Sun Is Active Again And Other Scary Things

ΩΩThe sun reawakens with a big hiccup!  Now…we will see a warmer earth, as per usual when the sun is increasingly active.  Also, China is extremely active, too.  As the US misspends our debt money on more futile wars, China is surging into the future leaving us literally in the dust.  More natural and diplomatic news, all of this is intertwined greatly with the US left behind nearly everyone in every level. Each of our diplomatic ‘victories’ destroys our nation more and more..

ΩΩFirst, ‘the sky is falling’ news: the greatest dangers to Life On Earth happen to be exo-planetary.  That is, stuff happening to us in outer space.  Nearly every major extinction event has been driven by events that happen to the earth from the outside: asteroids hitting the earth, comets slamming into the oceans or setting most of North America on fire, nearby stars suddenly going nova and spewing our planet with all sorts of interesting debris, or of course, changes in the energy output of the sun.

.

ΩΩPlanetary events hammer Life On Earth, too: volcanoes and mega-storms.  Major eruptions, especially rift events such as the one in India or Russia or the Pacific Northwest that cover thousands of square miles with lava as well as hot spot volcanoes like Yellowstone can also create extinction events but the mega-extinctions virtually all were triggered by celestial disasters.

.

ΩΩUp until the last 100 years or so, most living things were blissfully unaware of these celestial dangers.  What humans feared and still paradoxically fear the most are stellar events which are pretty harmless such as solar eclipses or the constellations that rise on the eastern horizon on the Vernal Equinox shifting over the centuries from one zodiac house to the next on the epileptic.  These events cause whole civilizations to go insane with fear and new religions are born and people kill each other in despair.

.

ΩΩBut the rest of Nature ignores all of that.  Over the years, I have watched End of Times Apocalyptic fears rise higher and higher due to the slow decay of the Age of Pisces and the huge stellar group gap between this era and the Aquarius era is causing human distress to a very great degree.  This soupcon of dread and foreboding feeds frenzies of fear that leach into nearly everything.  For example, the latest solar event is causing some amusing headlines such as this:  Nasa scientists braced for ‘solar tsunami’ to hit earth – Telegraph

The Daily Telegraph disclosed in June that senior space agency scientists believed the Earth will be hit with unprecedented levels of magnetic energy from solar flares after the Sun wakes “from a deep slumber” sometime around 2013.  It remains unclear, however, how much damage this latest eruption will cause the world’s communication tools.

.

ΩΩTime to go visit the official observers of the sun and see if they are running around in a panic.  As I expected, they are not.  On the other hand, my grandfather, who used to watch the sun at Dr. Hubble’s private solar observatory in Pasadena used to say to me, ‘If the sun does anything, you have plenty of time to panic’.  8 minutes, at least, he would add, smiling.

.

SDO – Solar Dynamics Observatory

On August 1, 2010 SDO observed a beautiful prominence eruption that may hit Earth and cause a geomagnetic storm. As the solar cycle progresses and the Sun becomes more active there will be many more opportunities to observe the causes of space weather.  Want to see what happens? Follow the event at spaceweather.com

.

SpaceWeather.com — News and information about meteor showers, solar flares, auroras, and near-Earth asteroids

On August 1st, the entire Earth-facing side of the sun erupted in a tumult of activity. There was a C3-class solar flare, a solar tsunami, multiple filaments of magnetism lifting off the stellar surface, large-scale shaking of the solar corona, radio bursts, a coronal mass ejection and more.

.

ΩΩAll stars that go nova send out blasts of radio bursts and ultraviolet light.  This is the scary part of the sun’s behavior.  Black holes are notorious for their radio activity just as the US far right wing hogs radio activity, too.  Hahaha.

.

ΩΩIce cores give us hints about solar activity in the past.  At various times during this present Ice Age yo-yo cycle, the sun has been incredibly active as well as quite passive.  One would suggest the sun is rather unstable.  This is a scary thought so many people prefer to pretend humans can control things even though we can barely control our tempers when dealing with our own families.  We itch to blow up and perhaps, so does the sun.

.

ΩΩThe sun is very interesting and little understood though we get better at this over time if we don’t go hysterical or try to minimize the tremendous power and control the local star has over events here on earth.  I do say, if the sun gets active again, we shall have warmer weather.  If volcanoes get active, it will chill down.  If we get a quiet sun and lots of volcanic action, we get an Ice Age.  This, I worry about but can do nothing.

.

ΩΩWe do control pollution which is probably why we have calls for CO2 controls.  The ‘controls’ being proposed are worse than useless, of course, since the polluters (mainly, the rich) want to keep polluting so they want restrictions on energy use by peasants so they can sleep well imagining their happy rich lives will continue blissfully forever.  Mother Nature, on the other hand, does what she pleases and this includes dropping stuff on top of the planet, killing most everything.

.

ΩΩNow on to a more reassuring topic: there are floods in Asia!  Ooops.  Thousands of people are dying in Pakistan.  China had floods, too, but since they also have a sovereign government that cares for the people there instead of letting aliens in the US attack them with assassin robot drones, the deaths in China, thanks mainly to massive dam building,  have been pretty minimal considering the size of the population.

.

ΩΩBut in Pakistan, it has been terrible for Pakistan is very much like Haiti including the high birthrate and the lack of social services coupled with a history of being run by aliens in Europe or the US for nefarious ends rather than fixing the home base like China has done after violently shoving all the aliens out of the front and back doors.  Sovereignty: a great thing if you can get it!

.

ΩΩNow, on to economic news which is always interesting in the short run (that is, less than 100 million years):  independent.co: uk  home-value-falls-£94-billion

It was the second successive year of falls after an unbroken sequence of growth stretching back to 1992 – although the decline was not as steep as the 4.3%, or £303 billion, slide in 2008.  Housing remained the UK’s most valuable asset – up £126 billion or 3.2% to £4.05 trillion over the year and accounting for 61% of the country’s net worth.

.

But this was more than offset by a £450 billion fall in the value of private non-financial businesses, while several other sectors such as central government also had a negative net worth, according to the ONS.

.

ΩΩIsn’t housing inflation wonderful?  This value is all about being allowed to accumulate debt.  This is NOT production.  This is NOT capital creation.  These houses are NOT farms that produce more goods and services.  These are mostly mere dwellings where people park themselves part of the day.  These things are NOT exportable.  This is NOT capitalist production systems.  China is frantically building mega-production and transportation systems while the US, UK and associated satellite states like Australia are building dwellings for the population instead.

.

ΩΩAs I detailed in the past here, England is selling off, to the Chinese, all of the infrastructure systems which are associated with building capitalist wealth.  England’s biggest ‘industry’ is now debt creation via bankers using various carry trade interest rate deals.  For more housing or mergers of existing businesses or selling these to the Asians or OPEC.

.

ΩΩAll Presidents since Nixon have pretended to fret about our eternal trade deficits with the entire planet but all of them since Reagan have chosen very stupidly to export our way out of the deep pit we are in. Of course, this ‘we export to everyone who is reaming us out in trade’ has been a total, roaring, immense, multi-trillion dollar catastrophe:  Commerce Secretary Gary Locke Highlights Expanded Partnership With UPS Designed to Boost U.S. Exports | Department of Commerce

U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke visited the UPS Global Operations Center in Louisville, Ky., today to highlight opportunities for local Kentucky businesses to sell their goods and services abroad and support job creation in their community. Locke toured the facility and held a discussion with local business owners on how the Commerce Department can help them grow their businesses and create jobs. Expanding on an existing partnership, UPS has joined with the Commerce Department to identify new markets for current exporters and potential candidates to expand their exports with the help of Department resources through the New Market Exporter Initiative.

.

Commerce’s partnership with UPS is one way the Department is working to achieve the goals of President Obama’s National Export Initiative (NEI), which aims to double U.S. exports over the next five years in support of 2 million American jobs. Since 2007, UPS has been a partner with Commerce’s export-promotion arm, the U.S. Commercial Service, a division of the Department’s International Trade Administration.

.

ΩΩUPS makes oodles of money bringing us Asian goodies.  Going in partnership with them is total insanity.  Protectionism=buy locally as much as possible.  Buy foreign goods only when necessary.  Shipping companies that thrive on moving things from as far away as possible are in a steep conflict of interest when it comes to saving our home industries.  And of course, are very, very eager to work with our treasonous Department of Commerce to continue ravaging our home industries.

.

ΩΩAnd who are we going to target for exports?  China??? Japan???  Or maybe Haiti: the local industries there barely exist at this point after 100 years of US domination and ‘aid.’  Even farming is rapidly being killed off there as well as in Mexico and other near neighbors who trade with us.  The US exports lots of food as if we are what Russia was 150 years ago or Egypt 2,000 years ago.  Breadbasket to the world run by quasi-peasant labor (in our case, from Central America) and owned by wealthy landlords (most small farmers have been slaughtered).

.

ΩΩChina’s Geely completes acquisition of Volvo – Yahoo! Finance: China is moving deeper into the Industrial Revolution while the US turns itself into a peasant/landlord/bank owner country.  Both Europe and the US are losing in this game and will continue to lose to lower wage rising industrial powers in Asia.  Asians are not like say, African cultures or MesoAmerican cultures: they all respect and desire education and work very hard to attain this.  They hate being peasants and most dream of holding honorable positions which are due to higher education.  This is why they cannot be dismissed or discounted, cynically.

.

ΩΩWe are in this deadly race and have chosen to export our literate jobs right on the heels of exporting our laboring class jobs!  This catastrophe is getting worse and worse very rapidly and of course, our government refuses to stop the process which is why they yap about ‘export more’ when it is painfully obvious the main thing we are exporting are our jobs.

.

ΩΩAs I predicted, the Chinese dragon slaps the US in the face by going off to Cuba and kissing the Castro regime:  Chinese FM lauds friendship with Cuba, sees great cooperation potential

(Xinhua) — Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Saturday said that China and Cuba share profound traditional friendship and huge potential for boosting bilateral cooperation.

.

In an interview on his ongoing trip to the Caribbean island state, Yang spoke highly of the friendship between the two countries, which he said has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the two peoples.

.

Noting that Cuba was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic ties with China, the top Chinese diplomat said that the China-Cuba relations, characterized by friendly cooperation of mutual benefits, have stood various tests during the past five decades despite the constant changes of the volatile international situation.

.

ΩΩGitmo will soon (ie: in my lifetime) be Chinese.  This is an easy prediction to make.  The US seized this property under false charges over 100 years ago and has kept it despite it being totally illegal.  The Maine blew up due to internal problems.  Sort of like our empire.  Our recent attempt at poking China in the eye by doing extensive military moves on China’s front doorstep with the excuse of the South Korean ship sinking has totally outraged China.

.

ΩΩThe recent ASEAN move to muscle China by egging on Vietnam into a quasi-military confrontation in the South China Seas had to be dealt with and kissing Cuba is the ideal way to punish the US. Eventually, China will have nuclear missiles in Cuba.  Just like the US and the LDP conspired to secretly base nukes aimed at China in Okinawa.  A thing that was uncovered just this spring and which caused great fury in Okinawa.

New Silk Road by China Binds Asia to Latin America (Update1) – Bloomberg.com

The high-speed rail link China Railway Construction Corp. is building in Saudi Arabia doesn’t just connect the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. It shows how Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America are holding the world economy together.

.

Ties between emerging markets form what economists at HSBC Holdings Plc and Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc call the “new Silk Road” — a $2.8-trillion version of the Asian-focused network of trade routes along which commerce prospered starting in about the second century.

.

ΩΩAll the great empires used rail to expand.  The US couldn’t control the native Indian tribes of the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains until the Intercontinental Rail was hammered into place using cheap Irish, German, Eastern European and Chinese labor.    Once in place, it was a piece of cake, herding the natives into smaller and smaller, weaker and poorer enclaves.

.

ΩΩAt this time, Russia expanded all the way across Siberia, taking over it and confronting China in Manchuria.  Germany, France and the UK forced China to give land for rails, too and this led to the destruction of the Chinese empire which didn’t build these train lines itself.  Japan, on the other hand, insisted on building their own rails and were not taken over the imperialists.

.

ΩΩHere is an interesting concept from China melding public transportation with auto traffic: 3D Express Coach : China Plans Huge Buses That Can DRIVE OVER Cars

ΩΩThese ‘buses’ are actually dual level trains which run on low tracks.  Cars drive through the ‘tunnels’ and if stalled by heavy traffic, the ‘buses’ can continue moving forwards.  I see one problem here: cars jamming the track lane so they straddle it.  There has to be a designated car/train route that doesn’t allow this sort of lane shift.  That is, this can only be for express lanes.

.

ΩΩAn interesting concept.  Too bad, we aren’t entertaining such things, here.  The monorail business was too expensive to build and maintain.  Evidently, this concept is supposed to be much cheaper.

.

Chinese FM: ‘No power shift Eastward’

“There has been an argument that the gravity of world power is shifting from the West to the East, but it is a view hard to be subscribed.

.

The emerging trend in the world today is the gradual evolution of world power towards relative equilibrium. It is an inevitable outcome of the growing move toward multi-polarity and of deepening economic globalization and rapid revolution in science and technology.”

.

ΩΩChina is spending time trying to reassure everyone, the Dragon won’t run the world.  But of course, the Dragon WILL run the world when the US goes bankrupt.  China will, by then, have the mega-infrastructure needed to run a modern civilization whereas everyone who is owed money by the US and who didn’t build Chinese-style modern systems will be left bankrupt, too.

.

ΩΩEurope, anxious to appease the US and thus, cutting off their own economic noses to keep access to open US markets, has made their stupid and ridiculous embargo of Iran even nastier.  In retaliation, Iran is going to move their currency out of euros and into other currencies. Asia Times Online :: Middle East News, Iraq, Iran current affairs

In light of Iran’s serious need for foreign capital in its energy sector, the crippling effect of Western sanctions on its oil and gas is bound to have ripple effects in accentuating Europe’s current energy insecurity, reflected in the 27-member EU’s wariness of undue dependence on Russia and its frantic search to diversify sources of gas imports….By imposing sanctions on Iran’s energy sector while expecting business as usual in the delivery of oil and gas, European politicians are engaging in the self-deluding notion that somehow they can be at the forefront of the sanctions regime on Iran without incurring substantial costs.

.

Already, Iran has warned that it may switch its energy transactions from the euro to other currencies, above all the dirham of the United Arab Emirates. The mere threat of such a move simply adds to the euro’s weaknesses at a critical time when the eurozone is grappling with multiple difficulties in its currency and financial health.

.

ΩΩA general rule of thumb of life: if you poke someone in the eye, don’t be surprised if they give you a punch in the stomach or a kick in the balls.  One can keep doing this as the US is doing in Afghanistan, until someone is beat to death but I don’t recommend this.  The best thing to do is to walk away or win the fight.  Fighting with one’s energy delivery person is stupid.  Europe is fighting with Russia and Russia grins and squeezes Europe’s balls and so Europe wants someone else to sell them energy.

.

ΩΩIn walks Iran and gets punched in the eye.  So, the potential for a Iran/Russian/Chinese troika grows despite Iranian fury whenever Russia or China choose to humor the US for various nefarious reasons.  The Iranians know this and have to learn how to play with this and I would suggest, their learning curve is quick. They are not ignorant desert people or poor peasants like the dangerous Afghanis, they are highly civilized and educated.  Sort of like the Chinese.

.

ΩΩThe UK is going down fast:  Britain’s military braced for sharp spending cuts | Antiwar Newswire. The last dredges of this former empire are expiring really fast.  The Queen clings to her crown and palaces and is in no danger of being guillotined…yet.  Enough social spending cuts and she might get the chop-chop.

.

ΩΩHere is some interesting German labor news:  Labor chief opposes welcome bonus for foreign workers | Business | Deutsche Welle

“We have to use the potential we already have here in the country,” Frank-Juergen Weise, head of the Federal Labor Agency, told the Financial Times Deutschland on Monday. “We can’t allow people to remain in unemployment only because their talents aren’t being used.”

.

Last week, Bruederle called for Germany to open its doors to skilled workers abroad, and suggested that businesses use financial incentives to attract employees.

.

Economic experts in Germany have warned that by 2014, the country will be lacking more than 200,000 engineers, scientists, and technicians. Many German companies are already complaining about a shortage of skilled workers.

.

ΩΩGermany sells a lot of high end technology to China.  I would predict that Chinese engineers and scientists as well as poorly paid Indian ones will flood into Germany.  Ich spreche deutsch und es ist einfact zu lehrnen.  English is still the chief language learned overseas but in Asia, German has quite a following even as it dies here in the US.

.

ΩΩAlan Greenspan: Extending Bush Tax Cuts Without Paying For Them Could Be ‘Disastrous’: Greenspan should be sent to China and executed but they love him because he destroyed America.  When Bush decided to cut taxes and go to war, Greenspan loved this.  Now that a Democrat is running things, Greenspan wants a balanced budget.  But when Greenspan was hired by Reagan, he wanted tax cuts.  He should burn in hell.  With his senile dead and living friends.

.

ΩΩUS Has Plan to Attack Iran, Mullen Admits — News from Antiwar.com: and this ends today’s wheel barrel load of junk.  WWIII will be so amusing, this is where we can imitate asteroid hits or the sun exploding.  This is far, far more dangerous than global warming by a long shot.

“If you poke someone in the eye, don’t be surprised when they give you a punch in the stomach or a kick in the balls.” The public has been poked in the eye fairly regularly by a Congress whose main business seems to be racketeering … selling “protection” from its own regulatory laws to favored corporate interests. This “protection racket” is becoming more exposed, to increasing public disgust.

The Sun and Too-Big-To-Fail speculators have teamed up to cause pricing chaos, land grabs, war and anarchy, thanks to rampant speculation in basic foodstuffs, oil, metals, natural gas and other critical inputs into the real economy (you know, the one that produces goods that support humanity’s life force, as opposed to the one that transfers wealth to financial casinos). Failed wheat crop in Russia? Starvation and misery for the millions, profit-and-bonus time for the few. All in good fun, especially when all that’s at risk is taxpayer money, not your own capital. Trading algorithms make the job easy, too. No real work involved, we have a team of modelers in India churning out Poindexter predictions and adjusting those models based on the latest wild pricing gyrations. Bloomberg Markets’ “ETFs gone Wild” warns that commodities markets “stuffed with exotic derivatives” are poised to detonate like the dot-com and housing bubbles … Prices for essential assets needed for food production and manufacturing are now driven more by Wall Street’s derivative-leveraged financial speculation than by the weather, adding wild swings in volatility and trillions in new global derivatives risks. In Africa and other parts of the world, this is already spilling over into land grabs and bloodshed as the Players buy up vast tracts of land to control essential commodities and force small farmers off the land. While ETF managers must trade at set times, the ‘professionals’ at Citi, JPM, and Golden Sacks aren’t operating under similar limitations: “They can buy next month ahead of the big programmed rolls or sell ahead of the ETF, pushing down the price investors get paid for expiring futures.”

As futures returns drop, investors chase riskier deals, tying up precious resources. “Passive buy-and-hold investors… in mid-2008 held the equivalent of three years of production of soft red winter wheat. Wall Street’s success in attracting those buyers boosted demand for futures contracts, which helped determine what consumers would pay for baked goods. Wheat prices jumped 52% in early 2008, setting records before plunging again, and sugar more than doubled last year even as the economy slowed.” Warning: Capitalism’s competitive pricing model is dead” notes commentary from Market Watch in the excellent blog, The Automatic Earth

    http://theautomaticearth.blogspot.com/

Fredrick Kaufman’s recent Harper Magazine article notes that “the history of food took an ominous turn in 1991 … Goldman’s analysts went about transforming food into a concept,” by creating ‘the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index.’ Other bankers invented more indexes. Money flooded in. Suddenly Wall Street speculators ruled the commodity-pricing market. What used to be a hedge for farmers became just another way for Wall Street traders and their sophisticated algorithms to make easy profits off “dumb money.”‘

@Elaine, “People pissing or flushing meds are causing much pollution.”

You are so right! Recycled piss, meds, and stuff are a huge problem.

Chlorine purification of water is a lousy solution. Chlorine reacting with the food we eat may be the single biggest cause of human cancer. Unfortunately, tPTB love chlorine lobbyists.

Ozone purifies water best. All the piss, meds, and stuff in the water are completely oxidized … their chemical compounds torn to bits.

Knowing that much of my food has been treated with pesticides, herbicides, and assorted dirty lobbyicides, especially apples, I soak them in ozonated water first. And eat chemical free ever after.

    @ziff house

Much obliged for sending the solar irradiance reference.

I read the article and comments and found the science wanting, until comment #14 posted by Engelbeen, who hit the nail on the head IMHO.

    Engelbeen:

“As far as I know, not one of the current climate models includes the cloud cover response to the solar cycle, neither to longer time changes in solar activity.

    Conclusion:
The science about the different sensitivities (solar, volcanic, GHGs, aerosols and their feedbacks) is far from settled. What is clear is that solar influences are underestimated in all current climate models.”

For instance, in Philadelphia, very high UV Index Levels noted daily under clear skies have increased ~50% in the last four years. Under attenuated skies (cloudy), very high UV Index Levels noted daily have increased ~ 400% in the same time frame.

Cloudy (chemtrail) skies not only trap more CO2 in the Troposphere, but facilitate the transmission to earth of additional short wave UV-b radiation.

*Ozone is heavily weighted in calculating the UV Index.

International use of many jets is beclouding the skies. But this isn’t due to ‘chemtrails’ but rather jet water vapor events in the high stratosphere. If there is no moisture, there are no jet trails. But if there is moisture, the high cloud cover is greatly increased by jet turbulence.
