The soon-to-be-bankrupt state of California wasted millions of dollars on extra police for all the bereaved Jackson hysterics who were expected to show up for the freak show funeral. Only, hardly anyone showed up. Couch potato mourning won out. California is on its last legs. There isn’t even an attempt at fiscal sanity. Congress is behaving the exact same way, too. The spending spree there goes on even when Obama threatens to veto Congressional bills with too much pork. Oink, oink, guys! And GS and JPM enter the natural gas exchange set up this last year. Expect high prices for energy in the future.

Gloves off on cost of Michael Jackson’s services – Los Angeles Times
City Atty. Carmen Trutanich said this week that he was investigating how the city ended up with a $1.4-million bill. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s office conceded that a city effort to solicit online donations to cover the memorial costs yielded only $17,000 before being upended by “frequent and prolonged server crashes.”…
City Councilman Dennis Zine has been the most outspoken advocate of billing the promoters of Tuesday’s memorial.
“This was a private memorial for a celebrity singer, Michael Jackson,” he said. “And no disrespect to him, his family or his fans, but why should the people of Los Angeles be obligated to pay for what they decided to do? They could have had a service at Forest Lawn, they could have had a service at a local church. They decided to have a memorial of this magnitude and have a worldwide event.”…
Taking that argument a step further, Joel Kotkin, presidential fellow at Chapman University in Orange, said that Jackson’s death and memorial helped “brand” the city and would have lasting economic value.
“If there is a positive,” he said, “it’s that it sort of reconfirmed L.A.’s status as a capital of pop music, celebrity, and lunacy. . . . That’s infinitely more important than a one-day event.”
.
California is going bankrupt. So what do they do? Throw a party for a bankrupt pop star! And then bill the government! HAHAHA. This mixture of public and private befuddles many people. In ancient Rome, the circus gladiatorial battles and the public baths trumped spending on defending the borders, for example. As the US economy contracts, as we go off the financial cliff due to too many debts, as the state of California refuses to tax itself realistically, we celebrate an anorexic pedophile’s death due to his drug addiction!
.
California is also home to Octomom. She abused student loans so she could have out-of-wedlock artificial insemination so she could have 16 children, all of whom are basically on welfare. Instead of being arrested, she became a celebrity on the same level as Michael Jackson: a freak show. This cost the state of California several million dollars with more millions due to be funneled down Otomom’s uterus in the future.
.
Morals of some sort, matters. The born again Christian community pretended to have morals but got so hung up on the abortion issue, they now applaud and support mothers who have artificial insemination so they can have Kate and 8 disasters. Even out of wedlock teens are applauded by these strange Christians! So long as the teen keeps the babies and presumably, raises them. The Jackson children were all conceived in this fashion, too. California didn’t pay for these children….YET.
.
But the fact is this: all of the Jacksons trend towards bankruptcies. They grind through multimillions in loans and still go bankrupt. Like Donald Trump, another huckster who is on TV and is a celebrity. Donald Trump made his loot by erecting gambling casinos all over the place. These are major destructors of any sane economic system. The ‘freebies’ offered by these places are like Venus fly traps. They are designed to lure in schlubs who can’t figure out, the casinos usually are always the winners in any financial encounters involving games of chance.
.
Michael Jackson’s memorial was not our proudest moment – Los Angeles Times
I got to Staples Center some time after the parade of Ringling Bros. elephants and just before a bikini-clad woman who held aloft a sign that said, “Go Vegetarian for the Man in the Mirror.” I suppose it goes without saying that not all memorial services draw the same crowd.
Speaking of crowds, this one was way smaller than the city had planned for. There were hundreds of people on the street rather than hundreds of thousands, which means that a few million tax dollars were spent to have police officers stand around with their arms folded. At 11:30 a.m., at Ralphs on 9th Street, I saw two of the 3,200 deployed cops taking a coffee break. They said they’d been on duty since 2 a.m., all of it overtime. By my count, the vendors, the media and the men in blue far outnumbered fans.
.
The British thought the Princess Di memorial would be huge, too. It was actually not so big after all. Princess Di was basically dying, like Michael Jackson, of self-imposed starvation. Jackson was an anorexic. Di was a bulimic. Both were financial disaster areas. Princess Di also consumed vast quantities of wealth. This is why she was toying with one of the richest heirs in Europe when she went out in a blaze of paparazzi glory. Killed by celebrity.
.
Much of the Jackson hysteria was plain, ordinary hysterics. Not very many people were all that interested in him except as a freak show during the last 10 years. His freaky death freaked out people who consume gossip, even more. Consuming seas of gossip is like gambling: there are moral problems involved here. I notice that our elections now revolve around gossip. Instead of debating issues and positions, we trade scandal gossip and wonder about what sort of garb our contestants wear or how they style their hair, etc.
.
The city of LA, epicenter of the gossip universe, worried that millions of people would rush there to howl in unison over the passing of the latest freak show. And of course, this proved a delusion. The Princess Di business should be a warning: all the people who wanted to make money off of the dead woman ended up killing that golden goose. The rush turned into a panic. Just as millions are rushing to buy Jackson memorabilia, they will find these precious things to be worthless just as we saw in the tulip mania.
.
The cash cow for the Jacksons now moves to the easily exploited adopted (bought) children. Unmasked in public at a funeral, they are now the latest commodities in the celebrity market. Kate and 8 captive children shows that the US has a gross appetite for sucking down innocent children and devouring them as entertainment. California has been petitioned for years and years by former child actors and performers who have begged for this ugly business to be more heavily regulated. But the entertainment bosses need children like Moloch needed them for fuel.

A promising young stockbroker worried about losing his job in the City jumped to his death from a rooftop restaurant wearing his best suit and holding a glass of champagne….
The stockbroker had planned to celebrate his 25th birthday tonight at a champagne and canapés party at the Amuse Bouche bar in Soho. He had organised the event through his own company. It is not the first time someone has committed suicide by jumping from the roof of Coq d’Argent, a French restaurant popular with City bankers and financiers. In May 2007 Richard Ford, a 33-year-old City worker, died after throwing himself off the building and landing on top of a bus….
Barry Bagirathan, 26, had known Mr Malde for six years and worked alongside him at Deutsche Bank. He said his friend had idolised Michael Jackson and had been extremely upset by his death, even writing an obituary for the singer, but described his sudden suicide as “absolutely out of character”.
.
First off, look at the age of these young stockbrokers! They are babies! When I was 24, I didn’t know all that much and it took a long time to learn stuff. This poor guy started when he was only 20 years old and his trading buddies are barely much more in age. When too many very young people run economic systems, they have this thing we call ‘a learning curve’. Thanks to computers, trading houses needed armies of very young people who understand computers. Only, they don’t understand RISK.
.
And have problems with simple sanity. Young people are, by nature, very risky and think they can live forever and every small setback sets them off in suicidal directions. This is why they are exploited by the elders in wars, for example. Media hysteria is very contagious. Whatever the media decides, it must scare us with something, they do this instinctually and collectively. They vacillate between nasty gossip and heroic stories of triumph often, starring the same characters! As we see clearly in this latest, and rather disgusting round of madness.
.
The Associated Press: Banks’ plan to refuse California IOUs takes heat
After taking multibillion-dollar bailouts from the federal government, some of the nation’s biggest banks are declining to lend a hand with a different financial mess: the California budget stalemate.
The banks, including JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of America Corp., Wells Fargo & Co. and Citigroup Inc. and some regional banks, are trying to pressure lawmakers to end the impasse by warning that, after Friday, they won’t accept IOUs issued by the state. The move would leave many businesses and families with pieces of paper and fewer options for getting their money immediately.
.
Note, please, how all of our government bailed out these banks who, in turn, RAVAGE US. They won’t do anything for us at all. If we or our governments go bankrupt, these gnomes are the very first in line, demanding full payments or else! They forced us to create and hold trillions in IOUs so they could be banks again (they are bankrupt!) and in turn, they get all nasty and demand we go into debt another few trillion to bail ourselves out after bailing them out. This is why these guys should have been nationalized and broken up into smaller entities. It is life and death.
.
But they own Congress and the Presidency of BOTH parties.
.
California faces deadline tomorrow to avoid junk bond status
The state of California must pass a budget by tomorrow or its credit rating could tumble to junk status. Both Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s have warned the state of a multinotch downgrade if the state fails to approve a budget.
California currently has an A2 rating, the lowest of any state. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger needs to close a $24.3 billion budget deficit and has threatened to cut essential services if a budget agreement cannot be reached.
.
The rating is rapidly going to junk bond status. The poor saps who pay taxes in California will have to pay a very high interest rate due to this. Not that anyone seems particularly amazed by this! Where is the hysteria? Why are we more worried about what drugs this Jackson creep consumed but not this dire financial news? This is like people peeping over the fence to see a neighbor on a drunk binge while their own house is burning down. And the San Andreas fault shudders and groans, waiting for its 150 year blow out to reset the landscape with tremendous violence!
.
Even as the city and state waste immense funds, patrolling for a crowd that never showed up, the chances of a massive eruption of violence a la China, is right around the corner. LA has burned in the past and will burn in the future. When NY went bankrupt and had to be bailed out, we had massive riots and large hunks of the city burned. And crime shot upwards, too. It was an ugly mess. Everything from fire hydrants, street lights, streets, bridges, transportation systems, healthcare facilities, schools all became very wretched, very fast.

AIG May Have Zero Value After Rescue, Citigroup Says (Update1) – Bloomberg.com
American International Group Inc., the insurer bailed out four times by the government, will likely have no value left for private shareholders after repaying the U.S., Citigroup Inc. said.
“Our valuation includes a 70 percent chance that the equity at AIG is zero,” said Joshua Shanker, an analyst at Citigroup, in a note to investors late yesterday cutting his price target on the New York-based insurer by more than half.
Outgoing Chief Executive Officer Edward Liddy is under pressure from lawmakers to sell assets to help repay the $182.5 billion rescue package that was required to prop up the insurer after losses on credit-default swaps tied to U.S. home loans. The company said last week that other derivatives, backing about $193 billion in assets for European banks, could have a “material adverse effect” on AIG’s results.
“The company has not been forthcoming about the sequence of events that would result in a loss” on the European contracts, Shanker said. “Even a proportionally small loss could be significant.”
.
AIG is bankrupt. The US got stuck with this turkey because GS and JPM needed to get their money from this insurance group, money they lost on bad deals. On top of that, we bailed GS and JPM out. In return, they are bidding up the price of commodities…again!
.
Goldman Sachs Trading Revenue May Beat Record, Moszkowski Says – Bloomberg.com
Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is on track to beat its 2007 trading-revenue record, enabling it to boost compensation by an estimated 64 percent from last year, according to Bank of America Corp. analyst Guy Moszkowski.
Goldman Sachs has “unmatched risk-taking/risk-management skills in a market that strongly rewards these because of decline in competitor risk appetite,” Moszkowski wrote in a note to investors today. The New York-based firm “appears on track to accrue significantly more comp than ‘08, despite little change in headcount.”
Six months ago, Goldman Sachs was supported by $10 billion from the U.S. Treasury and relied on government guarantees to issue debt. Moszkowski predicts the company will reap $26.45 billion from trading this year, a gain from $25.36 billion in 2007 when the firm shattered Wall Street profit records.
.
This news is very disgusting. These clever gnomes would have made $0 profits if they went bankrupt last fall. They were in very deep trouble when AIG went under due to the derivatives markets. They are one of the creators and feeders of the Derivatives Beast and they caused this mess and we saved them and in turn, they will make profits via their computerized trading system that manipulates markets.
.
U.S. Natural Gas Fund Grows to Record on Demand Surge (Update1) – Bloomberg.com
The United States Natural Gas Fund expanded today to the largest position in its 27-month history as investors snapped up the last of its shares and it awaited government approval to issue more units.
As of early today, the exchange-traded fund owned the equivalent of 124,926 natural gas futures contracts on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The number of shares outstanding reached a record yesterday, rising 14.5 percent to 322.3 million, more than 10 times the total at the start of the year, and worth $3.97 billion.
.
Watch natural gas shoot up in price. When this happens and it will happen, they will use various tricks to manipulate the markets, they will ENRON us to death—when this happens, we shall learn a valuable lesson. There was this scorpion who needed to cross a river. ’Save me, O crocodile!’ cried the scorpion. So the crocodile carried the scorpion across and in thanks, the scorpion bit the crocodile. As it died, it cried out, ‘Why did you do this to me?’ And the scorpion said, ‘Goldman Sachs always makes a profit.’

Think Progress » Bank Lobbyist’s Freudian Slip: ‘We’re Not For Any Regulation’
HOST: So if not this process by the administration, the creation of the CFPA, how would the Financial Services Roundtable go about assessing and remedying this…
TALBOTT: Sure, sure. We’re not for any regulation. In fact, we have some proposals, but what we don’t want to do is separate out the regulation of the entity from the regulation of the product, which is what the CFPA would do.
.
Of course, they don’t want any regulations. The funny part of this interview is, the host didn’t leap upon Mr. Talbott. Only people with eagle eyes caught this statement. GS and JPM don’t like any regulations applying to them. None of the bankers want this. They want a free rein so they can run wild. Using 24 year old computer kids to run the actual system.
.
Democrats sweating the small stuff – David Rogers – POLITICO.com
The picture’s no better in the House, where the Democratic leadership didn’t even allow a floor vote last month on cutting the F-22 — Defense Secretary Robert Gates’s No. 1 target in revamping the Pentagon’s budget. And with the highway trust fund running on fumes, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and House committee chairmen are at loggerheads with the money due to tap out Aug. 21….
The bus program termination — a very modest initiative by Obama — was blocked 51-47 on Tuesday. A second amendment, initiated by Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) and co-sponsored by McCain, would have struck millions in earmarks opposed by the president. It failed 60-38 on Wednesday, with just 12 Democrats and Connecticut independent Sen. Joe Lieberman backing Obama from his side of the aisle.
McCain taunted: “The Senate just voted against the president of the United States. There are 60 votes over there,” he said, pointing to the Democratic side of the chamber. “We could not get 51.”
.
The looting in DC continues. Even if Obama opposes looting, he is helpless when it comes to stopping it since Congress in both parties is utterly corrupt. McCain is corrupt. Where was he when the GOP ran both Houses and the Presidency? He didn’t see a spending spree he could oppose! He voted to overrun the budget over and over and over again!
.
The Democrats should have reformed the system. That is, arrest anyone who accepts corporate bribes which means we fill our jails with politicians! HAHAHA. Instead, Congress simply changed which pirates were in control…ooops. Actually, GS and JPM and all their ilk simply started money flowing to the winners of the last election. They, in turn, thought they could spend money like there is no tomorrow. You see, the Dragon of China, that bloody and hard-headed gold hoarding dragon, will lend our government money so why stop the spending sprees? Yes, this fits perfectly in the Chinese 50 Year Plan of bankrupting the US.
.
Thank you, Pelosi and Reid! You guys are doing a great job. And thank you, GOP, for assisting the Chinese communists. You all will be remembered by historians writing in Chinese.

Came here as a result of some referring links posted by “Free Mason”. Nice site. Well written. Witty. To the point. Clever.
As a native Californian and “Angeleno”, this article on California is fascinating and well done.
As a writer in the conspiracy field, I can only tell my fellow Californians, “What did you expect when you voted in “Aahno-old”
The guy was a sell out to the financial parasites from the beginning.
The best thing to do is to BANKRUPT the state and absolutely REFUSE TO PAY THOSE BANKSTERS who are largely responsible for the financial implosion of the state.
Wake the EFF up already and realize that the state exists for the people and not the bankers.

“we celebrate an anorexic pedophile’s death due to his drug addiction!”
That describes him perfectly!! People have been making fun of Michael Jackson for years and now they suddenly want to proclaim how he changed the world with his music? What a joke! He was a dysfunctional celebrity with a bizarre, messed-up life. His death and funeral was the same as his life…..he was a has-been who couldn’t accept that he was a middle age has-been and his funeral was supposed to be something grand and We-Are-The-World-ish, but it wasn’t. Michael Jackson is a good example of what happens when people are poisoned by fame. And the fact that he could make all that money and still be in such extreme dept shows how crazy his excessive lifestyle was.

I was in Walmart yesterday and there was a table set out with all the celebrity rags on it featuring articles on Michael Jackson. What struck me as odd was that all but one featured him as he looked 10-15 years ago when he did Thriller and other things. Only one showed him as a thin, pale-faced cancer patient with a black hat. It was clear that he was once famous for his music, but that was a very long time ago.
About gossip: all my life, starting in high school, people have come to me and dumped their deepest, darkest secrets on me for reasons that I do not understand. I never solicited these, yet I had to carry them around all my life. Why?
Would it not be better for them to tell no one? That is the best way to keep a secret, you know.

California will never default, it’s all bread and circuses. Since the FRN is fiat and backed by nothing, what true cost to the USG is there to print up 30 billion and send it west. 30 billion is laughable these days. It’s nothing. Like raul, obama’s BB said…no sense wasting a good crisis. it will be in the news cycle then go away…after some type of political gamesmanship is played at the local and state levels.
come on…the usg is touting the stability of the dollar and they are going to let their biggest asset default??? crazy talk.

What? Legitimizing pedophiles? The man who raped me when I was a child, after confessing his crime, died. That was the least he could do for me at that point.
July 9, 2009 at 8:06 pm
errrr I think you mean sold. When someone sells something, it is not a gift. And anyhow what indian tribe owned Neverland before MJ stole it.
July 9, 2009 at 8:09 pm
Trailin Pete, this is all about playing ‘chicken’. When I was a wild teenager, we all used to go to Roller Coaster Road in the foothills of Catalina Mountain in Tucson. Then teens would drive straight towards each other. The one who flinched first and swerved was the loser.
I hate to count all the times that no one swerved. I used to belong to Search And Rescue and since my parent’s ranch at that time was one of the very few places in the desert where this went on, I would have to go off and help clean up the messes made when head on hits happened.
So…will anyone swerve? Or will they crash. Remember: this is crazy California we are talking about.
July 9, 2009 at 8:10 pm
Did you hear his children at the wake?? They said they loved him as a father. He was no pedophile. More propaganda!

CK, poor pay Attention doesn’t pay any attention to his own ideology. This is why he admires Jackson.
July 9, 2009 at 8:11 pm
Gads, pay Attention, listen carefully: MANY pedophiles rape OTHER PEOPLE’S KIDS! Got that? For example, the guy who raped me had his own children. So he raped me, not them. GRRRR.
July 9, 2009 at 8:11 pm
another point. there is a difference between a budget gap and insolvency. go look at the CAFR sites and take a gander at california’s consolidated finances. they are wealthy beyond measure and that’s assuming absurdly low asset values. If there is a bankruptcy/default, all state assets go into liquidation. that ain’t gonna happen folks
July 9, 2009 at 8:14 pm
Hate to tell anyone this, but if you default on ANY debt, you are technically bankrupt. Now, if one has assets, one can sell this. For example, California has lots of assets the Chinese would happily buy, hell, the Japanese would snap it up in a flash, too!
Is this good? Or bad? You decide.
July 9, 2009 at 8:15 pm
i agree with you elaine, but realistically what’s the worst that can happen? Ahnold will use it as justification to layoff/fire thousands of worthless government employees and maybe trim some fat to bulk up californias bottom line. after all, it is a corporation and that’s what “good” ceo’s do. look for an excuse and chop chop chop. i’m thinking ahnold looks at obammy’s precedent as getting into the white house being foreign born as his own personal blueprint. now he just needs to show his masters that he has the chops to chop.
btw, kudos to you for your writing. excellent stuff.
July 9, 2009 at 8:23 pm
Michael Jackson did not rape anyone! How dare you! He was completely alone and he was used by the bloodsuckers all around him. I wish he just walked out of his mansion and felt the real love everyone felt for him. You will never understand! He was a victim of the white power system, got that???
July 9, 2009 at 8:24 pm
This economic collapse will not end until debts are paid up or defaulted on. Debts of consumers, corporations, banks, governments.
Banks don’t want citizen consumers to default and thus force them to take losses which in turn would force these very banks to default. And so on and so on. We are stuck in economic limbo and the price for treading water is rising every day.
Now Frank suggesting the gov should pay mortgages that unemployed cannot pay until they are rehired. That sounds great (for the banks)! How many of these poor underwater J6Ps would love to just mail in house keys to bank and start afresh — gov/banks won’t let that happen. What a mess!
July 9, 2009 at 9:03 pm
Emmett Till was a victim of the white power system. MJ not so much.
By the end of his days, most folks were indifferent to him. He had produced no music or dance or sizzle of any kind since 89.
Even the child molestation trials where he was not found guilty were anti climactic. “Nothing left to see here folks.”
July 9, 2009 at 9:05 pm
PayAttention,
You are barking up the wrong tree by attacking me. I made no comment on whether he gave us or did not give us a gift or anything at all. I simply commented on what I saw. If this disturbs you, then take the issue up with the celebrity rags that featured him.
As for his gifts, I am Deaf, so he gave me nothing at all. Please do not make any more presumptions about me.
Thanks in advance.

For what it’s worth, I don’t know about Jackson. Who would know, really? He refused to grow up. There was a ton of money involved. Monitarianism is a religion. If some Peter Pan character refuses to grow up, and there is money involved, they don’t have to.
Because of the money. It’s really very simple. Money is God. When Money talks, nobody walks. Simple enough?

If only the people who loved him had not bought his music and encouraged him, he would not have had the money to pay the surgeons and the bleachers and the pill pushers. But they did. They showed their love and devotion and he went right ahead and made himself into a whitish girl instead of a black man. How Malcolm would have admired the gloved one’s victimhood.

Pay Attention, You need to wake up. If someone molested your child or grandchild, would you want to celebrate their life simply because you used to like dancing to Billy Jean back in the 80s? Being successful in the music industry doesn’t amount to anything when you stop to think of all the children who have had their lives ruined by this freak of nature. Get over it!

Thank you! Our time is short. The gifted ones bring us joy and show the other side to the the cruelty and the oppression. I do not know why this blog, which I follow for coverage of political events, chose to attack a man that hundreds of millions of people love. Many of my own friends cried when MJ passed away, and it hit me hard also. Jackson could hit a high C? HAHAHAHA. Any opera falsetto (men who are experts in singing music from before 1800) can do that easily.
As for women, that is awfully easy. I used to be able to yodel the war songs of the Valkyries from Wagner…’Hoya hola! Hoya hola! Hola…..hola!’ Don’t ask me what Brünhilda was saying. She waves her spear while doing this so I assume, she has some deadly intent.
As for singing AND dancing: anyone who wants to be a star on Broadway has to do this and I have seen many excellent performers over the years. One friend of mine even juggled flaming torches while she sang AND danced! Never saw Jackson do that.

We shouldn’t blame California for the mess it is in. As somebody said the other day, it is all San Andreas fault.

@CC:
It is a little know factoid ( little known because I invented it out of whole cloth), that Clinton had terrible migraines that could only be cured by orgasms. In doing that hoodoo that she do so well, that intern kept the Clinton/Bush dynasty from blowing up most of the world. ( aspirin plants in Sudan and empty sands in afghanistan do not count as part of the real world )
She deserves a public plaquing somewhere.
But clinton is far from the ichi ban, maybe the go ban at best, closer to the juu-ban. One could give him points for the cigar thing, a tasty bit of byplay that was, but he looses points in the hairstyle and lips selection.
Actually, historically, most of his predecessors did the same or more than he did. It just took historians longer before they would write about it. Except for James Buchanan who had no dalliances in office. Auntie James as he was known was the first non heterosexual president.
And Silent Cal who was without a doubt the fourth best president this country ever had. “OH CK,” I can hear you say, “Who were the top three?” William Henry Harrison ( 31 days in office the winner and still champion of excellent presidents), the placer is James Garfield at 199 days in office, and the show horse is Zachary Taylor at 491 days of mayhem. Each of these men left the USA no worse when they left office than they found it when they obtained office.
July 10, 2009 at 3:56 am
@CK: historians may have written about these things, but media turned it into fashionable and appropriate behavior. A wise man once said, “if you don’t meet the Devil while walking the road of life it’s probably because you are moving in the same direction”.

Brilliant but morally corrupt individuals have always made the most popular Presidents and politicians. Doublespeak plus drama, we are still Greek at heart, and very much anally retentive, eh?

its like the omen… michael jackson all up in someones head like, man its totally a good idea to jump from a skyscraper…
.
And california… if they dont get it together and quick I think they are opening a pandoras box of states rights… and personally, IDAHO RULES… they produce 60% of their own electricity and 40% of the nations DUMEST LAWS ‘massive over regulation/tax harassment’… screw California i cant believe they are doing this, all the rest of the states should condemn California for issuing IOU’s while a recognized member of the constitutional republic… if not we are opening the door to More federal bailouts and 2Big2Fail Federal coruption much on the scale we now see but with total bullshit california IOUs circulating in interstate commerce subverting the constitution and lending to speculation on the ‘true value’ of our underlying currency… and all of this could lead to total bullshit dollars subverting states rights and tax revenues straining the union and the peace of the state… going against in every way the United States Constitution
.
They may be among the worst state debtors, But at this point in time they are the first to FAIL the republic… things change, and it would be a damn shame if the only thing California ran was California
.
there a pain in the ass anyways

Folks,
I may not agree with payAttention but the reason I apologized to her or him was that I’m a hypocrite in my remarks to her or him because I wish to follow a spiritual path that emphasizes AVOIDING using harsh language, and sarcasm–and I messed up.
How everyone else wants to treat payAttention is their responsibility and will make no further comment on my apology–sorry to have to confess my sins in public.
In light of the trauma of Elaine’s experiences she has shared with us, it’s understandable her feelings and I respect that deeply as she has helped me recover from my trauma experience, which was nowhere near the magnitude of her’s.
Now, would I have allowed MJ to babysit my kids ? (btw, I don’t have any and don’t want to). NO, thank you!
Thanks, Elaine, for point out some of the technical aspects of the human voice in your response as I was unaware of that–as well as the other requirements you mentioned for being an entertainer on Broadway.
MJ is good example of how nothing fails like success in America.
Thanks and I’ll shut up now.

In the USA, the morally handicapped are hired because they are fun to watch.
By the way, there is another explanation for not meeting the debbil while walking down the road of life. You Be Debbil. ( Which is akin to Me Be Bank )

We are (like)Rome and California is where the Colosseum is located, with all of its supporting different weird actors, and strange beasts from all over the known world, doing their many, mesmerizing magic tricks to keep the citizens of Rome entertained while the emperors, praetorians, generals and corrupt Senators fight, argue and scheme among themselves over issues of power and glory and wealth.
We keep an optimistic demeanor in front of the commoners so they will not know that our power is weakening.
We send our generals with their legions off into the far reaches of the empire so they will be dutifully employed and not causing rebellion here at home.
We work at trying to keep our enemies from being able to form alliances with each other, but we are slipping in this respect.
Our citizens are unemployed and spend their days at the Colosseum (television networks) idling away their time watching increasingly bizarre, heroic, warlike entertainments where people are harmed and degraded and killed in front of their eyes, and they cheer this on and become aroused by this.
Ah, but the empire must feed the citizens of Rome, and we bring all kinds of expensive delicacies and objects from foreign lands, at great expense, while our own farms and fields sit idle and go to weeds. And we cannot stop this because our Citizens have come to expect it from us…after all, we are Rome.
We provide for the empire by taxing and looting those nations we have conquered, but this is becoming very costly…and the citizens in those places continually rebel, so we have to keep contingents of our legions deployed all over our known world to maintain order…but to little avail as nations there plot against us.
The costs of this deployment around the known world are outweighing the monetary gains, and the rebellions just keep happening. The barbarians on the Eastern and Southern regions of the empire are now seriously arming themselves and are forming alliances against us, but for the moment, we reign supreme.
Weird new religious zealots are stirring the citizen’s minds. As long as these religions continue “rendering to Caesar,” we will tolerate them, but they deserve close watching.
Our Praetorians and armies have devised new, more cruel means of putting down rebellions throughout the empire, and we want to make examples out of people we punish…destroy them mentally and physically with such cruelty that others will not want to rise up against us again.
Neither do we trust our own citizens, and we set spies (electronic) in their midst to report back to us any notions of rebellion.
The wealthy who control the Senate are devising new ways to take the wealth from the people, but they have not considered what might happen when our legions return and see that they have no worthwhile pensions or land to retire to after their many years of soul draining harsh service in the far reaches of the empire. And we are spending more wealth than we are accumulating, and the excesses of our emperors continue to abound as they want more and more wealth as tribute to them.
Some things just don’t change much folks.

Yesterday, a homeless soldier who returned from Iraq six months ago, living with his family at a camp ground in a small tent, ran them over, nearly killing them all.
The soldiers have one choice: they can rejoin the military and be sent out of the country for the bulk of their productive lives, killing women and children in distant lands. This is a deal with a devil that is walking down the road. Actually, the devils like Cheney don’t walk, they are in air conditioned vehicles.
July 10, 2009 at 1:34 pm
@CK: the debbil is in all of us, I call it lower mind. People without conscience are ruled by the debbil, just like sociopaths.
—
@Elaine: Cheney IS a sociopath. As for the soldiers, where do I begin? I really feel for them, most are kids looking for a paying job (granted some are real wackos) the suicide rate has never been higher. They get mentally deranged by what they see in Iraq, then come home and take it out on their families. Not to mention the sickness and DU they are procreating with. If they intend to go Kamikaze they should just be given the home and business addresses of the politicos, and elite who turned them into what they are. That way they really die for their country. Heh.

“DeVaul, did you ever read or see the film of “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter?” ”
No, I have never even heard of it. I will look it up and maybe read it someday, as I am curious as to why so many people approached me with their secrets and personal problems in high school, college, and in West Germany. Even the Germans did this to me.
Actually, now that I think about it, a LOT of them did this, and some were complete strangers. Most of it was about their families’ past with regard to the Nazis and WWII, but some was just general run-of-the-mill stuff.
The German secrets were much more interesting than the American ones. Wish I could still hear regarding that. Hearing confessions directly from the original sources is quite fascinating.
David’s description of America is very accurate. I have also always viewed America as the new Rome, and I am sure the outcome will be the same.
July 11, 2009 at 10:10 pm
@David, DeVaul- I, too, have come to believe America as the new Rome; and according to the Bible, we are the end-times Beast of Revelations! Revelations us a clue which Empire was the Beast back then – and both versions of that clue are spot-on accurate! It also tells us that it ceased to exist but was reincarnated.
Well the Roman Empire ceased to exist.
But our founding fathers, in writing a constitution, could have created a parliamentary democracy. Instead they reincarnated the Roman Republic! (Which has sinced crossed the Rubicon)
(but not surprised)
And Revelations tells us what will happen happen to us if the Bible IS true: Jesus will return and proclaim the most ardent wish of a small minority of Muslims: “DEATH TO AMERICA!!!!!!!” Which means all those born-again end-times Christians U.S.A. will find themselves at the left hand of Jesus, who will be on his judgement seat.
July 11, 2009 at 10:21 pm
I think the book of rev is more about Death of Israel, america not being part of the geography of the authors. I mean basically once HE blows the crap out of the middle east, that’s it. Over and out. Nobody else need apply. The end timers will have to migrate to the sacred sands in order to prophet from his coming.
So we be safe from that whole Gog and Magog stuff and nonsense.
July 11, 2009 at 10:24 pm
I know it is just so tempting and so like our vaunted merkin exceptionalism to think ourselves the second coming of the ROMAN EMPIRE.
I suspect that a more apt comparison would be with the HRE which as they say was neither holy nor roman nor much of an empire.
Or maybe we are just a historical rerun, first as tragedy and second time as farce.
July 11, 2009 at 11:50 pm
Or maybe it is just the natural cycle of growth decay and collapse. If anyone here is interested in technical analysis perhaps you could find some fibonacci numbers in all this.
Also, Strauss and Howe in The Fourth Turning present a cyclical theory and analysis.

DeVaul: “Hearing confessions directly from the original sources is quite fascinating.”
That is supposed to be the good thing about being a Catholic priest, not chasing the altar boys. I think of confession as medieval psychotherapy.
Those who confided in you must have felt a strong sense of trust in you.
