Great Lakes ice cover 13 percent higher than last year because air temperatures are far, far below normal.
As more and more sections of the planet are hammered very hard by extreme cold, my mountain was finally above zero at night last night! It rained and iced today, due to temperatures being a balmy 36ºF. But it is going back to zero again after tomorrow. Meanwhile, the severe cold that hammered me is now hammering Europe: UK weather gets an Arctic blast that ‘could kill one person every seven minutes’ | Daily Mail Online
ENSO Page | Watts Up With That? Showing that the present el Nino is now el Morte.
The New York Times, to my great surprise, has published a truthful article but pitches it so that it is still all about global warming theories being ‘correct’ even if they are totally whacked-out wrong: Research May Solve Puzzle in Ocean’s Rise:
A team of researchers reported that sea levels did not rise quite as much as previously believed in the 20th century, possibly explaining a discrepancy in climate research.
It went to below zero again on my mountain last night. This is a colder than normal January so far. Something not mentioned in US news much: Mars was warmer than much of the U.S. today | Daily Mail Online
The daytime high in the red planet’s Gale Crater, as recorded by NASA’s curiosity Rover, was 17.6 degrees F – a whopping 11 degrees warmer than the 6-degree high in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Temperatures in fourteen states from Washington to Maine reported temperatures colder than Mars, as a brutal blast of Arctic air sweeps the country.
Mars just recently passed its closest orbit to the sun, which partially explains why the temperature was relatively balmy. The Gale Crater is also located in one of the warmest parts of the planet, near the equator.
17 U.S. Cities Headed for Warmest Year Ever » EcoWatch: yes, there were a couple of cities nearly all of which were in the narrow ‘warm’ belt along the West Coast and slightly inland, that were ‘hot’ last year. Phoenix, Arizona was one of them which amuses me. Virtually no days were ‘hottest ever’ but thanks to manipulating statistics, they can still claim it is hottest which is ridiculous. I have lived through 3 ‘hot cycles’ that come every 20 years when the sun peaks in its solar cycles. This is the coldest solar cycle, ever, rivaling the very cold 1970’s cycle. And any warmth last winter (summer was NOT hot at all in Phoenix!) has vanished as we see from maps this week, for example.
Vatican City: the Tiny House the Pope lives in.
French Alps – Snow strands 15,000 vehicles in Savoie as Europe goes in the deep freezer and in the UK – Motorists stranded by snowfall in Yorkshire while in Asia, Bone-chilling cold paralyses normal life in Rajshahi, Japan has had many blizzards this month, China’s Yellow River froze and in India – “Unprecedented snowfall” in Himachal Pradesh and this week, Blizzard warning for Hawaii mostly, I guess, due to Global Warming President Obama visiting there. So, time for yet another deranged man living in a giant palace, telling us we have to stop using CO2 oil/gas and live in Tiny Houses and walk everywhere! The Pope joins the chorus, ‘We are roasting to death!’
Here is NOAA’s stupid map showing how hot it is: NOT! Nearly all of North America, nearly 100% of South America, half of Africa, most of Eurasia is…COLD. Very cold! The ocean in certain places where there are nearly no thermometers is ‘hot’ except Antarctica is cold and it is going into high summer there this next month! This is pure insanity. Even if the Arctic is ‘warmer’ than normal, it is still freezing cold there, very cold, just maybe not quite as cold as ‘normal’ meaning 1979. Anyways, NOAA had to announce this insane news about us roasting to death even though nearly all the continents are way below normal because there is this big meeting where our rulers are going to announce we are all roasting to death and thus need to pay high taxes to them.
We didn’t have anyone over for Thanksgiving because there was this blizzard. This entire month aside from maybe three days, has been well below freezing and it feels like January. We had a lot of snow and it didn’t stop until Friday morning. This wasn’t a light, fluffy snow. It was as dense as cement and very hard to snowplow. I had to plow out the road six times to clear it off. First plowing was the top 6″. And had to use chains on the tires and 4W low drive. Then the sun came out and I baked some cookies today. Next weekend, if it doesn’t do anymore global warming, I will have a delayed Thanksgiving for everyone.
