The Democrats have doubled down on the idea that we should have open borders even as terrorists continue to proliferate and declare war on us and Hispanics demand the right to take away citizen’s jobs but that is OK with the DNC which hopes to have power based on two populations: blacks on welfare and Hispanics who come here illegally. So when Arizona sought to include citizenship-verification requirements with voter-registration forms, the institutional Left — including the League of Women Voters, People for the American Way, Common Cause, Project Vote, and Chicanos for La Causa — brought a lawsuit claiming that the EAC hadn’t approved such requirements. Incredibly, this fight over whether states can ensure that only citizens are voting went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. In 2013 in Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, a divided Court said that Arizona could not implement such a requirement unless and until the EAC agreed to change the instructions for use of the federal form to include the Arizona requirements.
However, the majority opinion in that case, written by Justice Antonin Scalia, stipulated that if the EAC refused Arizona’s request to accommodate the proof-of-citizenship requirement, the state could sue the EAC and establish in court that “a mere oath will not suffice to effectuate its citizenship requirement and that the EAC is therefore under a nondiscretionary duty to include Arizona’s concrete evidence requirement on the Federal Form.”…
Arizona asked, and a single bureaucrat at the EAC named Alice Miller, who was not an EAC commissioner, but only the acting executive director, denied the request. It’s not even clear that Miller had the right to make this — or any other — decision. At the time, a quorum did not exist on the bipartisan, four-member independent commission.
And that decision is starting to look even more suspect. It seems that Miller may not have been the one who actually made the decision after all. Sources inside the Justice Department tell me that, in fact, it was partisan, left-wing lawyers in the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division at the Justice Department who actually drafted the denial letter. This is significant for several reasons.
First, the EAC is supposed to be an independent federal agency. While the president is empowered to nominate commissioners for the two Democratic and two Republican commission slots, in practice the president consults with the majority leader of the Senate (Mitch McConnell) and the speaker of the House of Representatives (Paul Ryan), as well as the leaders of the minority party in both houses, to pick the nominees. Because the EAC deals with federal election administration, the legislation establishing the agency — the 2002 Help America Vote Act — was designed so as to provide the EAC with political balance and to be outside the president’s control.

It is the same cadre of lawyers that dismissed a voter-intimidation charge against members of the New Black Panther Party who physically threatened voters in Philadelphia to help President Barack Obama get elected in 2008; that has waged a war on voter ID and other election-integrity measures; and that has refused to enforce the Voting Rights Act in a race-neutral manner as called for by the plain text of the statute.

While liberals are bending over backwards to show how “open minded” they are in welcoming our new Muslim “friends”, they would do well to heed the fact that Muslims don’t generally feel strongly about civil rights for women. Huge strides that have been fought for and won by women in Western countries don’t exist in most of what is left of the Middle East.
They also don’t look to kindly upon gays, but look the other way when it comes to pedophilia, esp. with young boys. But hey, all cultures are equal, right? Michelle doesn’t look too happy in her Muslim garb, poor thing. 😦

The liberals hate the Westboro baptist church with a passion, a hate I tend to agree with them on. How dare those nuts protest with their signs. Yet they embrace Islam, a religion that doesn’t hold protests against gays or feminists, their religion encourages them to kill gays and feminists instead. An action a 1000X worse than protests, but yet it’s OK because it isn’t done by a western religion.
And modern liberals are so woefully historically illiterate. They don’t know about anything that happened before last Tuesday, except for the crusades and the killing of native Americans. There’s a valid reason our ancestors fought so hard to keep the Muslims out of Europe. I think they’ll probably try to break up Syria to create an “independent” Kurdistan (or pipelineistan). The “radical islamist terrorist” gambit is sort of running out of steam now.

A student government leader at the University of Houston was suspended for 50 days and ordered to attend a diversity seminar after she criticized the Black Lives Matter movement online.
Shortly after the July 7 shooting in Dallas that killed five officers, Rohini Sethi went on Facebook and opined “Forget #BlackLivesMatter; more like AllLivesMatter.” The statement was later deleted, but only after numerous UH students denounced it as incredibly offensive or even hateful.
“Just for her to say, ‘forget Black Lives Matter,’ is a punch in the stomach,” student Nala Hughes told a local press outlet at the time.
Sethi serves as the vice president of UH’s student government association (SGA), and several UH students demanded her immediate removal.
A full removal of Sethi has significant hurdles, though. The student government constitution requires the student body president, president of the student senate and three-fourths of present student senators to approve impeachment proceedings. Sethi would then be tried by the student supreme court. (RELATED: U-Houston Faculty Told To Avoid Sensitive Topics To Keep Students From Shooting Them)
Instead of going through that arduous process, the student senate approved a measure giving SGA president Shane Smith exceptional one-time powers to punish Sethi as he saw fit. In response, Smith released a letter Friday outlining a set of five punishments for Sethi. The punishments include:
A 50-day suspension from SGA starting August 1. This suspension will be unpaid (she currently receives a stipend of about $700 a month).
A requirement to attend a three-day diversity workshop in mid-August.
A requirement to attend three “UH cultural events” each month from September through March, excluding December.
An order to write a “letter of reflection” about how her harmful actions have impacted SGA and the UH student body
An order to put on a public presentation Sept. 28 detailing “the knowledge she has gained about cultural issues facing our society.”
If Sethi refuses or fails any of the requirements, she will be kicked out of SGA entirely.
Smith notes in his letter that the punishment was particularly harsh because, in his view, Sethi hadn’t recognized the severity of her offense in declaring that all people’s lives matter.
From this point forward, we’ll update this section with the list of people who are either fired, fined, or sent to racial consciousness rehab (diversity training) for daring to criticize Black Lives Matter or black criminality… or, in the case of Dallas Weatherman Bob Goosmann, simply pointing out a black person is a thug for trying to kill a white police officer.
