Phoenix AZ Declared Hottest Year EVAH! Except No Heat Records Broken All Summer? Rrright….

17 U.S. Cities Headed for Warmest Year Ever » EcoWatch: yes, there were a couple of cities nearly all of which were in the narrow ‘warm’ belt along the West Coast and slightly inland, that were ‘hot’ last year.  Phoenix, Arizona was one of them which amuses me.  Virtually no days were ‘hottest ever’ but thanks to manipulating statistics, they can still claim it is hottest which is ridiculous. I have lived through 3 ‘hot cycles’ that come every 20 years when the sun peaks in its solar cycles.  This is the coldest solar cycle, ever, rivaling the very cold 1970’s cycle.  And any warmth last winter (summer was NOT hot at all in Phoenix!) has vanished as we see from maps this week, for example.

Midwest Winter Temperatures Were 15F Colder In 2014 Than In 1932 | Real Science: and this year is vying for the same record.  We have seen cold records set all across the nation last year except for that tiny yellow parts we see in the above map.  This is an exceptionally small part of the US (Canada froze pretty bad, too, of course).

It went down to 3º F here on my mountain last night.  Here is an example of total insanity:  2014 Set for Record Hot; Record Cold Thing of the Past | Climate Central as the woman writer there who seems to be a complete dunderhead, froths onwards about how insignificant the super cold was last winter, claiming totally falsely that it affected only a small sliver of the nation instead of 90%.  She, like all the Ships of Fools in climatology, focuses only on Los Angeles and nearby neighbor cities.  OOH.  So hot…there!

Idiots all!  I know that LA fries brains like eggs on a Phoenix pavement in summer long ago before the cooling began!  Here is an exchange of comments made by myself and Gail Combs about this matter at Steven’s website:

emsnews says:

The declaration that we are super warm aka Warmest Year EVAH! is infuriating. These clowns know perfectly well they are lying bastards but have taken a deep breath and yelled out, during this very cold cycle, that it is super warm.

Astonishing and reminds me of the invisible clothes for the king stories. Yes, the climatologists are all stark naked and shivering cold but they continue to complain about roasting to death. Wish they would roast to death.

Instead, we may see them freeze to death!

2014 was warmest year ever for Phoenix – CBS 5 – KPHO: this is just too stupid.  At least this Associated Press article does mention meteorologist Steve Garry who mentions this is mainly due to Phoenix weather stations being on one of the worst urban heat spots in the US.  Phoenix used to be very rural in my childhood.

This is so insane.  My family lived in Arizona since 1880. Last year was NOT THE HOTTEST EVER. Period!

It was slightly warmer than other years during the winter but the summer was not hot at all and trust me, hot is super hot!

Furthermore, I remember Phoenix in 1955 and it was one tenth the size of today and the airport had Apache Airlines and AA lines only and was quite small and very rural, you walked on the tarmac to the plane to climb the ladder or stairs!

And now it is a major LA-sized mess of a heat island. Hugely hotter than the surrounding land. I remember when Phoenix and Scottsdale were mostly agriculture, I used to swim in the irrigation floods when they fed the citrus and date trees. We used to knock out dates from the trees using cactus wands which are very dry and flexible and light. I was only 5 years old and did this.

The farmers would shoot at us with birdshot if they saw us doing this….fun childhood. All gone today.

This sort of childish cherry picking by warmists irritate me no end.  At Huffington Post, all the cop haters there who want chaos are sneering how this latest blast from Ice Age conditions north of us, elicits sneers about ‘well…this IS winter!’  Then these cretins tell us we are roasting to death and winters are vanishing.  As if!  None of these lunatics dare come to my mountain to debate me while naked in January.  I would love to host this debate but alas, no one shows up and the bear population here is getting pissed at me.  I better get my guns out and defend the home front.

“The farmers would shoot at us with birdshot if they saw us doing this….fun childhood.”

I grew up a bit way out around Long Island and it was mostly farms then as well. My friends and I would run through the fields, pick up stray potatoes that had fallen off the farm trucks and throw dirt at one another. Of course, the farmer would show up eventually with his beebee gun.

    Those were fun times.

Almost all of it is gone now. Most of that farm land was sold to developers who made Mcmansion parks or super rich elite who have created mega, private golf courses. It was rumored that the one near my old family home helicoptered in the President to golf there.

We used to roam for hours away from home at age 5 on.
Nowadays parents get CPS called on them for letting kids go outside.
As long as we were back for dinner,or dusk my parents didn’t worry.

Well, you know, it’s a cold kinda heat.

I was looking at the SDO site, and some other solar sites, looking for any commentary on that big dark splotch near the south pole of the Sun. I didn’t find any. There were some blurbs about prominences and ejections and whatnont, which have been much more subdued on average than in past solar cycles.

You could see it in all the images taken in short UV and Xray wavelengths, but the only comment I have seen on it is from melponeme, here.

I’m sorry it was Ken, here. Yesterday. A post from With a follow-on comment from mel.

The solar dynamics sites didn’t even notice it.

Hey you appear to agree with “NCDC Breaks Their Own Record For Data Tampering In 2014 “ Has he discovered the algorithm used within CO2 cult to promote their religion. S-CO2-ientology

A much better Long Range Weather & Climate Forecasting. The Crazy Englishman, Piers Corbyn, (astrophysics), at WeatherAction and his theory about sun electrical field, solar wind connected to earth magnetic field, modulated by the moon, controls the Jet Stream behavior. Solar-Lunar approach.

More info on coronal holes …

Apparently those large polar coronal holes are seen at the solar minimum. We just had the lowest solar maximum in a century, so maybe we could expect an unusual minimum as well.

It’s worth noting that the image in which we see the hole was from data gathered at the 192 Angstrom wavelength, which is characteristic of Fe XII, or iron atoms which have been stripped of 12 of their 26 electrons. Such extreme ionization only happens at a really high energy level, in the super thin gas of the Sun’s corona. You won’t see the hole in the familiar yellow light that warms the Earth, which comes from the photosphere. Less hot by several million degrees, but much much thicker, and producing a much greater volume of light. This astronomer first demonstrated that iron could become so highly ionized, and that traces of it can be found in the Sun’s corona.

The coronal hole represents something going on with the magnetic field of the Sun, but exactly what it means to our weather is poorly understood right now. Probably more activity in the Van Allen belts, and maybe more auroras at high latitudes. Any effect on the weather depends on whether it triggers cloud formation, and at what altitude.

I mentioned the coronal holes showing up last month, too. Yes, this is usually a minimum activity and solar scientists are wondering how little we know about all this since we didn’t even know about the coronal holes until we had the solar satellite observatory launched less than 30 years ago.

There is so little we know. We didn’t even know there had been an Ice Age way back when my great grandfather taught science at Yale!

My grandfather was amazed by the Ice Age which was thought to be a one time event never to happen again back in 1900. Then multiple Ice Ages were figured out…during my own childhood!

Now we know for certain, we are in this incredible Ice Age/Interglacial cycle with the ‘normal weather’ we so love being the exception, a rare, brief event in between grinding glacial bitter cold events and we still have only wild theories as to why this is happening suddenly in the last 2.5 million years.

  8. The thing is, Elaine, the elites HAVE to have Global Warming! Otherwise, they can’t justify the construction of shiny new offshore cities to get away from the existing crummy seaside burghs.

Privatized offshore cities: the new climate apartheid

Financier-developers with ties to some of the century’s most notorious war criminals are building Eko Atlantic, an offshore city near Lagos, to house the burgeoning, confiscatory millionaires of Nigeria, while in the oft-bulldozed slums of Lagos genuine, climate-resilient floating buildings are taking to sea.

Eko Atlantic is where you can begin to see a possible future – a vision of privatized green enclaves for the ultra rich ringed by slums lacking water or electricity, in which a surplus population scramble for depleting resources and shelter to fend off the coming floods and storms. Protected by guards, guns, and an insurmountable gully – real estate prices – the rich will shield themselves from the rising tides of poverty and a sea that is literally rising. A world in which the rich and powerful exploit the global ecological crisis to widen and entrench already extreme inequalities and seal themselves off from its impacts – this is climate apartheid.

Oh boy, in time for the hurricanes! 🙂

You have an interesting idea of “fun,” I must say. 🙂
