Rand Paul has once again used his Senatorial powers to stop dead in its tracks, ‘unanimous’ passage of bills without being read or debated. Over and over again, the Bilderberg gang who runs DC without consultation with the voters, tried to have big bills passed with zero debate or examination. This is how Obamacare as passed, for example. Standing up to the globalist rulers is dangerous and Trump is an outsider who has no idea how this works. Rand, on the other hand, grew up as an insider who was also an outsider, he dad not belonging to either major party.
Senator Paul is hoping to add two important amendments to the NDAA. The first one would prohibit the indefinite detention of American citizens by the military or other arms of the federal government, something Congress purported to authorize in 2012 in a previous NDAA.
Note how none of the fake liberals who pretend to be for ‘liberty’ and ‘justice’ are all for jailing people for any reason they wish. This is pure tyranny. It is also evil. I am glad that one person has stood up to the Machine in this vital civil right.
The other amendment being sought by the liberty-minded Kentucky senator deals with the so-called “Authorizations for the Use of Military Force.” Also known as AUMF, the scheme was invented by the feds in a bid to fight illegal wars without actually having to declare war, as required under the U.S. Constitution. Both indefinite detention and the AUMF have been criticized by non-establishment conservatives as well as some liberals, despite support from the establishment.
This began with the Korean War which was called a ‘police action.’ When that proved to be a bad war, they decided to not do it again only to do it again fighting North Vietnam instead of North Korea. That, too, was an even worse disaster.
On and on it goes. It is all about imperialism and the two Afghan wars and two Iraq wars were all illegal and illicit and all four are total failures. When will people figure this out? The illegal wars tend to be FAILURES.
Back to the first article here:
Under Senate rules, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, was hoping to move the massive “defense” bill forward after the failure of the ObamaCare repeal last week. Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), were willing to go along with the scheme to move the legislation without debate or discussion.
But when Senate leaders tried to obtain “unanimous consent” to move it along, Paul objected, thereby stalling the effort. Paul said little, but his communications director, Sergio Gor, explained the senator’s reason for holding up the bill was to insert the “bipartisan amendments, one on ending indefinite detention and one on AUMFs.”
Apparently Paul is seeking a sunset clause on the AUMF, which has been exploited to justify endless war all over the globe. “He looks forward to working with leadership and the committee to get this done soon,” Gor said.
The military/industrial complex and our fake allies all depend on shoving the US voters into one war after another after another. Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing and then continued the endless and repeated illegal wars, too. He never returned the prize. Shame on him.
In interviews with earlier this week, Paul noted that Trump is considering penning an executive order to get the job done, following the failure of Republicans in Congress to pass legislation.
“I just got off the phone with the president, and I think he and I both want to get something done,” Paul said.
“What I’m talking to him about is that I think through executive action, I think he can legalize the health associations that I’ve been talking about.”
Rand Paul is playing the Senatorial games to the hilt. He has to be careful, he doesn’t have as many bodyguards as Trump. He is enraging the most powerful people on earth who have zero scruples and who have a history of being very violent, killing entire countries if it suits their agenda.
Good luck, Senator!
