No OK Corral Gun Game At Phoenix Festival

Screen shot 2016-07-04 at 7.27.16 AM

As we celebrate the violent removal of the King of England’s rule over the colonies which was won via shooting lots of guns and cannons and which my ancestors fought, we do this via Chinese-style fireworks which is funny in itself.  Let us not forget who invented gun powder!  Well, politicians in Arizona have decided celebrating Arizona’s infamous past gun battles is evil so it is now going to be wiped off the face of the earth.  So take that, great grandma Steele, the lady who killed people herself back when Arizona was a wild territory and her Calvary husband was off chasing ‘terrorists’ back then.

We Know Very Little Direct Information About Our Local Star, The ‘Sun’

Kitt Peak Solar Observatory – Pics about space

I had a very unusual childhood. All my parents and grandparents including the women, were all astronomers.  I grew up in various observatories from Yerkes in Wisconsin where I was born as my mother left the observatory that night and in California, Texas and above all, Kitt Peak in Arizona, a mountain my father chose because he thought it was beautiful and a great place to live.  I am watching in horror as NASA which my dad also, a rocket expert during WWII, helped found with Kennedy, is rapidly being destroyed by the childish ‘global warming’ hysteria which came out of left field, so to speak.  I watched it evolve because I know Al Gore and the others involved because they knew my dad.

At WUWT there is this raging debate about our local star which ignores the reality of what this thing is: A SMALL STAR which is insignificant compared to most stars.  It is very small, has little power but has endurance because the giant stars all die quickly and blow up spectacularly whereas ours rolls along at the outer fringe of the Milky Way Galaxy puttering along for a billion or so years, happily circled by little planets and so far, evading all the big, explosive, nasty hotter stars that menace us.  But alas, as we circle the Galaxy we are also being drawn into that ferocious inferno and will end up annihilated in the bitter end…try telling that to small children!

Which Grandpa Pettit merrily informed me when I was less than ten years old.  Hilarious, no?

Common Core Catastrophe: Analyzing ‘Stone Fox’ A Idiotic Story Children Must Understand To Pass The CC Tests

I have marveled for quite a while about the insane Common Core school reforms that makes things infinitely worse for US students who struggle to catch up with Asian and European students who learn mainly via older, traditional school methods that worked for hundreds of years.  Each time someone ‘fixes’ our schools they do worse and the attempt at getting poorer, socially dysfunctional students to ‘learn’ has made it harder for regular children to learn and this whole mess is causing huge problems which is leading to the entire collapse of the US public school system which I was part of as a child and which everyone assumed, worked OK back then.

Oxfam Warns We Will STARVE Right When Grain Speculators Claim Record Crop Due To Possible Warm Summer

Screen shot 2014-05-20 at 8.06.21 PM

See these beautiful national landmarks? They’re all imperiled by rising seas and wildfires: you see, it will be warm and ice will melt and we will all die!  At least, according to global warming fanatics.

Today, Oxfam warns price of cereals will surge because of CLIMATE CHANGE | Mail Online: every warning is about this topic with no examination of what is causing this ‘change’.  So far, crops are being hit hard by extreme cold and wet conditions in the North American bread basket states of Canada and the US.  But this is due to low sun spot activity, not CO2 at all.

Massive Coronal Hole Covers Quarter Of Sun: The Sun Is Colder

Cold sun: massive coronal hole June 2013

NASA – Massive Coronal Hole on the Sun: I grew up watching the sun.  My grandfather and father were solar experts.  I witnessed the founding and building of the Kitt Peak National Observatory when I was a child.  Next to that observatory is this peculiar large rock which we children called ‘Turtle Rock’.  I played on and under that rock formation which is now fenced off like most of Kitt Peak.  Anyone who has this many years watching the sun (family discussions with people who have over 100 years of observations to draw upon) knows the sun is not a steady state entity.
