A group is exploiting the hysteria that has gripped the gun-toting part of the populace. Fears that their firearms might be regulated has many up in arms which is why so many angry men are shouting about killing fellow citizens over this issue which simply makes the case for disarming hot heads. The election of a black President not just once but twice and resoundingly the second time has unhinged many on the far right. The mass murder of school children has unhinged many people and the arming of the US public races forwards even as our society as a whole becomes less and less civil. Fear reigns as we rain fear upon the peasants overseas who we seek to control via the whiplash of assassination and disarming them, of course.
Well, the whole issue here isn’t merely guns or gun control it is why we exist in the first place. This country has been torn in two since inception. The cynical use of slaves captured in Africa and then brought here to work under the lash continues to trouble our nation as this caused a huge social and economic disruption for the victims of slavery who are unable to cope well even today thanks to this evil legacy. But then there are other forms of slavery, the peasants of Europe were not African slaves, but they were virtual slaves owned quite literally by their overlords who we call ‘nobility’ for some strange reason.
White racists dream of being ‘nobility’ and this was an affectation of the white Southern slave owners even as the old nobles of Europe sneered at them all. The US supposedly revolted against the nobles in Europe but all the fine words penned about freedom and democracy was seen even in 1786 as a sham due to slavery. From day one, sane people begged the US to free the slaves and the South adamantly refused to even consider this.
I went the website run by the guys who claim they will build a walled enclave in Idaho to see what they were all about: the Citadel : Application Process
Help make it affordable for Patriots to move in with little money down
Keep costs competitive or cheaper than equal housing costs elsewhere across the country
Get rid of the banks’ ridiculous 20% deposit rule, then,
Make sure our residents can find work!Step Seven: Once you have been approved, you must finalize the details of your custom home, including square footage, lot size, et cetera. You will be required to begin paying 25% of your full lease price 90 days after your application has been approved. Once the Construction Team breaks ground on your residence, you will be required to pay 1/2 of the lease price each month. Once your home is completed and ready for your custom interior, you will be responsible for paying your full lease price. All lease monies you submit once you have been approved will be deposited into an escrow account controlled by an Idaho Attorney.
One lesson we should all heed is, if you are a renter or lease holder, you have virtually no property rights. The owners of this insane Citadel plan to own everything themselves and anyone foolish enough to join will be at the mercy of these clowns. This is an armed camp being run as a Florida Condo Association. HAHAHA. Which will have draconian power over what you do at home at all times. All times. With impunity. Why would anyone who is terrified about someone telling them what to do want to live in this armed camp where the owners have dictatorial power? Huh? Fascism is the pitfall of all right wing ideologies.
All of Israel is a ‘citadel’ like this one! Heavily armed racist Jews go around terrorizing the remaining native population that is in their way as the Jews busily build higher and higher walls and alienate more and more people. This model for society is disgusting. The castle building in Europe was all about keeping the peasants under the thumb of the rulers, for example. And were used by ruling elites to fight each other, too. Once guns were invented and the cannon used to take down walls, all the walls in cities, towns and castles ceased being useful and the building of these stopped.
This self-made jail for libertarians who don’t understand what property means is in a very rural place, Benewah County, Idaho. Just south of previous armed encampments by white racists in Coeur d’Alene. Here is a photo of the local high school in the largest of the small towns of that thinly-populated county:
Note the lumberjack in the front yard. This is logging territory. A tiny corner of the county is the only farmland in this part of Idaho which is mostly in Washington State. My husband went to school at Pulman/Moscow. The guys who want to imprison fellow libertarians in their private owned castle want to build this where most of the land is owned by Uncle Sam: St. Joe National Forest -
The St. Joe National Forest is a U.S. National Forest located in the Idaho panhandle and is one of three forests that are aggregated into the Idaho Panhandle National Forest (the other two are the Coeur d’Alene and Kaniksu National Forests). In descending order of land area St. Joe National Forest is located in parts of Shoshone, Latah, Clearwater, and Benewah counties. It has a total area of 867,882 acres (3,512 km2).[1]
The forest headquarters is located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. There are local ranger district offices located in Avery and St. Maries.
Which means they have to buy land that isn’t Federally owned. My brother-in-law lives out there and is having a hard time buying a house due to the lack of land since much of these forests are Federally owned. This doesn’t stop logging, the government sells LEASES to log just like the guys who want to build this armed camp want to lease the homes there while owning everything.
Benewah County, Idaho – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 9,171 people, 3,580 households, and 2,538 families residing in the county. The population density was 12 people per square mile (5/km²). There were 4,238 housing units at an average density of 6 per square mile (2/km²). The racial makeup of the county was 88.66% White, 0.12% Black or African American, 8.94% Native American, 0.15% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.25% from other races, and 1.82% from two or more races. 1.55% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. 26.6% were of German, 11.7% English, 9.5% American and 8.6% Irish ancestry according to Census 2000. About 10.50% of families and 14.10% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.20% of those under age 18 and 9.70% of those age 65 or over.
Here is a satellite photo of a typical town in this part of Idaho. It is obviously quite open due to the fact that the people there are not under siege. The Citadel looks more like the Waco thing and I seriously doubt anyone plans to build huge cement walls around it like in Israel where the walls are all funded by US taxpayers.
Here is the the Citadel : Patriot Agreement drawn up by these guys who are so scared:
Patriots: The following represents a voluntary set of conditions to which every single Patriot who accepts a residence in the Citadel must agree, in writing. This is a voluntary Agreement. The Citadel is a martial endeavor designed to protect Residents in times of peril (natural or man-made). The Citadel will be built as a fortified bastion of Liberty. The Citadel is not the best housing solution for everyone. Read carefully….
Seven: Every child attending Citadel schools — with parental discretion for maturity — shall have as part of every semester’s class curriculum basic marksmanship and firearms safety training leading to the proficiency test on the child’s 13th birthday as a “Coming of Age” rite of passage (a parent may attend the classes or personally train the child if so desired). Children attending schools beyond the Citadel, or home-schooled, are required to meet the same proficiency standards at age 13.
Eight: All Patriots, who are of age and are not legally restricted from bearing firearms, shall agree to remain armed with a loaded sidearm whenever visiting the Citadel Town Center. Firearm shall be on-the-person and under the control of the Resident, not merely stored in a vehicle.
The rules state that if you fail the shooting test, you are EVICTED. Yes, you lose your home. How meddlesome is that rule? Talk about insane. You miss the target due to say, deteriorating vision and you are kicked out of your home. Some security system they have rigged up here! Of course, you don’t own the home and all the money going to the lease goes into the pockets of the rulers of this prison camp, the renter has no rights to live in their home, it all depends on being a sharp shooter.
If you develop a disease and your hand shakes, you are evicted. If you are too ill to take the tests, you are evicted. This is a cruel, ruthless, Spartan suburban dream world where a 13 year old has to shoot well to live at home and if your child fails the test you are…evicted! Amazing, isn’t it? Typical of nut cases, though. Don’t think things through.
Eventually, if these guys do try to build an armed antisocial camp there, they will spend a few hours off and on in the above building. Now, as civil society dissolves here in our country as one sector after another goes bankrupt as our jobs were offshored and imports flooded the nation while we spent our wealth on wars against Muslims and a futile attempt at surrounding both Russia and China with armed camps…we have our cities falling apart due to bankruptcy and social problems caused by the war on drugs: Crime Rises in San Bernardino After Bankruptcy – NYTimes.com
In San Bernardino, dozens of officers have been laid off since the bankruptcy filing, leaving the police force with 264 officers, down from 350 in 2009. Those who remain call in sick more often, said the police chief, Robert Handy. Emergency response times are up. Nonemergency calls often get no response…
With the city unable to provide, residents have begun to take more responsibility. Volunteers help with park maintenance, work at the city animal shelter and, in some cases, even replace broken streetlights.
Neighborhood watch groups have also grown in number in the last year, as they did in Vallejo and Stockton after those cities filed for bankruptcy. There are now more than 100 groups and counting, up from 76 last year. Chief Handy said the groups would play a “huge part” in fighting crime, especially given the cut to the police….
“It’s scary,” said Mr. Teran’s wife, Elizabeth. “You hear gunshots. You have to watch your surroundings.”
When NYC nearly went bankrupt, we lost police protection and lights were not fixed and the garbage built up and we were definitely under siege. And I started police patrols which made a number of civilian arrests as well as providing data to the police but from day one, I also fought for more sane police protection which meant getting them out of those damn cars where they race from one unpatrolled community to the next always playing catch up with criminals who should have been prevented rather than responding to already bad situations.
This is why I pushed hard for foot patrols. They create more safety than a dozen cop cars racing around. Prevention is far better than punitive actions after the fact. California pioneered the concept of car patrols in the first place. Suburban communities, when they go bad, are far harder to patrol than dense cities. It was actually rather easy to patrol NYC’s streets, we could simply trail after criminals to discover where they were hiding out and then note down the address. The streets have many people in it and so blending in with the crowd while tailing criminals is easy.
Now, using civilians this way is not good in the long run. It is far better to have a sound economy that hires patrols that obey the laws and are careful about what is legal and what is not legal. Then we have the old system which the 2nd Amendment was all about, the militias that patrolled the US back at the beginning. In the North, this was all about public safety. In the South, it was all about keeping the slaves under lock and key and preventing them from getting armed or running away: University of California at Davis Law Review of Militias: and the 2nd Amendment:
D. Slave Control
“Slavery was not only an economic and industrial system,” one scholar noted, “but more than that, it was a gigantic police system.“[123] Over time the South had developed an elaborate system of slave control. The basic instrument of control was the slave patrol, armed groups of white men who made regular rounds.[124] The patrols made sure that blacks were not wandering where they did not belong, gathering in groups, or engaging in other suspicious activity.[125] Equally important, however, was the demonstration of constant vigilance and armed force. The basic strategy was to ensure and impress upon the slaves that whites were armed, watchful, and ready to respond to insurrectionist activity at all times.[126] The state required white men and female plantation owners to participate in the patrols and to provide their own arms and equipment, although the rich were permitted to send white servants in their place.[127]
The militia was the first and last protection from the omnipresent threat of slave insurrection or vengeance.[135] The War for Independence had placed the South in a precarious position: sending the militia to the war against the British would leave Southern communities vulnerable to slave insurrection. The Southern states, therefore, often refused to commit their militia to the Revolution, reserving them instead for slave control.[136] Nor could the South help by sending much in the [Page 337] way of arms, for rifles were in short supply [137] and necessary to defend against possible slave insurrection.[138]
This is a fundamental split in our country down to today. The Tea Party loved pretending they were true patriots but the founders of the Tea Party let it slip into the hands of racists and GOP operatives working for the Southern Strategy and was turned on its head. Washington didn’t fight in South Carolina. He fought in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, mostly. Delaware, too. The eventual ‘nonslave’ states in the Civil War.
There were sea battles off of all the coastline but the land battles were mainly in the Northeast. In the following Napoleonic Wars when England reinvaded the US and burned the White House, they hit where the US government was weakest, in the South. They didn’t dare attack NYC or Boston. The building of our Federalist system was long and bloody. And still ongoing.
As society warps under the stress of reckless economic and political choices, the solutions being sought are often insane or childish by both liberals and conservatives. No one seems to want to face the truth head on which is our trade deficit is killing us. We have to deal with this somehow. Time for this reform has been long overdue. Without this, all the cement walls, fake fortresses, gun purchases, wild West riots, childish refusal to understand what money is, all of this will crash and burn as we go bankrupt. And the Chinese are placing bets when this will happen even as our government wishes for China to collapse, too. While still buying Chinese export goods, naturally.

Do Whites in Idaho kill 6000 people a year?
Black males in USA do, and 50000? rapes. Even with a million Black men in prison.
Found this ‘gem’ [cough] at Drudge:
OAKLAND (KCBS) — Two groups are at war with each other on the streets of Oakland, after the murder of woman last summer, and the subsequent feud is responsible for “90 percent” of the violence in the city since then, Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan said Monday.
City officials held a news conference Monday to discuss the alarming wave of shootings in the city over the weekend. Four people were killed Friday and 11 more were wounded since then. Police said one suspect is in custody.
Then again Oakland is where Lovell Mixon had a memorial!!!
Remember him? If not web search the name.
Sounds like something out of Mad Max. Will they have WWF wrestling as well to entertain themselves?
Nice cement walls to contain the explosions from the Govt Predator drones.
The Revolutionary war was won in the South. Siege of Yorktown, defeat of Cornwallis etc. True that Washington did not lead armies in the south, he delegated that job to his better generals such as Nathanael Greene and Francis “The Swamp Fox” Marion.
A short intro to the southern theatre of the revolutionary war:

@Lucky13 you asked about murder rates by state in the USA. Here are two recent posts regarding that very question. The source data is the Beloved Federal Government.

ELAINE: Virginia was divided in two in the Civil War, basically, as I mentioned above, it was the deeper south that couldn’t fight in an ORGANIZED way in tandem with the north. That is, they couldn’t sent troops northwards to support battles there due to needing to keep the slaves locked down at home.
The purpose of the policeman on the beat is to be a crime historian. He is not there to prevent crime, deter crime or arrest criminal. His job is to take statements after the crime, take a few photos and spout orders to any mundanes who might be in the area. If there is the slightest indication of an inkling of a chance that something actually dangerous might be in the area, the beat patrol will call in SWAT and an hour or so later lots of orders will be yelled and lots of firearms waved about by roid raged “peace officers.” Things are much different now than they were when EMS was doing her Princess Valiant and the Foot Patrol thing. Not the least of which is the new racial makeup of NYC.
ΩΩΩΩ
ELAINE: You are obviously insane. And know absolutely nothing about preventative patrols and how they operate. Not to mention, you are insulting as well as stupid. HA.
And you don’t know how the police arrest people while they are committing actual crimes. Foot patrols do this all the time.
Some people consider the Battle of King’s Mountain to be pivotal. A cocky British Major issued an ultimatum to some mountainfolk who may not have even been that interested in the war otherwise.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Kings_Mountain
ΩΩΩΩ
ELAINE: Real historians point to the Battle of Saratoga near where I live as the ‘pivot point’. It was a battle between two armies, not a stand off.
As for the invation in 1814 this was retaliation for the War of 1812, when American troops byrned down toronto.aka Fort York. As for the “Citadel”, this is another ghetto, which were designed to protect the jews from the christians.
ΩΩΩΩ
ELAINE: The Jewish citadel is in Israel. The ones in Idaho are right wing whites.
invaSion bUrned Ican spell, just careless!
The battle of King’s Mountain was not between British troops and Americans. It was between a large southern loyalist force and an American patriot force from the other side of the mountains who were angry at the British. The mountain men wanted to slaughter every last loyalist, but were stopped by their officers. The loyalist force was moving to reinforce Cornwallis and his British troops when it was surrounded and annihilated.
Most of the large battles in the south were fought by American troops brought in from the north or from the other side of the mountains (over mountain men). Later, the French arrived and that sealed Cornwallis’ fate.
Damn Elaine, you really pissed me off with this one. Why do you even care what a small group of people are doing in Idaho? Why?
I’ll give you my opinion on why you care, and my opinion is that you think we should all be conformists, and our gooberment is going to looking out for the good of all people. Wrong on both counts sister, and you know it. Forget being an idealist, and look at reality.
History rhymes, and it’s about ready to rhyme big time this go around.
And while we’re having a disagreement, allow me to point out that you’re renting your property. If you think I’m lying, don’t pay your property taxes and watch the results. Add up your fees (taxes). There are no more protections for anyone in this country…if the gooberment decides they want you, you are ‘finished.’ That’s exactly why people are arming themselves and stockpiling food. Whether you like that or not is irrelevant.
ΩΩΩΩ
ELAINE: Good lord, can you possibly list the number of societies in history that had no taxes at all????
Look, back when my family took over England with the Norman invasion, we didn’t pay taxes to the Crown, the Crown ran itself from its own peasants living on estates owned by the King. When there were wars, the King would beg us to fight for him and sometimes we did and sometimes we didn’t. Depending on how much loot there was which is why invading France was so attractive.
BUT…this ‘ideal state’ you admire required the PEASANTS paying taxes and they owned NO land at all. The concept of making barons, lords paying land taxes was a modern idea (the king and queen still pay no taxes, of course). The peasants paid taxes all the time and got little for it which is why democracy is so good. It stopped the taxation of the peasants with no representation.
If we revert to the old way where the rich pay no taxes and provide no services while the poor are either left to die as barbarian hordes sweep over them or the local barons force them to pay for all services out of pocket…gads! What planet did you live on before coming here? Zenu????
There is no society on earth that doesn’t have taxes to support society and property taxes make my life better, not worse. I happen to like well-groomed roads, snow plowing in winter, power lines working, schools, ambulances, etc, etc, etc.
Wow Elaine, you brought out some angry people with that post.
Don’t they realize that we live for but a brief moment in time.
If we can’t try and make each other happy while we’re here then what good are we.
I try to save people from their own follies. The belief that we can dissolve society and all will be well is insane.
This is why I fight with everyone over the issue of ‘what is money’. Why this is so difficult and obscure to understand doesn’t baffle me. People really want unlimited money to do as they please and wish heartily that it would appear magically.
And fix everything.
And people who are savers have been ravaged for quite a while with the new ZIRP lending system that destroys capital value. The fear and unhappiness connected with the deindustrialization of America is another issue.
The teeming lower class is killing each other at a mad cap rate as they become less and less useful to the rich. Our cities are rotting at the core and we sit idle because the New America doesn’t need productive cities anymore.
Alas, this is also a sign we are dying as a culture. The wish to be locked up in private enclaves that are draconian prisons is the next logical step for a dying society.
Very interesting post. I’m just commenting on the fact that you seem to think England started the War of 1812. (Re: burning down the White House.) The States started the war by invading Canada, and it’s pretty horrifying to learn that there are Americans who are being taught otherwise.
@tara
I was taught in school that we attacked Canada in order to break their alliance to England. We were also pissed that England was systematically kidnapping every able bodied American sailor they could get their grubby hands on.
So yes Tara, there was an unspoken, aggressive war between the U.S. and America from the end of the Revolution until 1812.
There still is in a way…culturally. I never met a Brit who didn’t hate America in some way or another. And despite this mania for Downton Abbey, France is still far more popular in America than England. Its only our elites that have hard ons for Brit aristocracy.
“Real” historians know that multi-causal analysis trumps single cause attribution.
They also know that all historical analysis is nothing more than relatively informed guesswork, at least on an issue like this, where it is impossible to pierce through all the variables of cause and effect.
“He who controls the past controls the future”. Folks, beware of those claiming to anoint who the “real” historians are.
@EMS’s first response to me. You were talking about the revolutionary war now suddenly the topic is the splitting of VA in the civil war? The civil war was fought to prevent secession by the states that wished to secede. To do that, West Virginia was seceded by the fedgov from VA. Sometimes irony laughs a wee bit to loudly.
@EMS’s second response to me. Been around enough cops and enough “neighborhood watches” to know exactly what they are and what they will not face. You have been away from the quotidian of the big city for a long time EMS. The job of the foot cop in NYC is to stop and frisk one specific identifiable minority as often as possible. They don’t stop crimes nor do they arrest criminals in the act. As far as the name calling, you do that a lot when reality does not conform to your theology; it is expected and discounted.
@Tofth: “Real” anythings in any area are those credentialed folks in that area that agree with you beliefs. Disagree with and support that disagreement with the currently fashionable theology and you can expect name calling at the least.
Actually, it’s tfoth. That means the fool on the hill, because I live on a hill and no one can seem believe for one second that there is even the slightest chance that I might know what I am talking about from time to time.
And that’s OK. People get to stew in their own juice.
Gee Elaine, how did the gooberment used to get funding before the non-federal no reserve system and the IRS was born? Yes, through tariffs.
Tariffs and trading is what brought on our civil war.
Ya know, there was a guy last year who went to jail for 30 days for having a pond on his property in Eagle Point, Or. I know enough about property law to get a real estate license, and to know that that water was his, but the gooberment invented a tax (permit), and for lack of paying $75, the county sentenced him to 30 days in jail. Do you still think you own your property?
The truth is you and your property are owned by the gooberment, because there is no longer any rule of law.
I see today that the grand arrogant douche bag just signed 23 Executive Orders all limiting our “guaranteed” 2nd amendment rights which shall not be infringed upon. So today is the ‘kick-off.’ Let the game begin.
I’m done with this blog. A tip of the hat to you many commentators here. Please keep Elaine out of the idealistic deep end of the pool.
L8R
Actually, under our system, there is no property “ownership”. There is a “bundle of rights”. Everyone’s rights are relative to the rights of the rest of the world, including the sovereign.
If I understand correctly, Elaine’s point is that this system is better than how it worked in the Dark Ages, when every warlord was his own sovereign but on the whole life wasn’t that much fun for anybody.
Of course, when the sovereign is corrupt beyond all belief, it is understandable that folks will balk at supporting it, unless of course they are profiting from the corruption.
That system has been the “rule of law” for a long, long, time.
Elaine, I do not mean to sound grouchy.
‘he teeming lower class is killing each other at a mad cap rate as they become less and less useful to the rich. Our cities are rotting at the core’
‘ less useful to the rich’. Then why is Obama in office?
‘ Our cities are rotting at the core” Only because of Non Whites [sorry, call em like I see em].
The whites in the south used sheriffs, assassinations and riots to prevent blacks from voting. They can’t do this anymore.
The lower working class is no longer needed by the rich who import goods rather than make them here with our own workers so they don’t care if these excess labor kill each other.
As for tariffs: THESE PROTECT HOME BUSINESSES.
This is the #1 reason for having tariffs since the last 500 years. The deep south wanted to import expensive foreign goods cheaply when they had slave labor producing cotton for exports.
The North wanted to protect home industries so they wanted tariffs.
And at last EMS acknowledges the real reason for the war of Northern Aggression. That war was started to keep the southern states from developing beyond an export based agrarian economy. Tariffs NEVER help the consumer of goods, they do protect the incompetent government crony. Since all of humanity are consumers, but very few are favoured cronies, it should be obvious that tariffs are not for the benefit of the vox populi. Lincoln was a railroad lobbyist elected president for one purpose — to prevent the Confederation of States from forming a profitable separate nation with a VERY long and porous land border with the North.
The people are the poorer for having welcomed that tyranny.
ΩΩΩ
ELAINE: Good lord, the tariff issue was not the driver here. You forget, the main nation the South was exporting cotton to was Manchester, England. AND…the anti-slavery movement as even stronger there than here and there was great outrage that slaves were producing the cotton for the English mills. And…the labor movement was just beginning in England in 1848 and Karl Marx lived there…and talked about slavery and its connection to the mills in England…
There was fury about slavery not just in the US but in England and the South wanted England to side with them and the Crown DID NOT. End of story.
And now the black panthers patrol the polls and intimidate and attack white voters. Nice post, I guess the big question is why do you care? This country was founded on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If it makes them happy to live in a remote region and take their guns with them I would think that would make your liberal day. Stay out of other people’s affairs. I never read in the preamble, the Constitution, or the Bill of Rights where it said you should give up or rights or pursuits because it makes other people nervous. I’m sure these people have no interest in how you live your life, stay out of how they live theirs.
RE: Virtually no property rights…The view of left and right radical thinkers is that we all now live in an armed camp where others with dictatorial powers keep everybody in line. Hence resistance movements of all stripes popping up around the world. RE: self-made jail for libertarians..Definitely a high probability for showdown/siege scenario here, if for no other reason than the fact that its a common vision and expectation of the people who want to live there. RE: White racists in North Idaho — Don’t be fooled. The place is full of them, but it’s washed under the rug until a situation erupts somewhere. RE: Photo of local high school…That’s the grade school. RE: A tiny corner of the county is the only farmland in this part of Idaho which is mostly in Washington State…HUH? RE: Private-owned castle (are there any other kinds – lol) must be built where most of the land is owned by Uncle Sam (ie St Joe Forest)…The area where the Citadel people want to build is mostly owned by logging companies like Stimpson and Potlatch and private land owners. But the main thing everybody is missing is that it is on the Coeur d’Alene Indian Reservation. RE: Your brother having a hard time buying land…I have a friend with a nice place for sale about two miles as the crow flies from the Citadel. If you drive down any road around here you will see plenty of places for sale. I don’t know the details of the history you talk about in this thread, but I do know about this area and when I see somebody making assumptions and errors about what I know for sure, the rest of the statements drop way down on the credibility meter.
Anybody who wants a broader view of what this area in North Idaho is like can get some insights at the Greater South Lake Coeur d;Alene Alternative site.
And in today’s news, it turns out this ‘citadel’ is on 20 acres of forest land that is inaccessible in winter…hahaha…and is unfarmable. And the guy fronting this scheme is a con man who cannot legally own guns.
Sheesh. And my brother in law is looking for land in Oregon, not Idaho.
I would be very amused to see a bunch of guys park themselves up there in the woods in winter. I used to use a dog sled and then my Austrian horse, Sparky, to go up and down the mountain in winter in the deep snow. Fun times, that.
http://iiicitadel.com/patriotagreement.html
“Nine: Each household will provide ONE able-bodied Patriot (aged 13 or older) who shall muster one Saturday per month for Martial/Support Training for neighborhood-level training & musters, as set forth by the Militia Commanders of the Community”
Who are these 13 year olds supposed to fight?
Spesnatz, when they finally come?
Just in case anybody is interested in an update from the Citadel blog: “One clarification for Media visiting this blog and our official website: The parcel of property currently owned in Benewah County Idaho is not the location of the Citadel, it was never intended to be the site of the Citadel, and obviously would be physically impossible to serve as the site of the Citadel. The Benewah County parcel of property is intended to serve as an administrative center for the project and for related businesses. Development of this site will begin during the Spring/Summer of 2013 after submitting the proper paperwork to the county for consideration.”

They will shoot fellow Americans – hungry, destitute and desperate people ie the “Zombies” in the “Zombie Apocalypse” (the meltdown of US society).
@christian w
Yes, a medieval fort is best protection against zombies.
I would suggest a moat too so zombies would drown and the fort could save ammo.
There is no netting also around the citadel so what happens if someone say starts catapulting severed heads into the fort?
The citadel needs a moat and infested head netting for improved security.

Here are the statistics from our last civil war here in Finland.
1918 january to may (3 months, 2 weeks and 4 days).
Whites:
3,414 killed in action
1,650 executed
4 dead in prison camps
8,000 wounded
Reds:
5,199 killed in action
10,000 executed
13,500 dead in prison camps
12,000 wounded
6% of all men dead or wounded in just 100 days.
Such marvellous and wonderful times.
Militias are wonderful.

Yeah, and they need to design ‘The Citadel’ so it looks cool, something like this:

@christian w
Some sort of heating system and/or indoor moat is necessary for wintertime.
What good is a moat if it is FROZEN? Ha. Below zero here today, by the way.
@elaine
maybe the moat could be filled with antifreeze or moonshine?
@elaine
but it would have to be unflammable antifreeze.
do economic zombies have matches?
it’s hard protecting people with medieval tactics in modern times.

One, I’m now a Republican, at least for today, so I can vote in the Republican primary. Well, then, how would they do this without causing a real-life Armageddon. Global warming is caused by burning hydrocarbons and depleting forests, not by the sun.
Genuinely no matter if someone doesn’t know after that its up to other viewers that they will assist, so here it takes place.
