Cash 4 Gold Is Trying To Censor Me

Evidently, a corporation called ‘Cash 4 Gold’ decided, a second time, to harass me illegally.  They didn’t want me to link to web sites that had complaints about Cash 4 Gold and all the sites I linked to were legitimate complaints.  Cash 4 Gold likes to pretend they have only happy customers.  To give this illusion, they troll for any comments that are negative and attack the web hosts.

Here is my previous story:  CASH 4 GOLD WANTS TO BE INVESTIGATED! « Culture of Life News

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

Evidently, WordPress wants to censor me out of fear.  A fearful organization that doesn’t understand what BS is can’t host real reporting.  All major corporations like to prevent negative feedback not by being good but via intimidation, strong arm tactics and other odious measures.  No one should present themselves as being a ‘publisher’ if they knuckle under obvious strong arm tactics that violate my First Amendment rights.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

All I did was link to the Rip-off Report and this is what got Cash 4 Gold angry:  Rip-off Report: Grant Raven Media ,Grant Funding Solutions, Grant Search Assistance, Or Grant Writer Professional scam, fraud, deceitful Internet

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

What I did was, click on the ad Cash 4 Gold had at this particular site.  It gave me a dead URL which I thought was rather odd and funny.  So I did some more web searches:   Cash4Gold Complaints – Former employee exposing the scams of Cash4Gold

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

This website was the depository for complaints about Cash 4 Gold.  So I reported this fact.  This was not me lying.  Then, Cash 4 Gold defended itself:

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

Hello Elaine,
My name is Weronika Cwir and I represent Cash4Gold.
I am writing to alert you that a posting on your blog contains false and defamatory information, and to request that you immediately remove the entry from your site.
The statements by a former short-term employee terminated by the company are malicious in intent.  The posting contains numerous errors, misrepresentations and deliberate lies that clearly constitute defamatory statements regarding Cash4Gold and its senior executives.
We are not objecting to statements of opinion. However, when a blog posting claims to state facts as a matter of authority, and those facts are demonstrably false and damaging, that crosses legal boundaries. Sites hosting such statements, after being informed of the falsehoods, bear the same liability for defamation as the author.
Virtually every point made by the author of the posting is false or misleading. Following is a list of some of those statements:
1) It is false to claim there is a Cash4Gold “scam.” Furthermore, no employee is ever taught such a “scam.”
2) It is false to claim that the company insures the refiner’s pack “according to how much they feel your items are worth.” In fact, the insurance on the refiner’s pack is provided free of charge by the company and is not based on any assessment by the company of the value of the items being sent. (How could the company evaluate items before they are received?)
3) It is false to claim that the company doesn’t tell customers when their pack is received. In fact, the company immediately tracks items received and there is no delay in so informing those who inquire.
4) It is false to suggest the company uses inappropriate or insufficient methods for evaluating jewelry. In fact, Cash4Gold uses state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to evaluate precious metals. The methods used are well-known among jewelry experts and Cash4Gold’s proprietary standards far exceed those of competitors.
5) It is false to claim that the company’s site has been closed for “health” violations.  In fact, the refinery and testing facility are A-rated by OSHA for being safe environments.
6) It is false to claim that checks are dated 3-4 days before they are sent out. In fact, as an internal audit recently confirmed, checks are dated the same day they are sent out.

It is false to claim the company shortcuts the 10-day period for customers to ask for their items back. In fact, the company makes it very easy to ask for the return of materials – by phone, e-mail or mail – and holds items for an extra 5 days beyond the 10 to accommodate such requests. This is supported by the fact that very few customers complain that they missed the time period cutoff.
8) It is false to claim that it is difficult for customers to get through to the company’s customer service representatives. In fact, the company has invested significant resources in customer service and has call metrics consistent with industry standards. Nine out of 10 calls are answered within one minute and anyone making even a modest effort to reach customer service will have no problems.
9) It is false to claim that “97% of the time customers are outraged” by the amount offered. In fact, quite the opposite is true. More than 93% of customers cash the Cash4Gold check and are satisfied with the transaction.
10) It is false, insupportable and abhorrent to claim that the company has ever denied receiving an item so that top executives can “get first dibs.”  This is tantamount to an accusation of theft and we would encourage anyone with evidence of such a crime to report it to the police. It is simply false, defamatory and irresponsible to make such a claim.
ThHere are clear facts and documents related to these matters and this list does not include every falsehood in the posting.
ThThank you for your prompt attention to this matter.  I look forward to hearing back from you with regard to immediate steps you are taking to remove this defamatory content from your site.
RRegards,
Weronika

The complaint was about an earlier story at http://emsnews.wordpress.com/2009/02/01/wave-goodbye-to-more-billionaires/ where I talked about the online web problems of Cash 4 Gold (their link was broken!).

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

Nowhere in any of my postings did I conceal the truth, lie or even endorse either the complaints OR the Cash 4 Gold defenses.  Instead of being reasonable, Cash 4 Gold tried to get WordPress to censor me.  I am very puzzled here.  Am I supposed to remove the URLs that go to Cash 4 Gold?  Why?  Only if they ceased business, would I have to do this.  Their links are PUBLIC INFORMATION ON THE WEB.  I hope WordPress figures this out.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

I would like to see the documentation Cash 4 Gold gave WordPress.  When a hedge fund in England threatened me after I correctly reported they were going under, I fought back and won.  And the hedge fund went bankrupt and this proved that my reporting was 100% correct.  If Cash 4 Gold is upset about other people (NOT ME) running a web site where people complain, then they should go to that site and fight them, not me.  I merely linked to a legitimate site.  If they want me to remove that link in particular, I might do that but still retain the stories there.  If they have a legal document that has eliminated the stories I linked to, I can fix that to show the corrections.

But no one in WordPress has given me anything except a curt yelp that I should eliminate links to Cash 4 Gold.  I seriously doubt this is Cash 4 Gold’s intention.  They want no one to be allowed to publish complaints about their business.  And again, this violates our Constitutional right to free speech.  Any organization can defend itself via using positive information.  If someone is lying, they can go after the liar.  But if someone reports the existence of a website that has complaints, this is NOT illegal but is news reporting.  One could say, ‘These websites are probably false’ except in the case of Cash 4 Gold, they didn’t stop there.  They had to threaten me.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

I published their entire rebuttal.  This is my courtesy to them.  Instead of resting their case, they have suddenly gone after me again.  I suspect, people are clicking on my link.  The price of gold has gone up and up and Cash 4 Gold is anxious for customers.  If they are so anxious, being NICE to me would work wonders for them.  Instead, they are being nasty.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

This causes me to be very suspicious of them.  Ahem.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

No surprise.  I hope WordPress talks to me.  This is most annoying.  They should prepare themselves for a fight because I am in the right and Cash 4 Gold is totally in the wrong here.

    HAHAHAHA.

The creeps didn’t offer me any money. Thanks a billion for the link! I will use it in my court case I am thinking of launching.

  3. Duski

Hahaha! Why are they so stupid? If they only let it be there would be MUCH less visibility on your old report about them, now by raising a ruckus all your new readers will probably read that story as well.

How stupid can these corporations get?

  4. emsnews

Well, it turned out, after I had many bitter email exchanges with the clueless guy at WordPress, WordPress itself censored me for no good reason at all!

I am happy I managed to pull this out of them via some very forceful language. Good grief! I pay $100 a year for this torture!

So my anger is now very much with this service here. Or rather, non-service.

If you google Weronika (W as in ‘Wagner’ not ‘wuss’, as she says) Cwir you find all sorts of PR issues being fought by Saylor via Cwir.

Cash4Gold being particularly aggressive in this kind of thing.

Elaine, you need to hook up with the consumerist. (http://consumerist.com/tag/cash4gold/)

  10. I’ll admit, our service is a RIPOFF. We’ll only pay you 10-15% of what the value of Gold is worth. Our customer service sucks and the chance of you getting your material back is zero to none. Don’t deal with us. The other 85% of you money will go to our stupid advertising.

  13. Budget Dedicated Servers

Perhaps your business has grown to a point where you no longer want to use a shared server. It may be time for you to seek out a dedicated server, but you do not want to end up costing you a lot of money. You can find a budget dedicated server by perusing some of the dedicated server directories online.

Finding a web site host on the internet can be a bit overwhelming. When you first began your internet business, you most likely used a shared server to host your business website. Shared servers have their advantages. They are generally inexpensive and many even offer templates to build your own website. When you first got started on your internet business, you probably chose the most inexpensive and easy to use shared server that you could find to host your website. You may even have allowed them to place ads on your website.

Not all shared websites have mandatory ads. Some of them even allow you to place your own ads. If you have incorporated ads into your website, such as with Adsense, you may even have earned extra revenue from your website, in addition to selling your products. One of the drawbacks of a shared server, however, is that you are limited when it comes to both space and bandwidth. The server can only handle a certain amount of traffic at one time. If you are sharing the server with a bunch of other businesses getting substantial traffic to their websites, your customers may be having a difficult time getting to your website. You could actually be losing sales without even knowing it, simply because you are using the wrong server.

A dedicated server can cost quite a bit more money per month, but it is your server. You have control over it and you no longer have to worry about sharing it with other websites. Your customers will be able to access your site with ease. Years ago, people used to have party lines on telephones. Four families would often share a phone line. Only one family could be on the phone at a time and each family would have a certain distinctive ring when the phone was for them. There was very little privacy as anyone could listen into a call and it was frustrating if you wanted to make a call and someone else was on the party line.

Shared servers are similar to those party lines of long ago. The same way we do not want to share our telephone line with others, if we have a large business and substantial traffic, we do not want our customers being turned away because someone else is on the “party line.” A dedicated server does not have to cost a fortune. You can find a budget dedicated server in a variety of places on the internet. You can find a budget dedicated server that will offer no start up costs for as low as $100 per month. The difference in web hosting cost may be a bit more money, but may save you money in the long run by allowing increased traffic to your website.
