MIT has invited Ghassan Hage from Australia to bloviate about how ‘Islamphobia’ the idea that people may be terrified of Muslim radical terrorists screaming ‘Allah akbar!’ while slaughtering everyone in sight. He claims that this fear of insane Muslim terrorists is also causing…hold onto your knickers…GLOBAL WARMING, too! Tying all the liberal phobias and freakouts into one bundle, he is popular with some campus youth who have little world experience and thus, easy targets for strange and contradictory lunacy lies.
Before talking about this crazy business, I want to say here that once upon a time, I was the winner of the National German Language contest in the US, tied with a German student who took the exam under false presentations and after winning this at age 16, I got a scholarship to study and Germany for a year and was eventually deported after school ended in summer when I was running around Europe in 1968, giving speeches to student rebellions and was caught finally in Nüremburg when I foolishly let it be known that some Czech students were going to smuggle me into Prague…fun days, back then. Foolish youth!
Well, in the US, I was working towards a degree in the German Language and already wracked up quite a resume when this was brutally eliminated from nearly all universities and German was no longer a major, only a minor and I was minoring in music and had Russian and Hebrew under my belt, too. Perfect for working inside the CIA but not when one is fighting the CIA so I had to kiss all that goodbye and good riddance so I instead, went into construction business and made money the hard way, by really working.
Since my sudden departure from Academia to enter the Real World and make Real Money, things seem to have slipped into oblivia there. MIT, I often trotted over there to hang out with the practical students who study stuff that is useful to society. There was none of the crazy sixties silliness there and when I worked for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the computer research labs, I did see some creeping political-correct stuff entering the science institutes and now…it is like kudzu, overwhelming everything, everywhere in academia and no one is allowed to say, ‘This is insane bullshit’.
Is ISLAMOPHOBIA accelerating global warming? | MIT Global Studies and Languages is a perfect example of creepy kudzu brain eating zombies at work:
Global Studies and Languages values diversity and inclusion of our students, faculty, and staff with regard to their backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Diversity and inclusion are furthermore central to our curriculum, with many of our subjects dedicated to multicultural perspectives, or questions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, class, ability, and social justice.
This isn’t about learning languages. It is about Marxist class/race warfare! HAHAHA. Bettina Stoetzer | MIT Global Studies and Languages is running the ruined remains of the German Department at MIT as a part time job. Here is her real work:
Bettina Stoetzer is an anthropologist whose research focuses on the intersections of ecology, globalization, and urban social justice. Her current book project, Ruderal City: Ecologies of Migration and Urban Life, explores the changing cultural politics of nature and citizenship in the city of Berlin.
Drawing on ongoing fieldwork with immigrant and refugee communities, as well as environmentalists, ecologists, and policy makers, the book illustrates that human-environment relations have become a key register through which urban citizenship is articulated in contemporary Europe.
More specifically, Ruderal City engages several sites that have figured prominently in German national imaginaries – urban wastelands, gardens, forests, and parks – to show how current racial, ethnic and class inequalities are reconfigured in conflicts over the use, knowledge and management of nature and green spaces. Bettina holds an M.A. in Sociology and Media Studies from the University of Goettingen and she completed her Ph.D. in Anthropology at the University of California Santa Cruz in 2011.
Before coming to MIT, Bettina Stoetzer was a Harper Fellow in the Society of Fellows at the University of Chicago. She has published on topics such as transnationalism, cities, affect, ecology, and film. She also is the author of a book on feminism and anti-racism in Germany (InDifferenzen, argument, 2004) and has co-edited Shock and Awe. War on Words (New Pacific Press, 2004) – a collection of essays that explores the current global situation through the political lives of words.
There are no Americans running German programs in the top schools. The Germans who taught me gave me respect because I went to Tübingen, Germany, which is right next to Goettingen which is in Southern Germany and I mastered the language the hard way, thoroughly. Now, the universities simply import foreign labor to teach which is why this woman’s resume uses the made-up word ‘imaginaries’ describing her Marxist theories.
She notes that these imaginaries lead to conflicts over ‘knowledge…and green spaces.’ Anyone looking at the Middle East destruction can see what that does to ‘green spaces’. This creepy woman isn’t even a German Language specialist like I was, she is a SOCIOLOGY person! And ‘Anthropology’ too. What is she doing, running a language program?
As for the Islamaphobia Muslim ‘professor’, why is he being hired to spew this sort of insane tripe? This is total lunacy. One can see how Germany was nearly totally destroyed by a bunch of guys like these two people who told the Germans that they are cursed for being Deutsch and should allow armies of dangerous, angry Muslim males to invade and attack.
Tons of leftist propaganda has been dumped onto German heads over the years as the Maoists retreated to the campuses and got degrees and accept very bad pay to spew their poison. I looked at what is going on and I did work in academia as recently as 1994 and it is a hell hole operation with part time staff working at slave wages. Only Maoists would accept this, any sane person would, like me, go elsewhere for money.
