astonishing offer was detailed in a flier circulated Wednesday to a health care lobbyist, who provided it to a reporter because the lobbyist said he felt it was a conflict for the paper to charge for access to, as the flier says, its “health care reporting and editorial staff.”

The flier says: Spirited? Yes. Confrontational? No. The relaxed setting in the home of Katharine Weymouth assures it. What is guaranteed is a collegial evening, with Obama administration officials, Congress members, business leaders, advocacy leaders and other select minds typically on the guest list of 20 or less. …

“Offered at $25,000 per sponsor, per Salon. Maximum of two sponsors per Salon. Underwriters’ CEO or Executive Director participates in the discussion. Underwriters appreciatively acknowledged in printed invitations and at the dinner. Annual series sponsorship of 11 Salons offered at $250,000 … Hosts and Discussion Leaders … Health-care reporting and editorial staff members of The Washington Post ... An exclusive opportunity to participate in the health-care reform debate among the select few who will actually get it done. … A Washington Post Salon … July 21, 2009 6:30 p.m. …

“Washington Post Salons are extensions of The Washington Post brand of journalistic inquiry into the issues, a unique opportunity for stakeholders to hear and be heard,” the flier says. “At the core is a critical topic of our day. Dinner and a volley of ideas unfold in an evening of intelligent, news-driven and off-the-record conversation. … By bringing together those powerful few in business and policy-making who are forwarding, legislating and reporting on the issues, Washington Post Salons give life to the debate. Be at this nexus of business and policy with your underwriting of Washington Post Salons.”

Good catch, Politico!  Thank you for finding out what should be pretty obvious by now.  Guess who attends the Bilderberg group meetings?  The same bitch who wants to host these soirees for lobbyists and Congress!  HAHAHA.  All this ‘off the record’ stuff is like ‘Over The Counter OTC’ trades: secretive, corrupt, destructive and stupid.

.

The WP, in its denials, claimed that the reporters were not going to be corrupted.  But we see from the flier, that they would be in on these soirees and thus, privy to all the ‘off-the-record’ chit chat.  That would mean, they would be lying when they report on stuff.  Not that this is surprising: the WP is often nothing but lies.  The editorial page is like the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal: nuttier than an oak tree in the fall.

BBC NEWS | South Asia | Activists welcome India gay ruling

The ruling is a huge step forward. It is fantastic. I hope the government of India accepts the Delhi High Court decision. It has been an eight-year battle and I am glad it came through.

In one way it changes nothing – there are many gay couples in India anyway. In another way, it changes everything.

Till now we were considered to be criminals. If a gay couple wanted to buy a house together, it was not possible. No financial institute would even consider them.

Wonderful news for an oppressed minority in India!  India has a long, long way to go to get rid of social injustices.  I am happy, they are trying.  I hope gays get all civil rights, eventually.  And that we have sane laws protecting men, women and children from sexual exploitation, blackmail, rape, etc.  Rape laws are all about force.  Sexual exploitation laws are also all about the powerful, the rich, the social upper classes taking advantage of the weak and poor.

Elaine, you’re assuming, of course, that people could wake up and would ever be aware as to what is going on. They might be if they could tear themselves away from the distractions of American Idol, “Reality” TV and the death of Jacko. I think it’s a lost battle and the criminals will continue their looting right down to the last minute before all collapses and implodes that is, er, was the economy.

US remains silent over McKinney arrest by Israel

“Nearly a day after the detention of former US lawmaker Cynthia McKinney by Israeli forces, Washington has yet to make a reaction.

Israeli Navy detained former US congresswoman and Nobel Prize laureate Cynthia McKinney and twenty other human rights activists on board a relief boat outside Israel’s territorial waters on Tuesday as they were heading to Gaza on a humanitarian mission.

Tel Aviv claims the boat was trying to break Israel’s two-year siege on Gaza.”

I certainly do NOT advocate violence, but how long will it be before the have-nots start to look at the haves with growing discontent. I beleieve the situation is VERY ripe to snowball and get COMPLETELY out of control. And God forbid if there were to be sizable brushfires or even WORSE, a major earthquake. Great post Elaine. Empires rise and fall, and we are our ancestors, our lives the result of our past actions which we innocently attribute to our ancestors. Talk about stupid. So the Queen will one day be in Madhu’s position, to reap the servitude she has exacted on herself. And if she doesn’t buy into that, well, Destiny will smile at her ignorance, for it knows that ignorance is the greatest evil in the world that keeps everyone asleep, pliable, and susceptible to its design.

Your experience in NY gives you the right perspective on California. I have family there and regularly hear what is going on. The next two months is crunch time. It is extremely distressing how the leadership is focused on stop gap measures rather than long term solutions. So much time has been wasted on yada yada and all for nada. Much like the national government, so when the music stops it will be panic Central. Understanding how the system works doesn’t comfort one watching the suffering caused.

In the meantime they pander to Israel who is now holding a US Congresswoman in captivity (hostage?). Now that is real stupid. Give the enemy money to shoot you. These clueless morons should stop bitching about the Chinese, they borrow their money and serve it up to the Zionists. The USS Liberty was the signal, you can come and abuse me whenever you want, on my dime. Heh.

Gitmo was a practice run to implement their crowd control measures in the US, in anticipation of civil disorder. That evil will come home to roost, they are prepared with holding areas, and miles of caskets. It never ceases to amaze me how much money they throw at negative solutions, rather than use the money for positive results. Too too sad.

  • The big buffalo needs his own blog. Elaine is magical but grounded, mythic by way of a strong science grounding and sane as. Very rarely mistaken, anyway. The comments reflect the pain of education.

  • Our politicians are really strange when you think of it, about money. They NEVER worry about paying for something–except in ONE instance: health care reform. It amazes me no end. Anything else, they just raise the debt ceiling, again and again and again. But the FIRST words out of their corrupt mouths on health care reform is “How are we going to pay for it?” Like Elaine says, Arrest them all.

  • Our entire pathetic situation can be summed up in two words “FIAT MONEY”. If our money was real and couldn’t be synthetically derived from a computer entry, we couldn’t just give it away to treasonous zionists and other useless entities of destruction. Imagine how miners would react to giving away billions in gold/silver they just risked their lives to mine? The world MUST return to real value.

  • California: 8th largest economy in the world.

As it goes, so goes the rest of the country. We are just ahead of the curve (so to speak). What is really needed, of course, is a new California constitution… like we will ever agree on the contents. The requirement of a 2/3 majority to pass a budget is absurd.

  • California has needed a new constitution for some time now. Will it ever happen!? I doubt it…

Elmer Fudd Amewicans vs Mozillo Bugs Bunny

“If I was an oligarch and I wanted to buy my spoiled little shit of a son a toy that would make him laugh and laugh for hours, I’d buy him a middle-class American. Because Americans are funny the way all dupes and chumps are funny. You can trick today’s Americans time and again, and they always fall for it. And when you trick them, they stomp around dramatically and make a lot of blustery noise about “the people” who allegedly “aren’t going to stand much more of this” because “our founding forefathers bla bla bla” and of course the ol’ “you can fool some of the people some of the time, buttcha can’t fool bla bla bla…” Basically, if you’ve seen your Elmer Fudd, then you’ve seen your American sucker in all of his cartoon comic-foil glory: a sentimental buffoon, a harmless chump whose guns don’t fool anyone but himself.

Every day, Americans play the role of Elmer Fudd to the oligarchy’s Bugs Bunny–if you look at it from the oligarchy’s point of view, at least.

Exhibit A: Multigazllionaire scumbag Angelo Mozilo v. American Suckers.

Tuesday it was reported that Mozilo, the guy who destroyed millions of Americans’ lives and now faces fraud charges, is making American taxpayers-his victims-pay for his legal defense. Yup, Bank of America, which only exists thanks to tens of billions of taxpayer dollars, is using YOUR MONEY to defend Angelo Mozilo against YOU, the victim.

Bank of America paying Mozilo’s legal fees
    Tue Jun 9, 2009 3:59pm EDT

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Bank of America Corp said on Tuesday it is covering the legal fees of Angelo Mozilo, the former Countrywide Financial Corp chief executive charged with securities fraud and insider trading.

Lawyers for the former executives last week said they planned to fight the SEC’s claims.

Bank of America has taken $45 billion from the U.S. government’s Troubled Asset Relief Program.

What makes this really funny is that Mozilo doesn’t even need your money, because he’s already stolen at least half a billion from you suckers… But he’s taking taxpayer dollars to defend himself anyway, for the same reason that dogs lick their balls: BECAUSE IT TICKLES!
