I just read the article above about the mothership. What insanity. Am I really to believe that there are not advanced mine sweepers in Quater? There are no helicopter equipped modern warships in Quater?
Read this carefully and due note the last name of this informative guy:

I read Das Schloss. It was dark and depressing, and deliberately led the reader down into a dark hole of absolute despair.

This sounds like FDR deciding that he did not want to lose 4 heavy cruisers in Manila, only to decide later that he would accept an attack on Pearl Harbor. Something non-nuclear would be better, but history shows that the unexpected always happens.
BTW, this is more and more like nazi Germany, where little to no pretense whatsoever is made before staging an “event”. It’s just an unnecessary formality to our leaders — a nuisance, really.
You know that the USS Enterprise ( second oldest ship in the US navy. 6 nuke reactor air craft carrier due to be disposed of in 2013 ) is also on its way to the Persian Gulf? She is supposed to be decommissioned next year, and the exorbitant cost of disposing of her 6 reactors and associated crap must be balanced against the value of having her attacked and sunk by those dastardly Iranians.
Yeah, this is where we double cross the entire Middle East by dumping our aging and bloated aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf. No nasty decommissioning of nuclear waste to deal with, and of course, we lost them while protecting international trade routes. The personnel on board will also not be collecting veterans benefits for 30 years, just a single death payment to close out the transaction, plus a memorial. After that, we just use robots.

That is not really a source though. When and where did Sharon say the “America is marching to our orders” quote for example.

That idea is pretty mainstream. If you study international relations at a state-run school, you get happy faces for grades when you write essays defending the concept.
That idea is fascism. International treaties take precedence over domestic constitutions. Then again, Israel doesn’t have a constitution…
And the nations supposed to uphold International law are busy destroying it with aggressive nazi warfare and Might makes Right policies (*cough, cough the US and NATO nations*).
There are many goofy online sites with ‘facts’ that are false. Both government, mainstream news and ‘conspiracy’ sites…they all have to be taken with huge shovels of salt. Over the years, I go to great lengths to try to be as truthful as possible.
It is very hard. Lots of people make up ‘quotes’ that are fiction. But then, history is littered with millions of fake quotes, by the way, et tu, Brute?

Fascism can run alongside a ‘democracy’ so long as certain minorities (and a majority, women) cannot vote. The US did this for nearly two centuries.
I’ve misplaced my copy of “Under the Axe of Fascism”. 😛 I find old critiques of ‘fascism’ much more interesting than modern ones. You’ve got to go back to before the word got so politicized to really grasp what it meant at the time.
I see Amazon has a copy of it with a copyright date 2011, though the author died in 1957. That seems to happen a lot lately. Michael Crichton is still writing books after his death too. The publishing industry must have powerful spiritualists around to channel all these dead authors.
It is a real problem that we lack a modern word for ‘fascism’. It is deliberate of course, but I wish someone smart would come up with a term that accurately describes the modern form of western ‘fascism’, without the baggage of the word fascism (which invariable invokes images of screaming lunatics like Mussolini, the modern type is far slicker).

Plove, I think it’s just possible that you’d find Hannah Arendt’s “The Origins of Totalitarianism” interesting. http://www.archive.org/details/originsoftotalit00aren The first section of her book is about antisemitism, but she talked about it (in 1951) differently than people would now. You might find her more palatable than modern mainstream authors.
