Blowing Hot and Cold: The Yin Yang Of The Universe

Once again, the sun is reviving its extra-Xray activity so…it will be warmer rather than colder.  But if the volcanos activate their own agenda and spew more dust into the stratosphere, it will be colder and more snow will fall.  This is our planet’s yin/yang system at work.  Back about 40 years ago, due to heavy volcanic activity, much of science and literature and the common mind was fixated on the history of the Ice Ages and the universe getting colder and colder as the fires of creation fade to ice.  Now, all the dreams and thoughts have been focused on the universe burning up and our planet getting very hot, too, to boot.  Both emotions are reactions to uncertainty and life is full of that, it is certain (sorry, I had to write that)

ΩΩWe don’t control very much in the universe.  We control very little of this planet and above all, we struggle to control our own passions and fears. Our brains are as much unexplored territory and our emotions are barely containable, nay, we struggle to understand even the overt expressions of our inner mind’s chaos which has festered and grown for hundreds of millions of years, the eldest life form responses to the hazards of reality buried the deepest, yet just as potent and powerful as the more recently evolved parts of the brain.  The least capable part of the brain when it comes to this seething ancient history of inner emotions is our forebrain, the part that evolved to deal with creating fire, building a family, hunting and cheating each other.

ΩΩThat is, we rationalize all of our emotional chaos.  The goal: survival of the fittest.  The fittest aren’t the smartest.  They are the ones who can cope with their own emotional chaos and still keep children and grandchildren alive.  No survivor is a genetic survivor if they have no offspring.  Nature is cruel in this regard.  In human societies, the social systems created by sacrificing one’s genetic future can be great, but in the end, it is all biological.

ΩΩI find is very interesting, this debate ongoing about the end of societies and humans, etc.  It is a fascinating discussion filled with fear which interests me because this is an outpouring of fear due to the sad fact, we are the animals who can imagine a future.  This means, unlike other animals, we can see Death.  Death is an entity, not an event.  It means, unlike animals without forebrains like ours (who knows what whales and dolphins think about Death?), when we are healthy and happy, we still think about Death.

ΩΩAll feelings and speculations about Death permeate all cultures.  There have been various tricks used to reassure people about Death.  For example, the invention of a ‘heaven’ which led to the creation of ‘hell’.  Yin/yang beliefs spring up unasked, this seems to be a rigid law of reality.  Nothing is one-directional forever.  This goes back to my theme of the ‘hockey stick graph’: nothing, not even imaginary things, can go to infinity forever.  Once they begin that severe climb to eternity, they vanish.  How odd is that?

ΩΩThe ancient Hindu belief of a wheel of reincarnation proved a sturdy vehicle for infinity fears.  Naturally, do note that this huge belief system, once it matured, suddenly created the anti-reincarnation vehicle: Buddhism.  In that one, the human suffering from fears of seeing the face of Death escapes this by becoming nothing.  By thinking nothing and doing less and less and then finally starving oneself to death, one reached this anti-reincarntion cycle and froze into place in Nirvana.  Again: the active, hot yin versus the cold, inert yang beliefs echo the infinity/zero system of the Cave of Wealth and Death.

ΩΩNaturally, both belief systems are set up to escape the logic of the Cave of and Death.  For example, the Buddhists believed that money was useless if things were going to vanish to nothingness.  Yet, over the centuries, all wealth of Buddhist cultures flowed into the temples and into the hands of the priests!  As money does in all zero/freeze into place religions.  Like with the Catholic Church in medieval Europe, for example.

ΩΩThe communist beliefs illustrate this again: the communists believed in world revolution, activism, sharing things, reproducing things via mass manufacturing and mass political actions, conscription of citizens to fight ideological wars, etc.  The capitalists were the opposite: seizure of wealth, enslavement of distant peoples, the restrictions of credit via the gold standard, freezing social positions in place with no one rising or falling into various social or political classes.  This is the revolutionary/reactionary yin/yang system.

ΩΩRight now, the West is very much in the grip of a yang/conservative/freeze into place cycle.  Yet, the fear we see is all about HEAT, not cold!  Why is this?

ΩΩAh!  This is where understanding systems matters a lot!  You see, what the global warming people fear is…HEAT!  No!  We dare not heat up the planet!  It must be COLDER!  Ah, the light turns on, doesn’t it?  Revolutionaries love heat.  Conservatives want cold.  Across the planet we see revolutionaries in Muslim countries on the rise, daring to fight their own dictators put in power and maintained there by the freezing cold maniacs of the Western world.  I would suggest Muslims are now the ‘hot’ people whereas the US and Europe and Israel are freezing cold.

ΩΩAnyway, the Sun Erupts in Humongous Solar Flare | Sun Cycles, Solar Flares, Class X, Space Weather | Space.com

• The mega flare, which registered as a Class X2.2 flare on the scale of solar flares, was the first class X flare to occur in the new solar cycle of activity, which began last year. The sun is now ramping up toward a solar maximum around 2013.   The Monday flare came on the heels of another, only slightly less powerful, class M6.6 flare on Sunday, Feb. 13. Both events erupted from the same area on the sun, called active region 1158.

ΩΩYes, the sun has its own yin/yang cycles.  When it is yin, we have warm weather.  When it is yang, we get cold.  Since the dawn of humanity, actually, we are the offspring of the sun’s mega-yang cycle in that our apish ancestors died in huge numbers as the planet got much, much colder than all previous cycles.  The survivors were clever in that they could do this amazing yin thing no other animal on earth can do: create and control fire.  This enabled our species to explode across the planet since we can ignore the yang area’s severe cold. By stealing the hides and fur of animals who passively evolved to endure the cold of the new yang Ice Age cycles, humans were able to expand much faster than mere biological evolution could enable us.

ΩΩThat is, we are yin/yang creatures unlike virtually any on earth.  We can do both!  Right now, the yang culture of the West is causing great fear due to worries that our planet, which has had constantly changing climates for the last billion years will…change!  Imagine that!  The oceans have risen and fallen frequently since the first single celled organisms appeared.  The oceans will do this even if humans were to vanish.  The stability of climate on planets happens only if they become totally yin or totally yang.  That is, if they become like Mars and Venus.

ΩΩWhat interests me here is, Mars is the male/yin star/planet in mythology and Venus is female/yang planet…but in reality, Venus is the hot/yin planet and Mars is heading towards cold/yang flatline systems.  That is, Venus grows hotter and hotter and Mars, colder and colder as the atmosphere in Venus is dense and Mars is being sucked away.  Meanwhile, the earth still is the ‘happy medium’, that is Libra.‘‘

ΩΩHumans are not a happy medium.  This is because we reproduce.  Across the planet, we see many populations, nearly all of whom are in very hot places, shooting upwards.  Indeed, there is a very strong ‘yin climates have high birthrates’ versus ‘yang climates have low to vanishing birthrates’.  Here is a news story designed to fill us with fear:  Special report: Catastrophic drought in the Amazon – The Independent

ΩΩYes, there are droughts in various places (as ALWAYS, especially during Ice Ages!) but…these are mainly caused by humans cutting down the forest canopies in hot places and this is due to high population pressures thanks to the US and others not encouraging birth controls.  Almost all religions have this yin/yang aspect about human reproduction.  Example: when the anti-yin Buddhists and anti-yin Christians took over their societies, they encouraged a mass movement to monasteries where people ceased having babies.

ΩΩThis, in turn, caused populations to decrease and the forest superstructure to expand.  But this also kills a society so they are either overrun by barbarians or they restrict the yang system and allow only a select few into monasteries while preaching the need to reproduce.  So marriage, which was considered evil by early Christians soon became a good thing for the majority and today, the Church demands children be produced as much as possible.

ΩΩBrazil is a Catholic country and doesn’t encourage birth control.  So it is cutting down the forests and desperately trying to export people.  Instead of stopping the production of people, this continues at a mad rate while in the cold yang North, we have scientists and activists screaming, we should pretty much cease mass production and thus, save the planet.  While not demanding Brazil stop mass producing humans.

ΩΩMeanwhile, the planet has its own plans:  Icelandic volcano `looks set to erupt dwarfing last year`s devastation`

• Pall Einarsson, a professor of geophysics at the University of Iceland, says the area around Bardarbunga is showing signs of increased activity, which provides ‘good reason to worry’.

ΩΩInevitably, volcanos will erupt.  The Yellowstone monster, one of the biggest caldera eruptives on earth, is about due for a big burp.  This, in turn, could even trigger an Ice Age.  This may please the ‘cold as hell’ people but it causes me rather a bit of concern since my home is right where a mile of ice could reappear if we have another Ice Age.

• Scientists continue to debate the eventual fate of the universe, but if the accelerating universe theory holds up, so does our cosmos’ eventual “heat death.” All matter in the universe will grow further and further apart, until hardly any galaxies or stars will be visible from our tiny corner of the Milky Way.

• In fact, some physicists estimate that, although there are roughly 100 billion galaxies in the universe, within 150 billion years only a few thousand would be visible from earth — not that we’d notice. By that time, our sun would have burned out long ago. Even black holes would evaporate away into energy.

ΩΩHAHAHAHA….oh my.  How does this fit in with the reality that everywhere our telescopes look, we see galaxies falling TOWARDS each other?  We are falling towards Andromeda!  Andromeda isn’t moving in a straight line away from is, it is CIRCLING us and we are in a gravity pool which is the outer reaches of the Great Attractor which features many galaxies circling this massive black hole system!  How yang is this????  Certainly, I see no signs of the universe flying apart at all and if people were honest, even scientists would have to figure out that the universe operates in a circular fashion just like all the smaller parts of this from atoms on up.

ΩΩAh!  This means we move…from yin to yang as the moon circles the earth and the shadow of the planet moves across the moon, eclipsing it, from the moon’s perspective, that is.  Just as we now know that the earth circles the sun, so we have to understand that all galaxies circle the deeper gravity pools of the biggest galaxies (the Great Attractor, etc).  And this means…we won’t suddenly be burned to a cinder, we will probably be crushed to smithereens in about 20 billion+ years.  A total yang situation, or rather, temporary since this event will probably cause a massive yin event: another Big Bang.

ΩΩHere is a story I was going to do on Valentine’s day except I ended up working all day removing literally tons of ice from roofs instead.  Hacking away with an axe and then throwing 100 pound chunks to the ground where they plunked onto huge snowbanks…isn’t global warming fun?  Anyway, if you are investing in commodities, chocolate futures may be fun:   Savour that chocolate while you can still afford it – The Globe and Mail

• The industry has been ignoring a looming supply problem, one that’s been brought into sharp focus by a political eruption in Ivory Coast, the world’s top cocoa-producing nation. Productivity on farms is not keeping pace with demand. Fatal diseases plague the crops. The soils cocoa grows in are depleted. Consumer demand, though, is growing. As standards of living improve in China and India, their new taste for chocolate keeps pace, feeding a worldwide consumption increase of about 2 per cent a year.

ΩΩPolitics is ruining the cocoa crops.  The weather is ruining the cocoa crops.  Too many humans in the Ivory Coast, 50% are under the age of 19!  50% live in the cities.  This country is as small as Belgium.  It is impossible for it to continue on this path for much longer.  Either it has a 0% population growth rate or it becomes a human desert like once-lush, once-productive Haiti.  Haiti was France’s slave state crown jewel once.  The most productive and lucrative part of the French empire.  Now, it is a basket case.  Note that ALL of the cocoa producing nations are the same: ridiculously high birthrate countries.

ΩΩGhana is next door to the Ivory Coast and it’s median age is 21 years, slightly better than 19 years.  24 million people in a postage-stamp sized country.  The Ivory Coast is a larger country with only 21 million people.  But it is a dying country due to stress just as Ghana is.  Both are politically unstable except for bouts of pro-Western dictators who simply loot these countries.  Both of which were prime real-estate during the European colonial expansion centuries.

ΩΩBack to astronomy, there is this wonderful natural yin/yang system whereby the universe’s most common element and the simplest, is hydrogen.  When a star burns its hydrogen, it produces helium, the second simplest atomic entity in the universe.  One gas is very active and the other is inert.  This is the fundamental yin/yang of existing molecular stuff, the core of all things that exist.  Here on our planet, we don’t have much helium.  The older a star, the more helium it has.  Humans use helium and here is today’s helium worry story:  Why the world is running out of helium – Science, News – The Independent

• Scientists have warned that the world’s most commonly used inert gas is being depleted at an astonishing rate because of a law passed in the United States in 1996 which has effectively made helium too cheap to recycle.  The law stipulates that the US National Helium Reserve, which is kept in a disused underground gas field near Amarillo, Texas – by far the biggest store of helium in the world – must all be sold off by 2015, irrespective of the market price.

ΩΩHAHAHA…the GOP has created a helium crisis!  Due to their manic beliefs in the ‘free market’ and their ongoing war against a sane state which, since the pyramids, has existed for one main reason: to hoard stuff and then hand it out.  Putting all systems at the mercies of speculators is a good way to destroy a state.  The world is writhing with anxiety and whole societies are arming themselves for revolutions in order to stop this process.  The free trade/sell all government assets and holdings libertarianism system is on the verge of total collapse.  No surprise to me.

• Congress should

1. sell all federal energy enterprises;
2. convert air traffic control, public broadcasting, and various research and development laboratories to self-supporting nonprofit corporations;
3. privatize Amtrak and the U.S. Postal Service via worker-management buyouts;
4. gradually sell off commercial lands and buildings;
5. auction off all remaining nonmilitary frequency spectrum;
6. sell federal loan portfolios; and
7. sell remaining commodity stockpiles.

• As shown in Table 27.3, a serious privatization agenda could produce $525 billion in one-time proceeds, which should be earmarked for paying down the national debt. In addition, three other impacts would reduce the government’s annual budget deficit. First, elimination of current operating costs or subsidies, or both, would yield nearly $10 billion per year in savings. Second, federal corporate income taxes on the privatized federal enterprises would generate an estimated $18 billion per year. Third, the reduction in the national debt (thanks to the proceeds of the sale of assets) would lead to annual interest savings in the vicinity of $39 billion. Together, those three savings total $67 billion per year in permanent deficit reduction.

ΩΩOf course, if Congress saved any money and Clinton did this, the first thing the GOP does is create a massive budget deficit, crash the economy and destroy the banking system by letting bankers run things with no capital.  We sold our souls to save a few pennies and the backlash will be very nasty.  Just as liberals don’t think ahead, either.  Nature is all about balance.  We can’t freeze things into place.  The right wing declared that history was dead right when a very alive history was preparing to whack us hard and the left wing wants to keep everything at a perfect place we had far in the past, the Garden of Eden and that requires eliminating most humans.

ΩΩThe most common way to do that is via a major war.  WWIII done with nukes could do the trick only it is messy and may move evolution fast forwards due to mutations, etc.  And could start an ice age!  Oops.  We first burn with nuclear fires and then freeze again.  Yup.  Yin and yang are impossible to escape.
