Symbolic Black Outs Are Stupid

I am a big believer in rational thinking.  This is a difficult process whereby one has to change one’s mind due to incoming data and one has to weigh many factors when considering structural systems in order to take into account reality.  The uproar in the ‘environmental’ community this month clearly illustrates how doctrine, wishful thinking, bizarre solutions to difficult problems can tear apart a community and set into motion very destructive forces which have a multi-generation, even a multi-eon disaster horizon to consider.

.

Tonight’s cute little blackout is a typical example of futile, stupid environmental actions that fix absolutely nothing but do illustrate how much energy we waste:  The hour the world goes dark – Climate Change, Environment – The Independent

.

New York’s Empire State Building, Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace, Paris’ Eiffel Tower, Hong Kong’s Government House, the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil and other global landmarks will go dark at 8.30pm local time on Saturday 26 March.

.

131 countries are participating and organisers are estimating that hundreds of millions of people will come together to switch off power in support of saving the planet from climate change.

.

“It is only through the collective action of business, organisations, individuals, communities and governments that we will be able to affect change on the scale required to address the environmental challenges we face,” said Andy Ridley, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Earth Hour.

.

“We are calling on businesses and organisations to use the annual lights-out event as the time to show their commitment to lasting action for the planet, beyond the hour.”

.

This year is the first time organisers are calling on participants to go “beyond the hour” and they have set up a dedicated website in 11 languages to allow businesses, governments and individuals to collaborate on worldwide projects.

.

How infantile is this?  I am just gob smacked.  OK: how about turning off all of those lights…forever?  Eh?  What a waste!  They light up everything these days!  The night skies which I have enjoyed in the past at Kitt Peak are being obscured by an ocean of excess lighting.  Observatories have to be located in very desolate places because of excess lighting.

.

This lighting gets worse and worse over time, not better, because humans like to light up everything like an Xmas tree.  An example of this is the White House Xmas tree which a violent storm took out this winter (note: Mother Nature loves to keep things natural).  That thing is ugly.  It is coated in lights so it looks more like a huge nuclear bomb, not a natural tree.

.

The very first Xmas trees were decorated with pretzels and fruits and they were put there to placate the pixie hearth gods who curdle the milk or burn the roast goose.  Instead, we now coat trees in toxic materials and then waste immense amounts of energy making them light up like fourth of July fireworks.  The hearth pixies are increasingly angry with us as we go insane.

.

The people wasting energy and obscuring the important night skies (all religions originally were attached to stellar observations thousands of years ago) want us to plant a zillion ‘mini-nuclear power plants’ all over kingdom come so we can light up everything to the point, nature dies off due to too much light at night.  Yes, night lights kill creatures. Moths, for example, are struggling to survive due to this.

.

They and other night insects use subtle lights to attract each other for sex.  Now, they fly to the nearest light and die.  How disgusting is this???   People who study insects are quite aware of this mass die-off of night insects who use lights to attract each other!  Why aren’t the environmentalists upset, too?  I am!

.

Of course, because I am also 100% against millions of mini nuclear power plants, I am a villain.  Unlike most ‘environmentalists’ like say, Al Gore, I live what I believe.  I live in a very , very small carbon footprint.  For ten years, my carbon footprint was the same size as a Mongolian shepherd.  Very, very few people lived as close to nature and have as small a footprint as I.

.

I happen to practice what I preach which is why all the literally high flying fake environmentalists literally flying over my property from one event to another are so irritating.  I want them to either pay the piper or shut up.  Instead, they are like the Pope or preachers in church: castigating me about my sex life while raping children and having mistresses.

.

Here is today’s headlines from LA:  Thousands without power, motorists face lengthy commutes as storm hits region.  I lived without power for 10 years.  I didn’t make the news.  But some people living in a city lit up like the White House Xmas tree go without for a few hours and it is bad news!  And the motorists in LA have gargantuan carbon footprints because they always have lengthy commutes!

.

The same website where I got several of today’s stories is all about ‘science’ and half of the stories are about how we have to save ourselves from ‘global warming and then there is THIS insane article:  Drama of Formula 1 receives technological boost – tech – 24 March 2011 – New Scientist.  Whoo hoo!  Got to jazz up formula one racing!  Yup.  We are all going to die of global warming because of formula one racers but we want to race and the rich are the ones bankrolling all of this racing and the world leaders who met in Copenhagen also sponsor these races…HAHAHAHA.  Humans are insane.

.

This is why I say, the entire global warming thing has become a total farce.  No one listens to me when I say, we have to live differently and the people who must change first are not the poor but the rich.  The day the rich living in palaces move into huts and live like peasants, THEN I will say we have made some progress.  But the rich want to live like an Xmas tree!   So they want us to have a zillion nuclear power plants planted in OUR backyards to fuel this insane life they lead.

.

Here is a fear-mongering example that made me laugh:  Risk expert: Why radiation fears are often exaggerated

.

Would you be happy to live next to a nuclear power station?

.

I have been trying to think how I would feel if I were in Japan right now. Would I be rushing out of Tokyo or not? I would love to say that I would be a plucky Brit and sit there with my stiff upper lip. But it is very difficult to know how you would react, especially as people respond to the feelings of those around them. But yes, I would be happy to live next to a nuclear power station, if only they weren’t such big ugly things.

.

I want to take this fool, this monster, this raving idiot and tie him up and leave him in the deserted city next to Fukushima.  And force him to drink toxic water and eat toxic spinach.  Yeah.  Why be so nice?  Tie the bastard up and deposit him inside the melted reactor core!  The poor dear!  His esthetic senses are offended by nuclear power plants so he will live far away in his nice, immaculate Xmas lit up home!  While some other schmuck gets to live with these monster machines.

.

Yup.  This, in a nutshell, illustrates the cynical, evil self-interest of some ‘environmentalists.’  We must have nukes everywhere but they want to be far from it because it looks disgusting but so what?  It will ‘save the planet’.  We see how this operates in Fukushima and Chernobyl: it saves things by wiping out humans.  Oak Ridge where nuclear materials were mishandled, is very ‘natural’.  This is because humans can’t live there EVER AGAIN.  Whoopee.  Do this enough times and the entire planet will be cleared of humans.

.

Which may be the secret plan of these insane idiots.  This plucky Brit who is screaming about how carbon is killing us, should lead an army of screamers to the homes of people living next to nukes and they should pay top dollar or top yen or top ruble to these unfortunate people and then move there.  In Japan, there is an entire city sitting empty just waiting for these pro-nuke idiots to live there.  Yet, not one is volunteering.  Pooh on them all.

.

This takes me to some funny radiation news.  The sun has elements in its light that are bad for pale people of the north who evolved this way to soak up as much sun as possible during the last Ice Age which was very, very cold indeed.  Rich women have higher risk of skin cancer than poor women.  HAHAHA.  These women are kept clear of any nuclear power plants.  But then rush off to irradiate themselves for fashion.

.

Fashion always trumps sanity.  Indeed, a startling feature of fashion since the last Ice Age is how it is so very unhealthy and outright destructive.  We have to look unnatural.  Natural is too ordinary.  To win the sex wars, we doll ourselves up in various ways or in the case of males, buy expensive fast cars and race around or fly fancy jets or sail huge yachts, etc.  The bigger the carbon footprint=better sex with irradiated females with fake tits.  Yes, we love fake, we love unnatural and we hate the environment.  Big time.

.

The same magazine with stories about how radiation doesn’t hurt rich women…oops, it does!  Anyway, the radiation is OK story is next to this story:  Fukushima radioactive fallout nears Chernobyl levels  New Scientist.  Geeze, less than 2 weeks ago we were assured that this wouldn’t happen.  It happened.

.

People accused me of being hysterical when I accurately predicted this would happen.  Environmentalists who can’t predict the future but who go around claiming their future models are accurate should be drummed out of the business.  But they won’t.  Instead, they resort to lies.  ‘A little radiation won’t kill you (unless you are a rich woman!  HAHAHA)’ while at the same time telling us, ‘There won’t be any more Chernobyls’.  Both are lies.

.

We evolved because of radiation causes genetic changes.  Sometimes a star explodes and the earth is hammered by much higher radiation amounts and then evolution jumps suddenly.  There are periodic surges due to this.  The assurances that the present stream of radioactive junk is no problem because it equals say, an hour in a tanning booth with a rich lady who will die due to this, is insane because the rich ladies are dying after they up their radiation quota even a small amount!!!  Wow, who would have thought of that???

.

Meanwhile, like the Viral Empire, the Bacterial Kingdom loves evolution and evolves very swiftly and trust me, loves more radiation which simply increases the opportunities to expand their imperial conquests of all other living creatures:  ‘Superbug’ spreading to Southern California hospitals | L.A. NOW | Los Angeles Times

.

More than 350 cases of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae, or CRKP, have been reported at healthcare facilities in Los Angeles County, mostly among elderly patients at skilled-nursing and long-term care facilities, according to a study by Dr. Dawn Terashita, an epidemiologist with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

.

It was not clear from the study how many of the infections proved fatal, but other studies in the U.S. and Israel have shown that about 40% of patients with the infection die… He stressed that unlike MRSA and other superbugs, CRKP has not spread in communities but remains confined to healthcare facilities.

.

Note how we are accumulating biomatter in the form of elderly people who are viewed by the Germ community as community gardens, in these buildings which are now the motherlode to deadly diseases.  Ergo: you go catatonic and are moved to this site where you can then die of this massively horrible disease!  The disease will eventually escape from these community germ gardens and spread to younger gardens like nursery schools and kill children.

.

This is nature at work.  Nature is cruel.  Nature likes to meld things so they can grow.  If we insist on keeping dying people artificially alive, Mother Nature views them not as ‘humans’ but as ‘food’.  Since we don’t let coyotes, wolves and lions devour humans that can’t run or hunt, the germs have to step in and do the job.  This is how nature works.  We defy nature but we pay a severe price.

.

This takes me to the issue of what we pay for all of this.  I realize humans are scared of death but not so scared, we don’t do stupid thinks.  We kill each other over the littlest things.  We are deadly creatures more dangerous than lions, tigers and bears.  But we can’t win against the Germ Kingdoms which are the tiniest forms of life, the oldest and the quickest to evolve.

.

The attempt at keeping people alive far past their death dates is endangering all humans on this planet.  But we can’t stop doing this because we are scared of death.  This is a paradox that is important to understand.  How do we deal with the inevitable?  Presently, we deal with it in a dangerous and even insane way.  Japan is dying and the parts hit by this catastrophe are heavily loaded with elderly people.

.

And many of them were saved but are nonfunctional and will be moved to other places to continue the slow dying that is a feature of modern society.  And they are dragging down the young who are vanishing.  There is more money spent on the dying than on new life.  Eventually, all of Japan will be tottering on the edge of the grave but it will be a very well-lit grave!  If lit by nuclear power, it might just be a terminal grave.  Bright and deadly for humans.  Even rich ladies wanting sun tans.

.

The search for the vast powers of creation continues:  Physicists create heaviest form of antimatter ever seen – physics-math – 22 March 2011 – New Scientist

.

“They have moved us up to the next element in the anti-periodic table,” says Frank Close of the University of Oxford in the UK.

.

But he adds, “It doesn’t take us nearer to the big question of why is the universe at large not full of antimatter?” Indeed, standard theories say that matter and antimatter were created in equal amounts in the universe’s first instants, but for unknown reasons, matter prevailed.

.

The search for more elements and anti-elements (yes, I am joking here but not really) is very intimately connected to the military and the search for weapons that can annihilate humans but not destroy stuff so the conquerers can move in and exploit resources and facilities.  But the paradox here is very intense: the more we recreate the conditions of the Big Bang and struggle to understand how the deadly cores of all galaxies operates, the closer we draw to annihilating ourselves.

.

The more we flee the Stone Age systems, the more our numbers grow and the more we can evade death for a while but at the same time, the more likely we will destroy all humans and maybe all forms of life.  The question, ‘Why isn’t the universe equal in matter and antimatter’ is simple to answer.  We are in the ‘matter’ cycle right now.  The anti-Big Bang will come when all the galaxies finish falling into the Great Attractor mega-black hole and then we will see it all turn into anti-matter and there will be a Big Bang all over again.

.

I am only guessing.  But pretty sure that our present ‘steady state’ is temporary and the sight of so many galaxies crashing into each other (my belief is that ALL galaxies are really falling towards each other which is why paradoxically, it looks like we are all racing away from each other!) is so interesting.  Our steady state is unstable just as the weather on earth isn’t this stable thing.  It changes.  A lot.  Over time.

.

Trying to trap it in some happy state of being isn’t in the cards for us.  Change will come.  If we think our Xmas lit culture is the cause then we have to cease it, not enlarge it with deadly nuclear power plants.   How’s that for true environmentalism?

.

One last interesting story:  Single atom quantum memories are easier to access.  Computers continue to evolve rapidly.  I do like this.  I like computers.  Always did.  They do use less and less energy each creative cycle of development!  They also have downsides.  As everything does in the real world.  At least they are ‘rational’.

I like how your mind works Elaine You were on a roll when you wrote this entry. I don’t always agree, but you stimulate my thinking, which is rapidly becoming a lost art.

I agree with your premise that humans are prone to do irrational, insane things all the time. Something I realized a long time ago, but which they never bothered pointing out to us in school. We were taught that occasionally a nutjob like Ghenghis Khan might appear among humankind, but this was the exception.

As I see it, sanity is a rare and precious commodity among the higher echelons of society these days.

The Pixies are getting plenty steamed and are about to blow their top I think.

Agreed, its cheesy but where else do you start? You can’t immediately ask people to turn off their own lights for an hour. They(?) will lead by example.

On the hand, you can lump this in with the ‘Gas Boycott Days’ type stuff, I dunno’.
