Super PACs Run By Oligarchs Destroying Our Democracy And Economic Power

Ever since the right wing Catholics put in power in our top court by Republican Presidents, we have seen all campaign finance laws tossed into the dumpster.  The Supreme Court’s rejection of U.S. campaign funding limits has opened the door for all oligarchs to run rampant.  Their rule of our nation has been an unmitigated disaster and the US is being internally destroyed by abuse of the banks, politicians and leaders.  They view this nation as something to exploit and devour, not grow and strengthen.

Must-have accessory for House candidates in 2014: The personalized super PAC – The Washington Post

The two got to know each other when Paul, a UNH alum, donated $25 million to endow the business school that bears his name.

Paul is more than just a donor — he approved the hiring of the super PAC’s strategist, a former aide to Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), and weighs in on strategy.

“I’m not driving the bus,” he said. “I may have paid for the bus and hired the driver and suggested where we want to go.”

Chauffeurs drive their master’s cars.  Slaves drive, too, while the master lounges in the back.  Pilots fly planes but don’t choose their destinations if they are employees.  Obviously, so of course, this GOP right winger sneers at us mocking us about this matter.  And in a childish way, thinking he is oh-so-clever.

Anuzis, the former Michigan GOP chairman, has a different view. He said super PACs are a “great equalizer” because they allow individuals a chance to participate directly in politics. “I tell donors, ‘You can do it your way. If you have $500,000 to a million, you can affect a Senate race. If someone can put together $100,000 or $200,000 you can affect a House race.’ ”

Participation at the bottom via public efforts to support candidates is dropping due to people giving up hope.  This is due to the efforts to elect such people flounders once they are elected because the government has changed so much, lobbyists now rule DC totally and can openly bribe anyone elected.

Our oligarch media owners love this as do foreign powers like AIPAC’s boss in Israel.  The Saudis love this.  Previous attempts at bribery got them in trouble like with the Abscam FBI operation that exposed corruption.  Now, everyone feeds at the ‘I make a speech for a million bucks’ launched by Ronald Reagan who was the first to collect millions from a foreign power for a brief ‘speech’.

Oligarch rule is destroying America driving us downwards in all economic scales.  CIA The World Factbook

Purchasing power:

US #1 purchasing power

Ukraine is at #42 in rank below Singapore.  It is just over $300 billion compared to Russia at $2.5 trillion.  The US is highest in spending power due entirely to our immense, record level of trade deficit with the world and our ZIRP debt machine.  Our purchasing power is nearly all debts which are huge.

For all that spending and debt, our economic growth rate is near the bottom of the barrel:

Oh, we are slightly better than North Korea!  Meanwhile, look at Ukraine’s growth rate which is below zero at this point, last year when the coup happened, it was 0.4%.  Russia’s growth is worse than the UK and US but we are all in the same boat that is sinking like the Titanic due to the need to restart the Cold War.

Note how ‘imports of goods and services’ are -16% which is eating away at our economy, hugely.  And services are 80% of our economy!  Not exactly a world manufacturing power.  Our oligarchs have, thanks to free trade, turned our nation from the world’s #1 manufacturing power to this:

Screen shot 2014-07-21 at 8.10.07 AM

The sales and managers have ballooned to over half the employment while manufacturing, mining and driving vehicles is only 20% and if we remove the transportation part, it is very low, less than 15%.

On the GINI wealth gap index the US is mired in the middle which is disgusting considering we are supposedly the world’s #1 economy:

Russia, which we are being trained to hate, is even worse off than us in this regard and our media oligarchs trumpet how oligarchs run Russia which is just pathetic.  Our war machine is really a looting operation which does create jobs and also makes our oligarchs much richer such as this turkey:  Makers of F-35 Combat Jets to Help Keep Cost of Fighter Plane at $80 Million – WSJ due to the embarrassment of this barely able to fly procurement embarrassment.

Nearly half a trillion tax dollars which is sold as debt mainly to China, will be built. Most of the money for this goes not to the workers on the line but the management, sales staff and lobbyists in DC.

Europe’s media and rulers are whipping the puppies there into barking at Russia like mad.  This is fatal, of course.  Note the graph above showing Europe’s production is way below before the banking scandals and collapse.  It was already declining again in 2011 and will crash later this year.  Meanwhile, Putin: Taskforce at Malaysia MH17 crash site not enough, full-scale intl team needed which is obviously correct thing to do.

While Putin struggles to stop the flood of hate directed towards him for being a strong leader instead of a drunk leader like Yeltsin,  Kiev forces attack city of Donetsk, civilian casualties reported because the Kiev coup is at war.  And killing civilians left and right and bombing cities but that is OK because bombing in ethnic warfare is OK with the US and EU which supports this in the Middle East which is all on fire these days.

One last tidbit: the US Federal tax levels are 182 in rank with the world, namely one of the lowest in the world and the rich pay Fed taxes and have absconded with our collective wealth by voting for tax cuts for themselves while running up huge military and trade spending/red ink bills and papering over all this with immense loads of debt.

With few exceptions, Taiwan being one, all the other countries that pay little national taxes are third world nations.  Thanks a lot, oligarchs.  You are turning us into a third world nation.

The Oligarch elite want what they have in Brazil. Super cities and grand estates surrounded by miles of dirt poor people suffering in poverty. Poverty keeps them powerful. It makes the rich believe their blood is more magical than the rest.

  2. vengeur

What we need is a Speech Tax: A 90% tax on anyone making more than say 1000 bucks on a speech. Not for revenue, of course, but to put a stop to this repugnant influence peddling by our politicians.

  3. CK

Those speeches are a tax deductible business expense to the companies and charities that sponsor them. Remove the tax deductibility instead.
This would leave AIPAC and various other foreign governments as the only buyers of expired politician’s political claptrap. Why attempt to tax the once-powerful, still well connected whores whose only sin is trying to monetize what they have that was of value. Remove the subsidy; remove the issue.

  4. vengeur

Great point CK. I didn’t know that is how it works.

  5. CK

Well, the people who write the tax laws will all be on the speech circuit sooner or later. So do not expect them to remove the tax exemption on their future earnings. Them as suck at the public teat will continue to suck long after their elected or appointed capacity has vanished. No one cuts off their wallet to spite their lack of morals.

Exactly. This is because the oligarchy is almost universally psychopathic also. They believe themselves to be gods. In actuality, they’re not even human. They’re parasites wearing human skin.

Well, the people who write the tax laws will all be on the speech circuit sooner or later. So do not expect them to remove the tax exemption on their future earnings.

Well, why can’t it be like the “Audit the Fed” campaign we’ve been running? (Ron Paul’s “Campaign For Liberty,” or C4L.) At this point, it is only the obstructionism of Harry Reid and the rest of the bankster lapdogs in the Senate that keeps that bill from a vote; it’s passed the House, anbd by a huge margin. And polls show the public is now overwhelmingly aware of the issue of the Fed, which they weren’t when Ron Paul started blowing the alarm horn in earnest five years ago. So, how about the idea of raising awareness of the “speech” payoffs to Congresscritters by the oligarchy? Journey of 1000 miles and so forth.

  7. CK

Would you wish to see our no longer elected parasites dying hungry and unloved in the streets? Allowing them to parasite the body politic is what America is all about.
So I have no desire to educate the populace on how the speech payoffs work. I don’t do awareness raising for the masses. EMS has been attempting to do awareness raising since Ex-Pres. Reagan was purchased by the Japanese. It availeth not. Ex-President Clinton was purchased by the Carlyle org among others, The ex-presidents Bush have been purchased by the Saudi royal fops among many others. At lower levels, senators, veeps, cabinet secretaries have been purchased by AIPCA, Turkey and the Gulen sect, JINSA, SunMicro, Boeing, Oracle, … the list goes on forever. It is what democracy is, the ability to purchase politicians and bureaucrats.
For a very long time in American history, it was understood by all that government was not to be trusted. But governing types keep looking for loopholes and they found a huge one.
The Pendleton Civil Service Reform Act of 1883 destroyed the ability of the citizenry to vote all the bastards and their parasite friends out. Prior to this act, when the elected parasites were voted out, all the bureaucrats went with them; a new group of parasites took over the government. And luckily, it always takes new folks a few months to a few years to be able to muck up the job. A few months later the current parasites would be voted out and yet another new bunch would take offices. ( Consider that Garfield was assassinated by a “disgruntled office seeker.” Someone thought they were entitled to job that someone else’s friend got.) Gads but I miss the spoils system. The gogos won and have never let their feet of the publics throat since.

  8. John

What are “gogos”? And yes, I wish to see the parasitic psychopaths in their power suits dying in the streets by the dozens. A pathocracy is most certainly NOT what America is all about.

  9. CK

A GoGo is a believer in Good Government. They believed that if the spoils system was removed, that government would become Moral, honest, efficient and democratic.
They were wrong. They won. We have been paying for their wrong with generations of sociopathic and psychopathic politicians and permanent bureaucrats.

  10. emsnews

Wrong. What killed it was opening the door to MORE corruption. That is, influence buying via ‘speeches’ and ‘not for profit fundraising’.

  11. Name (required)

    Jesus f*cking Christ.

America has always been a “pathocracy”.

It’s just that the post FDR era recently expanded white middle class is now “feeling the pain”.

Get used to it. Or be a warrior and fight back like a true radical. But the “good ol’ ( [white] boy) days” are over.

  12. emsnews

Yes, we began as a slave power. And the middle class won a war with the rich and passed laws protecting unions. Now, after Reagan, the unions are dead and the middle class is dying.

  13. Christian W

Robert Kennedy had a different vision. You can see why they had to kill him.

“Too much and too long, we seem to have surrendered community excellence and community values in the mere accumulation of material things. Our gross national product–if we should judge America by that–counts air pollution and cigarette advertising, and ambulances to clear our highways of carnage.

It counts special locks for our doors and the jails for those who break them. It counts the destruction of our redwoods and the loss of our natural wonder in chaotic sprawl. It counts napalm and the cost of a nuclear warhead, and armored cars for police who fight riots in our streets. It counts Whitman’s rifle and Speck’s knife, and the television programs which glorify violence in order to sell toys to our children.

Yet the gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages; the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. It measures neither wit nor our courage; neither our wisdom nor our learning; neither our compassion nor our devotion to our country; it measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile.”

  14. CK

Actually the colonies began as a resource base for England. The 26 colonies that Great Britain had, had much indentured servitude ( Irish and Scots ). African slaves were introduced into the Caribbean colonies first.
A Dutch slave ship made port off Jamestown and traded 11 blacks for food and water. That was in 1619. There was no regularized slave trade until much later and it was started by the arrival of “second sons” of Barbadian sugar plantation owners into South Carolina.
As a slave importing colony for over 100 years, calling the English colonies a “slave power” is incorrect. The slave powers were the Kings of Dahomey and the other rules along the African slave coast and the owners of the blackbirders. Mostly Dutch and Brazilian Jews.
Brazil being the main destination for slaves during the colonial era.
The British navy direly needed the first growth Oak and Ash and Hickory available in the New England and Middle Atlantic forests. Forestry is not a slave amenable occupation.
I will agree that the growth and short lived power of the American Labor movement was what allowed the creation of a middle class, unfortunately not sustainable in a democracy. Possibly the current mindless influx of Central American teenagers will lead to a new growth in unionism a few years from now. Unions as strong and honourable and concerned about their members welfare as the Unions of Mexico and Central America are today.

  15. DeVaul

Wow. I never knew that JFK said that. I am sure those around him, expecially his vicious vice-president, had no such vision in their minds. I wish he had not been assassinated.

I would like to think that the kids and teenagers trying to get into our country would create a better social community than what we now have (if any), but my fear is that they will be brutalized by the remaining aristocracy and their police army, and the trauma from that will lead them down the same path that many black teenagers have taken (and now many rural whites as well).

I see warlordism in the future, not unions. It takes generations to overcome the systematic barbarism of organized central governments (criminal syndicates), and the equally mindless propaganda they produce.

  16. CK

“… It takes generations to overcome the systematic barbarism of organized central governments (criminal syndicates)…” Truer word have rarely appeared on this web site.
My own expectation is that these new importees will be used against what remains of the working class and middle class of Americans, I say this because if their is one thing that is true it is that being the head honcho of a banana republic is a lot more fun that being a democratically elected “public servant” in a democracy. Import Banana Republic population and expectations and you will get a Banana Republic.
By the Way, all politicians say shit that they do not mean and have no intention of doing. Kennedy just said his shit with a Massachusetts accent.
