GOP Budget Cuts Force USGS To End Their Very Informative Earthquake Map Site

ANSS – Advanced National Seismic System

This week's Alaska earthquake with new USGS map

Over the years, I have noticed the web does not get more informative or better data, it has odd deteriorations.  For example, Google has degraded very badly over the years.  No cache data where you click on the icon and get past postings, it no longer highlights the word you are searching which makes it more like a needle in a haystack hunt for data, etc.  Now, probably thanks to cuts in government spending by House Republicans, a highly important website is being trashed: my beloved USGS state by state map site is being terminated!

Fiscal Cliff Averted In Senate But Not House

huffington post headline

Here is a screenshot of the The Huffington Post.  There is anger on the left over the budget deal.  Anger on the right, too.  Both left and right refuse to understand how Congress must operate and thus, have rendered it nearly impossible to function as a government which isn’t so odd since this happens everywhere, it seems.  Democracies don’t always function fully and even break down very badly.  It really depends on a stable population that is contented especially a secure and very large middle class. When a society evolves into a lumpen proletariate/rich elite society, it is destabilized. And three generations of tax cuts, huge trade deficits and continuous, wild war spending has driven the US economy and political entity off of many cliffs.  And this latest budget deal has little to do with fixing what went wrong way back when we started down this stupid road to the edge of destruction. US Due To Sail Off Fiscal Cliff Into Radioactive Economic Plume

USS Reagan staff jokes about radioactive poisoning

Click her to see You Tube video of USS Reagan staff laughing as radiation alarms wail:  The USS Reagan sailors sailed directly into the most deadly plume of nuclear poisons during the worst of the Fukushima explosions and fires.  They thought this was funny!  A joke.  A laugh riot.  Now, a year later, they are scared, understandably.  The economic/financial mess we are in is the same.  We don’t take much of this very seriously and strange going ons cover up what is needed to save us from economic doom.  Everyone has a game plan and few have any basic knowledge as to how systems work, we just sail in circles in and out of poisonous radioactive economic forces that are invisible to us. Counterpunch Michael Hudson Doesn’t Understand History Of Financing Wars

History is a difficult study.  People love to read and think about history but also edit it so it obeys various ideological rules.  This way, one can read history and learn nothing.  When I read people’s examinations about ‘money’ and ‘capital’ and ‘labor’ it is quite clear the US prohibition against reading Karl Marx has taken a huge toll on our collective ability to figure out what are essentially simple concepts.  Instead, I see on the ‘left’ calls for printing and distributing paper money and on the right, tax evasion, a refusal to fund the government and an inability to understand how sovereign wealth operates. Mayan GOP Budget Apocalypse: The Gods Wreck Boehner’s Power

Boehner Budget Failure Followed Pressure From Conservative Groups: Plan B from Planet X failed in Congress.  Aliens, which run Congress, were ordered to wreck America by December 21 and they failed in their mission to cut social services and cut taxes to fellow aliens from outer space who run Wall Street in a reptilian manner.  Even multiple human sacrifices in America and China didn’t stop the collapse of the Tea Party.  The Mad Hatter and March Hare leaders in the House and Senate GOP are now hopping mad with their own party.  Obama, playing rope a dope, won in the end.
