DAVOS DIVAS TAKE THE STAGE WHILE MILLIONS DEMONSTRATE

EASY READING CULTURE OF LIFE NEWS:  DAVOS DIVAS TAKE THE STAGE WHILE MILLIONS DEMONSTRATE « Culture of Life News 2

Davos, being very far from any cities and being deep in snowy mountains, doesn’t worry about pesky people storming the joint and ripping the people there, limb from limb.  But the angry mobs are gathering across the entire planet.  The Davos deadheads are aware of this and hope these people would just go home and eat cake, damn it!  But they won’t go away.  Not at all.  Arrest most if not all of the people at Davos!  HAHAHA.  They wanted to be the rulers and architects and the House of Mirth they built is a House of Credit Cards and now is on fire, collapsing and blowing up all at once.

Smackdown In Davos. – BusinessWeek

Fear stalks the halls of the World Economic Forum in 2009. The tone is negative and the attitude is nasty, what with all the finger-pointing, nation-bashing, and fear-mongering going on in the public sessions and in private conversations. Globalization is taking a hit, the US is getting mauled, bankers are being eviscerated, politicians are being criticized, free market capitalism is being jeered, and business people are getting more and more paranoid as they exchange personal stories of revenues in free-fall across the globe.

The scariest thing to me at Davos this year is that despite all the talk of a “transformational crisis,” as WEF founder Klaus Schwab put it, all the solutions being described are the usual predictable conventional wisdom. I had a terrific session with my fellow members of the Global Agenda Council on Design who have the means to help solve many of the big problems being discussed at Davos, but the politicians and economists running the show and the sessions don’t know that design and design thinking even exist. The success of design in the private, corporate sphere is not being replicated in the public policy-making space. How do we win this battle? How do we get access to policy-makers to show them what design and innovation can accomplish?

Meanwhile, nastiness abounds at Davos. Russia’s Prime Minister Putin slapped Michael Dell around on stage when Dell offered to help his country spread digitalization to its schools. “We don’t need you help,” said Putin, in a fairly pugnacious way. OK. China’s Premier Wen Jiabao slapped the US around for having “inappropriate macroeconomic policies…characterized by prolonged low savings and high consumption.”

OK: quick quiz time!  When do ruling elites choose revolutionary solutions?

  1. When they bankrupt everyone?
  2. When they are cornered?
  3. When they are beheaded?

Generally speaking, the Goddess of History knows that real change happens only when the old guard is dead and gone.  The Old Guard in the US are several:

  1. Bankers and money men
  2. Military brass
  3. Democratic Party
  4. Republican Party
  5. Media owners

Change is ripping apart the media owners. Their grip on power depends very much on people being unable to go to outside sources for information.  For example, I was very spoiled in Europe when I could go to a coffee house and sit down for two hours and read and debate the news from all over the earth.  In NYC, I found a tiny corner newsstand that specialized in international papers and magazines on 42nd and Broadway.  So I went there for my news.

Now, I have the luxury of the internet.  I can find news all the time and better still, interesting and wonderful readers take the time to email me or post in the comments, all sorts of news stories that are not covered in America. I can’t thank everyone enough! Davos is like an anthill that has been kicked over.  The US media is losing power as the internet eats not only information processing but also ad revenues.

The Republican and Democratic parties are both owned by the media, lock, stock and barrel [this refers to old-style blackpowder guns, incidentally].  People in the US [and many other afflicted nations] wonder why the politicians don’t listen to them, by gum!  Well, the real owners are all at Davos, desperately trying to find a fix to the mess they created, themselves, all together.  Wall Street is scarce this year only because they are huddling with lawyers and watching things in the capitals of the world with some increasing fear.  And the military: if they decide to move, it is the end for all the others.  Unless they are, like Hitler, supported by these same people who always love fascism if they can get it.

Before going into today’s news, a visit to the past.  I predicted the reign of Sarkozy would be short and bitter.  I predicted he would be besieged by mobs of furious French demanding his head.  Since Turkey is also in the news today, time to read my older story about all this:

May 13, 2007:  Culture of Life News: France, Germany, Turkey And Religious Warfare

The fates of several countries are intertwined this spring. France, Germany and Turkey: three countries whose elections and economic situations intertwine in dangerous ways. Turkey wants to join Europe but the Turkish Muslims are filled with anxiety and anger over the destructive course the dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire is causing. France just narrowly elected a right winger who attacks Turkey and who will fight to stop Turkey from integrating with the European Union. But Germany wants Turkey as an ally, as usual.

From Angus Reid:

Many Turkish adults would back the country’s most powerful political party in the next parliamentary election, according to a poll by Sonar. 29.04 per cent of respondents would vote for the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in this year’s Great National Assembly ballot.

The Republican People’s Party (CHP) is a distant second with 14.08 per cent, followed by the National Action Party (MHP) with 12.18 per cent, the True Path Party (DYP) with 12.07 per cent, the Youth Party (GP) with 10.07 per cent, the pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP) with 8.27 per cent, and the Motherland Party (ANAP) with 8.03 per cent. Support is lower for the Democratic Left Party (DSP) and the Grand Unity Party (BBP).

In the November 2002 ballot, the right-leaning AKP elected 363 lawmakers to the 550-seat legislative branch. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a member of the AKP, has served as prime minister since March 2003. The next legislative election in Turkey is scheduled for Jul. 22.

The colonialist attacks on the former Ottoman Empire is firing up a religious revival that is growing, not weakening. In Pakistan this month, the anger of honest patriots there are being directed more and more towards the military dictator whose army is in the pay of the Christian West. The fact that very loudly pro-Christian/pro-Jewish invaders have bought the military and use it to attack the people of Pakistan is radicalizing the people of that nation. And so it is all over the Middle East and beyond.

The Turkish government has been quite liberal compared to say, the medieval government of Saudi Arabia, a very backward nation when it comes to human rights, civil rights and anything one can name. The Ottoman empire was built on the backs of many religions. Although the Sultan showed favoritism, he didn’t seek to crush other religions so all sorts of ancient and unusual religious communities such as the Copts in Egypt or the Armenian Christians as well as a variety of Shi’ites and former Crusader Christians in Lebanon, etc. lived in relative peace. Like all empires, this one rotted, went bankrupt and got in trouble.

But whatever its past problems, it was barely any different from, say, Spain. Same rot, same intolerance only not so bad, actually, compared to Spain’s history, an ugly story, Jews as well as Christians lived without much fear compared to Spain where they were displaced, tortured and burned at stakes! Grrrr.

Anyone pretending the West is civilized has to take a good look at history. The history of ‘ethnic’ cleansing and killing people of the ‘wrong’ religion is long and… very recent.

French patriotism which is the revolutionary type that is all about the State and not which ethnic groups one belongs to, the Republic is all about the System, not religious or ethnic identity.  Indeed, the French Revolution went far further than the US in abolishing the powers of the Church.  Like Russia and China, this was a ‘clean sweep’.  Too clean, it was obviously destructive.  But that is the nature of ‘change’.  It isn’t a piddling matter of rearranging the chairs on the Titanic.

BBC NEWS | Europe | Huge crowds join French strikes

Huge crowds have taken to the streets in France to protest over the handling of the economic crisis, causing disruption to rail and air services.

Unions said 2.5m workers had rallied to demand action to protect wages and jobs. Police put the total at 1m.

President Nicolas Sarkozy said concerns over the crisis were legitimate and the government had to listen and act.

He will meet union and business leaders next month to discuss what programme of reforms to follow this year, he said.

Overall, the government estimated that a quarter of the country’s public sector workers had joined the action, which was called by eight major French unions. The unions put the figure higher.

A spokesman for the CGT union told AFP that 2.5m people across the country had taken part in the day’s protests. French police put the number at just over 1m.

Unlike Greece, these demonstrations didn’t deteriorate into open street fighting lasting more than a week.  But that is only one step away.  I remember 1968.  Most people didn’t have private TVs and still went to the theaters frequently at night.  And they drank wine or beer.  Heh.  And we had news reels.  And when certain people appeared in the news, people would roll wine bottles down the aisles and whistle and stomp their feet.  ‘Aha!’ I thought, ‘Maybe this is a pre-revolutionary event!’  For you see, I used to play at being a revolutionary with my Barbie dolls [no kidding here] as a child.

I even made little molotov cocktails that you could light with a match.  Using lighter fluid and medicine bottles.  So I was all ready to rock and roll and by May Day, all of Europe was rocking and rolling along with the tanks.  I knew, as I ran from tanks that clanked along cobble stone streets, that the rebellion was doomed.  This is because the military sided with Charles_de_Gaulle.  They cracked down on us and I had to swim the Rhine to get out of France.  Talk about a polluted river!  This woke me up to the problems of pollution.  Throwing molotov cocktails wouldn’t fix that, would it?

AFP

France and Italy and Spain and Iceland and the Baltic States and Oakland, California, aren’t the only ones feeling this rising tide of revolutionary actions.

Russian protesters storm Putin party office | International | Reuters

ST PETERSBURG, Russia (Reuters) – Three activists stormed an office of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s political party in St Petersburg on Thursday to accuse him of ignoring the plight of ordinary people in the economic slowdown.

Two members of the banned National Bolshevik Party handcuffed themselves to a radiator while another set off fireworks, closing a United Russia office in Russia’s second city for 30 minutes, a party official said.

Our revolutions in Europe spread across the planet like wildfire.  Even into Eastern Europe.  I tried to carry it to East Germany via Czechoslovakia but was arrested, finally, and deported.  Then the military moved in and crushed all the students in Mexico, in Chile, in Czechoslovakia, all over the earth.  In China, Mao hoped to ride the rip tides by having his Cultural Revolution.  This had to be finally suppressed, too, by the military.   These demonstrations and actions we are seeing today will be much, much bigger tomorrow.  They will swell in summer for the best time to have a revolution is in the springtime!  Ah, yes.  Spring!  The sun shines.  We get to be very active in Springtime.

The fact that people are out in winter is significant.  This means we shall see worse, later, when everyone is ready to flame up.

Operation Sarkozy : how the CIA placed one of its agents at the presidency of the French Republic

Finally, Nicolas Sarkozy was inaugurated president of the French Republic. The first decree he signed was not to enact an amnesty, but to authorize the casinos of his friends Desseigne and Partouche to multiply the money machines.

He composed his working team and his government. Without surprise, one finds there an ominous casino owner (the minister of Youth and Sports) and the lobbyist of the casinos of his friend Desseigne (who became a spokesman of the “Gaullist party”.)

Nicolas Sarkozy relies above all on 4 men :

- Claude Guéant, secretary general of the Elysée Palace, the former right hand of Charles Pasqua.
- François Pérol, under-secretary general of the Elysée, an associate manager of the Rothschild bank.
- Jean-David Lévitte, diplomatic advisor. Son of the former director of the Jewish Agency. French ambassador to the UN, he was removed by Chirac who judged him too close to George Bush.
- Alain Bauer, the man of the shadows. His name does not appear in the directories. He is in charge of the secret services. Former Grand Master of the French Great Orient (the most important Masonic organization in France) and former N°2 of the United States National Security Agency in Europe.

Frank Wisner Jr. who in the meantime was named “special envoy” to President Bush for the independence of Kosovo, insisted that Bernard Kouchner be named minister of Foreign affairs with a double mission priority: the independence of Kosovo and the elimination of France’s Arab policy.

Kouchner started his career by participating in the creation of a humanitarian NGO. Thanks to financial support from the National Endowment for Democracy, he took part in operations of Zbigniew Brzezinski in Afghanistan against the soviets, along sides with Oussama Ben Laden and the Karzai brothers. One finds him again in the 90’s working with Alija Izetbegovic in Bosnia Herzegovina. From 1999 to 2001 he was high representatives of the UN to Kosovo.

Under the rule of the youngest brother of president Hamid Karzaï, Afghanistan became the first world producer of opium poppies transformed in heroin locally and transported by the US Air force to Camp Bondsteed (Kosovo). There, the men of Hacim Thaci take charge of the drug and distribute it mainly in Europe and accessorily in the United States. The benefits are used to finance the illegal operations of the CIA. Karzai and Thaci are longstanding personal friends of Bernard Kouchner who undoubtedly ignores their criminal activities in spite of all the international reports which have been dedicated to them.

To complete his government, Nicolas Sarkozy named Christine Lagarde, minister of the Economy and Finances. All her career was made in the United States where she directed the prestigious law firm Baker and McKenzie. At the Center for international and strategic studies of Dick Cheney, she copresided with Zbigniew Brzezinski a working group which supervised the privatisations in Poland. She organized also an intense lobbying effort for Lockheed Martin against French airplane producer Dassault.

The government of France is a parasite.  And it will be removed and the creators will be run out of Paris like so many others in the past.  For the Sarkozy gang is not pro-France at all.  And they will pay the price!  These transplants in France are not patriots just like US negotiators and ruling elites are not patriots, for the US, either.  They have one place they love above all others: Israel.  They snuck into office and thought, ‘Oh, are these Frenchies stupid!  They are so easy to jerk around!’  And just like in the US, the jerking gets harder and harder and then….everything blows up, big time.

The combo of Zionists with Masonic ritualists is interesting, too, in a horrible way.  There is a lot of phallic business involved in all of this.  I keep mentioning how gnomes love sex but not love.  Well, HAHAHA.  Yes, there it lies, in the dark center of this interior universe.  The Great Architect is a fool, of course.  Even the Masons recognize this, dimly.  They want to have a magic formula that opens the Cave of Wealth and Death and many Masons were revolutionaries in the past but like all old revolutionaries, they become frozen in time and become reactionaries.  Refusing to look to the future, they cling to the past.  This means, using military muscle to kill pesky peasants, not free the peasants.

For example, today’s warmongering WP has its neo con Zionist throwing a major fit:

Charles Krauthammer – Obama Distorts America’s Stance on Muslims – washingtonpost.com

Is it “new” to acknowledge Muslim interests and show respect to the Muslim world? Obama doesn’t just think so, he said so again to millions in his al-Arabiya interview, insisting on the need to “restore” the “same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago.”

Astonishing. In these most recent 20 years — the alleged winter of our disrespect of the Islamic world — America did not just respect Muslims, it bled for them. It engaged in five military campaigns, every one of which involved — and resulted in — the liberation of a Muslim people: Bosnia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq.

This right wing jackass doesn’t mention ‘Palestine’ or ‘Gaza’ even once in this utterly insane screed.  The Muslims should thank us for ‘bleeding for them’ which seems to be us killing them 100 to 1 just like the Jews are killing 100 to 1 when they also butcher barely armed Muslims.  It is obvious, which is side is bleeding whom.

Aside from that, this is sort of like a mass murderer telling his victims, ‘Hey, I cut my finger while killing all those civilians, women and children and also, lots of babies!  Cry for me, for a change!’  In fact, this is the sort of noxious attitude Cheney had when he shot a lobbyist friend in the face, not that I am at all against Cheney shooting all lobbyists in the face.

Then there was Mr. Zionist Ignatius ‘moderating’ a very one sided immoderate chairing of the debate about how many Palestinians must die before they finally give up and vanish into thin air.  Now, back to Davos: the Washington Post had another dusty, creepy, annoying neo con running a panel there that supposedly was to debate the issue of Israel and Palestine.  Note that NO Palestinians were there.  They are too revolutionary now.

WATCH: Turkey PM storms off stage over Peres remarks on Gaza – Haaretz – Israel News

The Turkish prime minister asked the moderator, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, to let him speak once more.

“Only a minute,” Ignatius replied.

Erdogan said in Turkish that, “I remember two former prime ministers in your country who said they felt very happy when they were able to enter Palestine on tanks.”

“I find it very sad that people applaud what you said. There have been many people killed. And I think that it is very wrong and it is not humanitarian,” he said.

Ignatius said, “We can’t start the debate again. We just don’t have time.”

Erdogan said, “Please let me finish.” Ignatius responded: “We really do need to get people to dinner.”

The Turkish premier then said, “Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. I don’t think I will come back to Davos after this.”

The confrontation saw Peres and Erdogan raise their voice shouting – highly unusual at the elite gathering of corporate and world leaders, which is usually marked by learned consensus seeking and polite dialogue. It showed how emotions remain frayed over Israel’s offensive against Hamas that ended less than two weeks ago.

Smackdown In Davos. – BusinessWeek

The final smackdown came at the end of the day in the big hall in the Conference Center when Turkey’s Prime Minister Erdogan broke all the rules of polite Davosian public behavior by storming off stage in a heated discussion about Gaza after he was refused extra time to rebute Israeli President Shimon Peres. Washington Post editor David Ignatius allowed Peres to speak 25 minutes, instead of the usual 5. He did, defending Israel passionately. Erdogan was disagreeing with Peres when he left and announced publicly he would never ever return to Davos. Klaus Schwab quickly went after him and, after two hours, persuaded Erdogan to come back next year.

The Jews who run our media love to do things this way: one-sided debates.  Then lots of chatter afterwards, making fun of anyone who dares to argue with their Zionist agenda.  Then, the dirty tricks, digging into the past of anyone who defies them and then broadcasting it mercilessly.  The embarrassment of the Turkish PM leaving Davos was papered over.  But in Turkey, Israel is one of the most unpopular nations on earth, bar none.  The people of Turkey would dearly love to see Palestine plaster Israel in a war.  Again: the people are far towards revolution compared to the leaders who all want to just get along, even if it means killing millions of innocent people.

Middle East Online

Q – Is it possible to bring Israeli war criminals to the international justice?

A – Are you kidding me? On which planet do you think you are?

In retrospect at the major events of the last hundred years, the following horrendous fact becomes very clear: from 1917 (British Balfour Declaration) until this moment, no other nation on planet earth has ever been subjected to so many atrocities on daily basis like the Palestinian nation. Paradoxically, even the European Jews themselves whose sons are ruling Israel today suffered only temporarily on the hands of Nazi authorities in Germany from 1935 to 1945, i.e. before and during the WW II.

Unfortunately, the recent 22-day Israeli massacres in Gaza strip from December 27, 2008 to January 17, 2009 may not be the last one. Despite the hermitic Israeli measures to prevent Western journalists from entering Gaza during the onslaught, using video footages, Webcams, voice-over-Internet massages, blog diaries, cell phones, and testimonies of some UN employees and Red Cross physicians, Palestinians managed to document and break up this extremely violent siege against Gaza.

I couldn’t resist this ‘wanted poster from Israeli peaceniks who are also very revolutionary:

wanted: Ehud Barak מבוקש: אהוד ברק

צו מעצר נגד: אהוד ברק
על פי אמנת ג’נבה ואמנת רומא

האישום: פשעים נגד האנושות ופשעי מלחמה

Cuba to insist on Guantanamo base closure – Raul Castro

Cuba strengthens its demand to liquidate the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay Cuban leader Raul Castro said in an exclusive interview with Itar-Tass on Thursday.

“We will begin more determinedly to insist on the base’s closure. I use an opportunity of this interview to announce this,” he said.

The Cuban leader noted that mass media not always clearly differentiate between the naval base at Guantanamo and the prison camp where terrorism suspects are kept.

Obama won’t do the right thing and kill the stupid boycott and return lands stolen from the Cuban people.  But then, he is in the tight grip of the gang at Davos. He had to call the Chinese President today and apologize for Geithner. HAHAHA.  And so it is: China, at Davos, was like a creditor calling a guy behind in his bills.  ‘Pay or we kneecap you.  Just pay something, anything,’ yells the voice on the answering machine.  So we pay up.

The Gaza debate with Ban, Erdogan, Moussa and Peres is worth watching in full. Please observe the body language.

In Erdogan’s speech, he refers to being kept waiting with his wife for half an hour at the Israeli border after having gone to Ramallah. He then complained that the least Israeli diplomat had never been kept waiting. Peres in his speech simply brushed off this incident as being due to suicide bombers and no apology was issued or referred to, for the treatment of Prime Minister Erdogan,in any of the following news items.

I was expecting Peres to at least say that if the incident had not been investigated it would be now.

Tzipi, if you want to repair the damage, release the women and children you have detained.
