Dangerous Hurricane Irene Begins To Race North

Most of my family lives in the NY/NJ/MA region.  Hurricane Irene, still building strength offshore of mainly Florida, is now plotted to run right over all of us up North.  The eye, as of the latest forecasts, is supposed to pass over basically, my windswept mountain.  I may be in the literal eye of this massive storm!  Meanwhile, people I love live in the lowlands or on the shores and I must warn everyone to take strong, strong measures to prepare for or evacuate from this huge, gigantic storm.

.

This storm is so big, if it were in the Gulf of Mexico, it would fill the entire Gulf.  The longest part of this storm is over 1,200 miles long, the main storm is over 600 miles across.  This storm, once it moves along the coast, can be a killer.  This is because, if it does this, it will push the ocean along with it.  Moving along the shore like a bowling ball heading for the Manhattan towers kingpins, is going to be quite powerful, that is, depending on the tides and wind speeds, the storm surge can be very powerful.

.

Already, the Governor of New Jersey has called for the evacuation of the Jersey shore (except for Snooki and her MTV gang, they can stay and get drunk…fix more than one problem this way).  To see how dangerous hurricanes are in this region, we should look at documentaries of the worst hurricane to hit this region back in 1938.

.

My husband…who is feeling much better today, finally able to eat food!–has lots of relatives on Long Island and both of his parents were in junior high or high school when the 1938 hurricane hit.  For school had just begun.  They still remember this storm since they had to struggle to get home in it and it was very dangerous with branches falling everywhere and trees toppling over.

.

I used to live right on the ocean in Sea Gate, Coney Island, and lived through 3 hurricanes there, noe of which were more than a weak category 2 or category 1.  Even so, we had storm surges which went well into Coney Island, flooding Surf Avenue, for example.  Here is a good documentary from PBS:  WGBH American Experience . For people living in the shorelines along lower Manhattan, here is the upcoming tidal charts.  Remember: if the eye passes when it is high tide, this amplifies the storm surge greatly.  Timing this is important:  Jersey Shore-Welcome To Shore-Guide.Com! The New Jersey Shore’s Hottest Spot On The Web!

This map shows how the entire coast is in danger.  Word of warning: storage of potable water is important.  One should have at least 20 gallons, better to have more than that.  I store at least 50 gallons of drinkable water here and have 150 of non-potable water.

Hurricane Irene: Current Status and Forecast

Here is a good graphic showing the track (right over my mountain!) and the wind chart showing how the top speed will be 125 sustainable winds as of tomorrow and by the time it reaches my place, deep inland, it will be ‘only’ 75 or so…in the valleys!  I am on a windswept mountain so I add 10 or more mph and this makes it one of the nastier blows up here since 1938.  Hurricane Tracker – weather.com

Please remember: when dealing with Mother Nature, it pays to be more rather than less cautious.  The powers of Mother Nature are immense and deadly.  And this is a potentially deadly storm and nothing on earth is more important than taking care of one’s family and your own lives.  Take care, everyone!

.

I may be offline during and after the storm starting Saturday and through Sunday if it does enough damage up here for we live in one of the most wooded areas of America with millions of trees and power and internet connections may fail.  I hope to be connected during the storm but can’t guarantee this.  Good luck to everyone!

WHAT WILL HURRICANE IRENE DO TO THE LEVEL 5 BIO-WEAPONS LAB ON PLUM ISLAND?

WILL WE HAVE A CONTAGION ESCAPE AND HIT NYC AND CONNECTICUT THAT WILL BE REALLY RIPE BY THE 9/9/2011 RELEASE OF THE MOVIE OF THE SAME NAME, AND INDEED TRAVEL WORLD WIDE? TALK ABOUT THE LUCIFERIANS AND BLOOD SACRIFICE. WELL THIS COULD POSSIBLY BE AN OUTCOME….NOTE POSSIBLY…NOT A GUARANTEE.

PERHAPS, IT WILL ONLY BE THE ZOMBIE PLAGUE THAT CDC HAS TALKED ABOUT AND THEN THE ZOMBIE APOCCALYPSE WILL BE UPON THE LAND.

  7. Good luck, i think there is lots of press hype, they are cheering for the demise of NY i think. Tropical storm for you i bet.
