Steubenville rape case: Video shows a group of high school students laughing about girl’s ordeal. Another football rape in America. This happens all too often. In the past, these rapes were successfully covered up by Big Sports supporters but today at least it makes the news when these cover ups happen. Time to visit Steubenville, Ohio which seems to be wishing to become part of the Deep South…
During the election I said that the GOP attacks on women’s basic civil rights was very important in leftists supporting Obama. The alternative of a right wing religious fanatic President and his party ruling us entirely turned my stomach. Well, here is more news from the right wing parts of the US that want to kill my civil rights!
Steubenville, Ohio – Places | Facebook page shows the town symbol which is a fortress due to it being a place at war with the natives who were shipped westwards or killed.
View the Anonymous video put up on you tube: Michael Nodianos confession #oprollredroll #occupysteubenville Steubenville rape case – YouTube where one of the boys boasts about the gang rape while it is happening. This is totally incriminating evidence and he is obviously a psychopath as are his friends who formed this ‘Rape Gang’ since they admire Gangsta Culture.
Before the Anonymous release proving there was rape and that the boys thought rape was funny was this story from three weeks ago: Rape Case Unfolds Online and Divides Steubenville – NYTimes.com
Alexandria Goddard, a 45-year-old Web analyst who once lived in Steubenville and writes about national crime on a blog, heard about the case early on and rushed to investigate it herself. She told The Cleveland Plain Dealer in September that she did so because she had little faith that the authorities would do a thorough job.
Before many of the partygoers could delete their posts, photographs or videos, she took screen shots of them, posting them on her site, Prinniefied.com. On Aug. 24, just after the arrests, she wrote on her site that it was “a slam dunk case” because, she said, Mays and Richmond videotaped and photographed their crime and then posted those images on the Web. Goddard pressed her case.
“What normal person would even consider that posting the brutal rape of a young girl is something that should be shared with their peers?” she wrote. “Do they think because they are Big Red players that the rules don’t apply to them?”
Here is her website: Prinniefied.com
The blog was down for the better part of the day due to some server issues, but hopefully those have been resolved. Nope, I didn’t shut down. I’m here for the duration. I write about a lot of cases, and my focus has always been for the victims. I don’t always have heartwarming things to say about criminals or others who behave like savages, and I believe that if it looks like a turd, and smells like a turd…chances are it’s a turd. My language can sometimes be colorful, and I will not apologize for that because that is just who I am. I have been known to refer to individuals who behave like they are from another planet as booger eaters. I have a right to an opinion, and I opine that the world is full of some very odd and dangerous people. I’m not the only person who has an opinion. My dad used to say they are like *holes. We all have them.
Our basic rights ensure that we have freedom of speech. That includes,
- the right to seek information and ideas;
- the right to receive information and ideas;
- and the right to impart information and ideas.
As owner of this blog, I provide factual information in my articles and my readers have the opportunity to discuss various cases and missing persons stories. They also have the opportunity to post comments regarding these news items. I am not responsible for the opinions of others. I have claimed to own the internet, but really it was just a joke. I am not Big Brother, and certainly do not tell people how they should think. I like free thinkers and enjoy opposing viewpoints as long as it is done respectfully, and not like a booger eater having a tantrum. As such, I am responsible for my comments – not yours, not Phil McCrackin’s, et al.
Section 230 of Title 47 of the United States Code (47 USC § 230) states:
“No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider.” This federal law preempts any state laws to the contrary: “[n]o cause of action may be brought and no liability may be imposed under any State or local law that is inconsistent with this section.” The courts have repeatedly rejected attempts to limit the reach of Section 230 to “traditional” Internet service providers, instead treating many diverse entities as “interactive computer service providers.”
This would mean that I should not be held liable for defamatory statements contained herein by commenters. I also believe that we all have a right to believe that someone is an asshole. If a statement is true, it cannot be defamatory. The other side of the coin is that the statement must be capable of being proven false. This means that most opinions — even the meanest and most disparaging — cannot be defamatory.
Anyhow, I have not been served with any suit and for all I know that could be just another rumor. You know how they all keep talking about rumors, plus for all you know, I live in a van down by the river in Orlando, FL. It is business as usual here at PRINNIEFIED, and if you wish to comment here using a proxy – I understand. I truly understand that some feel oppressed and/or intimidated regarding having an opinion regarding this case. I am very sad that we didn’t have more colorful usernames. Fart Sniffer would have caused me gales of laughter. L

It is my hope that ALL of those responsible in this case are held accountable for what they did to the victim, and that all others who have or were involved in gang rapes of females are prosecuted. I have pixelated the victim’s name to protect her, but wonder what would the reasonable man would think of the character of an individual who would post this photo online? Can one’s character truly be more defamed than they defamed themselves? Just some food for thought.
Joey will be discussing this case on Friday on Behind the Yellow Tape, and Nick Busick is scheduled to be on.
The ACLU supported her case and the courts ruled in her favor, totally. The suppression of the news is what is wrong. The local media was most careful to not investigate the case. Over and over again, we see how young people are urged by their sports culture to be rapists or to allow coaches to rape or sexually exploit vulnerable people who are very young and need to be protected. Now that the cat is out of the bag, the town is under the microscope and understandably so since it is a far right wing bastion.
Here is a photo shot of one of the abandoned steel mills there: Steubenville,
Steubenville has had a reputation for political corruption. The U.S. Department of Justice alleged that the city and police force had subjected numerous individuals to “excessive force, false arrests, charges, and reports” and had engaged in practices regarding “improper stops, searches, and seizures.” The report from the Department also stated that excessive force was levied against individuals who witnessed incidents of police misconduct, and against those who were known critics of the city and its police force. Those individuals were also falsely detained if the city and the police agreed that they were “likely to complain of abuse.” It also stated that the officers involved also falsified reports and tampered with official police recorders so that “misconduct would not be recorded.”[7][8]
Over a period of 20 years the city lost, or settled out of court, 48 civil rights lawsuits involving its police force. The city paid out more than $800,000, $400,000 of which was between 1990 and 1996. As a result, the city’s police force became the second city in the United States to sign a consent decree with the federal government due to an excessive number of civil rights lawsuits. The decree was signed on September 4, 1997 under the “pattern or practice” provision. Under this agreement, the city agreed to improve the training of its police officers, implement new guidelines and procedures, establish an internal affairs unit, and establish an “early warning system.”
Ohio lost 346K manufacturing jobs in decade and Ohio job loss second only to Michigan since 2000 which made Ohio Job Losses Worst Since Great Depression | OurFuture.org
Nine of the state’s 13 metropolitan areas suffered recent job losses more severe even than Ohio’s statewide losses. Most devastated is the Springfield area, losing 10.0 percent of its jobs over the last seven years. The other areas with job losses worse than statewide include Canton (8.6 percent job loss), Dayton (7.6 percent), Mansfield (6.5 percent), Youngstown (6.3 percent), Lima (5.7 percent), Cleveland (5.5 percent), Toledo (5.0 percent) and Steubenville, Ohio–Weirton, W. Va. (3.8 percent).
The population went from 38,000 to 18,000 since WWII. Today, 30% of the children live below the poverty line. Below is a screen shot of the far right wing GOP Representative of that blighted town:

Born in North Carolina and gone to school in Alabama, the right wing GOP moves northwards thanks to gerrymandering: Bill Johnson (Ohio politician)
Johnson grew up on family farms. He entered the United States Air Force in 1973, married Wanda Florence Porter April 30, 1975. They had 3 children, Joshua Daniel Johnson born 1976; Julie Florence Johnson born 1978 and Jessica Leslie Jonson born 1983. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after a military career of more than 26 years. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Troy University in Troy, Alabama in 1979, and he earned his Master’s Degree from Georgia Tech in 1984. During his tenure in the U.S. Air Force, Johnson was recognized as a Distinguished Graduate from the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Squadron Officers School, and Air Command & Staff College.
In the 2010 Ohio Primary Election Candidate Survey, Johnson stated, “I am pro-life, and I oppose abortion except in the case of rape, incest, and when the mother’s life is in danger. Additionally, I support parental notification and a ban on partial birth abortions.” During his 2010 and 2012 general elections, Johnson received the endorsement of the Ohio Right to Life PAC.[11]
Johnson opposes the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Johnson opposes the legalization of gay marriage and believes that it “undermines the integrity of the American family.” [13]
Here is his district. It is the definition of ‘gerrymandering from hell’. It is ridiculous, long, thin, winding, impossible to represent everyone in a geographical circumference. This was done to make it harder for any Democrat to win. Back to the Wikipedia page about this dying manufacturing town represented by a guy who hates DC:
The Steubenville High School football team, the Big Red, had a 15–0 record for the 2005 season, ending as Ohio Div-III State Champions. Steubenville then went 15-0 in the 2006 season, repeating as Ohio Div-III State Champions. The Big Red was handed their first regular season loss in almost seven years by the Inkster (Michigan) Vikings on Oct. 23, 2009. Their streak was 68 regular season games.[17]
The Big Red also won the 1984 Division II State Championship in football and were runners-up in Division II in 1987 and 1988, and runners-up in Division IV in 2008. Big Red is ranked number 20 in the nation for alltime wins. Not only does Steubenville High excel at football, it also has the second-most victories in the state for baseball state poll champions 1994, 1998, and 2011 and twelfth most wins in the state for basketball.

Contrast the fury on behalf of raging psychopathic rapists by right wing voters in Steubenville, we have India:
India widens crackdown on gang-rape protests – Central & South Asia – Al Jazeera English
And it isn’t just Ohio that has a problem or Penn State but it is all over the place: Alleged victims describe hazing at hands of soccer teammates – CNN.com
“They picked me up and put the stick up my butt,” a 14-year-old boy, identified only as “Billy,” told HLN’s Dr. Drew Pinsky on Monday.
The attackers were his teammates, the teen said. And the allegations the three alleged victims have made are being investigated by authorities and have shocked many around the Los Angeles-area high school.
The GOP response to all this was to kill the bill protecting women from abuse. Isn’t that just charming?

What does the Steubenville case have to do with Republicans? The town is run entirely by Democrats, and has been for decades. The Sheriff, who has come under a bit of fire of this, has been elected unopposed for almost 30 years, and is a Democrat. The Mayor is a Democrat, and the entire city council is made up of Democrats. Republicans hardly even bother to run in the town as it is a futile effort. Who exactly are the Republicans who have tried to protect the rapists, and why is this suddenly a partisan issue to you?
ΩΩΩ
ELAINE: the GOP makes it an issue and the representative for this town in Congress is GOP, not a Democrat. And the GOP has been on a rag about women being raped and then getting help, they don’t want this so it is very much an issue for me, being female.
dtro…………DO DEMOCRATS WATCH FOOTBALL?
Elaine, the aerial shot is horrific.
Reminds me of images at ‘Ruins of detroit’ site.
Considering that the majority of the voters in Steubenville vote Democrat, and Harding Stadium is packed for every Big Red game, I’d say yes, Democrats do watch football, and the majority of football fans in Steubenville are Democrat. Perhaps I missed the point of your question.
The reason Steubenville’s economy is in the toilet is because it is based on an industry that is no longer thriving in the US as it was in the mid 20th century, during the town’s heydey. The town did see a small resurgence in jobs as the mills were hiring again due to a steel tariff that Bush had put in place in 2002. The WTO as well as others domestically came out against it and it was lifted in 2003. The town has been back in decline since.
If you want to bash the GOP and Republicans, there are plenty of battles to take up for that, but to use this particular rape case as ammunition for it is wildly far-fetched. I honestly can’t think of another town less deserving to be called “a far right wing bastion”.
Voters in the county voted for Charlie WIlson, not BIll Johnson. The prosecutor for the case, who has come into question, is a Democrat and won unopposed. In almost every race, the voters vote Democrat. See for yourself.
Here’s 2012: http://www.electionsonthe.net/oh/jefferson/elecres/20121106.htm
Here;s 2008:
http://www.electionsonthe.net/oh/jefferson/elecres/20081104.htm
Is there something I am missing here?
I am commenting on how gerrymandering has turned a DEMOCRATIC town into a GOP voting base for southern guys.
And the Democrats are not running a war against women’s rights, the GOP is doing this and the Democrats are not passing laws that make it harder to get birth control nor do the Democrats make excuses for rapists.
Indeed, the ENTIRE POINT of gerrymandering is to dilute Democratic power. So the voting district for this town includes and overwhelming number of rural votes that vote mainly GOP like they do here in my state which is the opposite, the Republicans have a smaller profile due to Democratic power even though the rural vote goes to the GOP.
I understand what you’re saying about Gerrymandering, but the title for this entry doesn’t elude to that at all. It says that the Republicans in the town are covering up a rape. Can you tell me what Republican Powerful in town is doing this?
As far as the news choosing not to cover the story, I can tell you that this is not uncommon for the news there. A friend of a friend claimed to be so severly beaten by police that he needed surgery, but when he tried to address it with the local news station, they wouldn’t touch it.
As a local historian of the Upper Ohio Valley, this propaganda & its source are deceptive and dishonest! The Democrat to Republican voter registration is for every one G.O.P member are six Dems.
Jefferson County has been under super majority control of the Democrats since 1933. The present sherif has been in office for twenty eight years and was criminally indicted on corruption in 1990. His brother is the chairman of the Democratic Party of Jefferson County and plead guilty to racketeering over twenty years ago.
The book ” Twelve Against The underworld ” is a true non fiction account of organize crime where the final legal decision deemed , ” The Jefferson County Democratic Party is nothing more than a front for organize crime,”
The ” Gerrymander ” was devised by the Democrats over a sixty year tenure and just recently changed very little to include population shift. It was shaped that way to garner the UNION VOTE!
The present congressional member is the first Republican in years and the Dems in the district still holds a hefty 3 : 1 ratio.
Your lies will follow you as I will personally rebuttal your future yellow journalism as lies!
EXCEPT Jefferson county is NOT a Congressional district!
Got that? It happens to be embedded in a GOP string of mostly rural communities scattered far and wide and they vote into office someone wants to make it hard as possible to get an abortion if raped, for example.
That is, the GERRYMANDERING has turned a DNC base into a helpless part of the GOP House machine that is out to wreck our cities.
And how can a ‘historian’ not figure out that counties aren’t Congressional districts? Sheesh.
Indeed, this has motivated me, along with a foolish article about gerrymandering I read with dismay today to talk about how this process works in order to prevent people getting representation that is even remotely fair.
Both parties gerrymander for the same reasons and I have been against this all my life.
By the way, the NEW district in Ohio was cobbled together RECENTLY so that it would seem as if voters rejected Democrats when instead, they lost their previous district. By the way, this happens every CENSUS ten years and assuming the district that existed previously represents the present one is totally wrong. Few Americans understand how this game is played and why.
I spent exactly 5 minutes finding past maps of Ohio and as I charged, the GOP has gerrymandered the state quite brutally and it is a new thing there, it is RECENT and totally done by GOP gangs in the state capital this last year. Virtually none of the districts work like previous years and all were carved in such a draconian way, most vote GOP even though the voter base is certainly not GOP at all.
DTRO….’ Perhaps I missed the point of your question.’
It was a bad joke.
Are all rapists Republicans?
With 30,000 black on white rapes a year and almost 0 white on black
rapes [check stats y 'rself] !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We do not have stats on prison rape.
ΩΩΩΩ
ELAINE: Rape comes in many forms. Forcing women to bear the children of rapists is RAPE. Legal rapine. It is extremely nasty to do to a victim of rape, it is even worse than rape in many ways.
I don’t think he said anything claiming that the county was a district. He was addressing your claim that the Republicans have so much control of the town, not the district. I still haven’t seen you defend that accusation. In reading your post, I found very little to make me believe that the point was about gerrymandering. It seemed to me to be all about how corrupt this little Republican town in Ohio is and how they cover for rapists. Only after I told you that the town is heavily Democrat did you claim that the whole point of the article is about gerrymandering. I’m going to ask you again to explain what you mean by “Republican Powerful In Ohio Town Protected Football Rapists”. What Republican Powerful in the town protected anyone?
I feel that I should point out that I am not a Republican, and do believe that there is plenty to question with them as well as the Democratic party. However, this case is not one that needs to be made into a political issue.
the stupidity of liberals focusing on the social issues when the country is failing is not lost on me at least-but, hey, liberals have to keep stopping to pick up the pretty penny on the ground.
liberals will destroy this country if we stop paying attention:
http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/02/debt-in-a-time-of-zero/
i see in calfornia liberals are going to allow illegal immigrants to get scholarships now-with student debt owned by the government now leading consumer debt.
that should end well.
The town’s congressional leader is IMPORTANT. And I spent some time talking about their Congress critter who wants to limit female birth control. This is a sound topic when talking about rape in general and Ohio’s bizarre position in particular.
Rape and birth control are not the same issue. I seriously doubt that the accused rapists here were thinking “We’re sure to get away with this. Our House Rep is a Republican who is opposed to abortions & birth control.”
I have asked you three times to tell me which Republicans have tried to cover up this rape. I have been very specific. All you can respond with is generalizations about how evil Republicans are and how bad gerrymandering is. I have not disagreed with you on these points or defended Republicans’ war on women’s rights or gerrymandering. I am asking very specific questions derived from your own blog entry, and you can’t answer them with specific answers.
Of course House Reps are important, but as far as I can tell, it has nothing to do with this particular case or its supposed cover up. The fact is that the town is not a far right wing bastion as you claimed, nor are any Republicans (at least to my knowledge) responsible for this rape or its cover up. If you can tell me specifically how any Republican is responsible for any of this I may change my mind, but you can’t. You know very little about this case and even less about Steubenville. It seems that all you know is that there was a rape, and you want to find a way to make a Republican responsible. There are probably multiple cases like that out there, but this isn’t one of them. If any party is going to feel the heat over this, it is the local Democrats.
floridasandy, yes.
That was one of the first, if not the first thing
Brown did when he got back in power.
The Dream Act.
Dtro, clearly this is a very emotional issue for Elaine.
i like Elaine, I like her blog but sometimes emotions get in the way of
facing reality.
I point out the rape numbers ‘skew toward Black’.
She replied ‘lack of abortion’ or however she worded ‘being forced to bear the rapists child’.
Its no wonder I have zip interest in feminism.
The Ohio River District was the industrial belt. Now rust belt. Been Democratic and still is! It is NOT rural!!! The interior IS rural. This was industrial with steel, coal, glass, shipping, ect. You probably NEVER been here! Got IT!
Charlie Wilson lost his congressional seat due to arrogance and dissing the voters. The Republican takeover in 2010 when the Dems controlled the senate, House, & White House.
Typing behind a desk spewing psychotic lies doesn’t make your lies true. This region is and has been under Democratic control since the Great Depression.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio%27s_6th_congressional_district
So, when the Dems Gerrymander its all fine & dandy. Not the G.O.P! Double standards and liberal hipocrites! Besides, th efact that Charlie Wilson was a woman beater during his marriage didn’t help him either!
Sinse Bill Clinton, the district has been changing more towards the G.O.P. due to the Dems attack on steel, coal, and gas. Th eunions may be prostitutes to the Democratic Party, but 40% of the members are Republicans. Now, do research on Obama’s Job Czar Jeffery Imelt. Explain that!
“Ohio’s 6th congressional district is represented by Representative Bill Johnson (R-OH). This district runs along the southeast side of the state, ”
So, um, ‘R’ stands for “Democrat”?
And, the attacks on steel etc. date back to the Nixon administration. They really picked up steam under Reagan, who went into offshoring wholesale! And Imelt is a Republican, really. Turns out Obama is a Republican too. He just ran as a Democrat because the R party has gone full tilt looney-tooney since the ’90s or so.
The American Steel Tariff Act 1973. Patricjk J. Buchanan was writer of the Bill. Nixon PROTECTED steel, Carter lifted tariffs. Reagan reinstated tariffs. Clinton eliminated tariffs. Bush imposed tariffs. Obama scaled down foreign tariffs all on steel.
Hey Jim, I said Johnson was first RECENT G,O,P. prior to him was weasel wife beater ( now divorced ) Charlie Wilson. Wilson backed Obama/Biden “War On Coal ” Wilson lost re election in 2010. Johnson only been in since 2011 January!!
This is what I was able to find:
3 football players involved. 2 charged.
Football players mom is county process attorney and is accused of trying to encourage the victim to drop charges.
IS THAT MOM A REPUBLICAN???????????
Elaine, this is from [gulp] rightwingnews.com
Guardian feature columnist Jon Henley uncritically quotes convicted pedophiles like Tom O’Carroll who said that children enter into such “relationships” voluntarily. “If there’s no bullying, no coercion, no abuse of power, if the child enters into the relationship voluntarily … the evidence shows there need be no harm.”
Henley then trots out a few “experts” that present “proof” that kids are not harmed by the predators that abuse them.
Thompson points out that this is the same sort of absurdly permissive attitude that caused Catholic Churches across the world to “adopt a mild, nuanced approach to suspicions of clerical pedophilia.”
This isn’t a new phenomenon, though. Only last year America’s Gawker website also published a story that gave pedophiles the benefit of being treated as abused minorities.
As in the Guardian article, throughout the Gawker piece passive language was used to soft peddle child rape. The Gawker piece also constantly claimed that sex between adults and children is just a “choice.” The pedophile quoted in the Gawker piece even maintained that the sex he had with his seven-year-old niece was consensual. Gawker simply takes his word for it without protest.
Further, Gawker similarly trotted out “experts” claiming that child rape is no big deal.
This attitude about adults that predate on children is a growing topic of discussion and is the next horizon for defining criminal behavior downward.
I linked to this blog from one of my favorite economics blogs. This is the first article I clicked and…. well…the claims made by the author are pretty bizarre and obviously unsupportable. Sorry for the driveby nature of my comments. But consider it constructive criticism from a potential reader who, however, prefers to stick with serious-minded commentary vs old fashioned American partisan mud slinging.
So, we have riots an demonstrations due to rapes in India and this is international news but here…it’s OK to rape?
The last election was a great deal about ‘rape’ and the consequences with the GOP basically saying they want women to be forced to have babies when raped!
This is a HUGE issue and very much in the realm of economics. The very word for ‘economy’ is all about sex in the home and women working for their husbands and having no civil rights in ancient Greece.
from ‘sbpdl’:
Did anyone else see the Today Show interview w/the well-dressed, white, former legal guardians of Malik, one of the boys arrested for raping the unconscious 16yr old in Stubenville?
Matt Lauer asked them if they had the difficult conversation of asking Malik what happened that night. The woman replied that they had not because they didn’t care, they loved and supported him no matter what he had done. White liberals outdo black mommas,
Malik is Black? mixed race?
The article about republican control of Steubenville is false, it is and has traditionally been controled by the democratic party. Get your facts correct.
Follow the Ole Boy Politics Map of Jefferson County’s circus. http://behindtheyellowtape.me/2012/1…onal-mind-map/
The Democratic Party Chairman is the Sheriff’s brother. Both were indicted on corruption back in the late 1980′s with the sheriff being aquitted and two brothers pleading guilty to racketeering. They RUN the county! Jane Keneen Hanlin was appointed by the Abdalla Political Machine as their county prosecutor and is the mother of Big Red football player Charlie *******. She was a past Big Red Education Board Legal Counsel. She held out on this incident until the kitchen got hot and turned it over. The County Juvenile Judge, Sam Kerr also has ties to Big Red personally and otherwise and also waited weeks AFTER the known alleged incident.
This is NOT common in American county politics as Jefferson. Books have been published on the corruption for over 100 years and even case studies in community social attitudes of this place. Ohio Magazine ( Tourist Magazine ) even had an article where the citizens were more fearful of the corrupt law enforcement than the street hoodlums. Read : “Twelve Against The Underworld”. A true story taken from federal court records of how the Jefferson County Democratic Party is a front for organize crime. Realize that the Federal Department of Justice ran the Steubenville City Police Department for nearly twenty years due to corruption.
Coach Reno’s impersonating a hit man towards a New York Times reporter magnifies the arrogance and foolishness of a small town bully. So, you see, authorities can easily connect the dots and the notorious reputation people of Steubenville brag about so loudly is echoing back.
update……
