A Rutgers University student-led pro-Palestinian organization in New Brunswick, New Jersey, that was placed on an interim suspension for allegedly disrupting classes and more, has been taken off suspension and placed on probation for one year.

The Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at Rutgers was placed on an interim suspension on allegations that the group “disrupted classes, a program, meals, and students studying.”
The suspension was reduced to ‘do as you please, just don’t do it so loudly’ which is stupid. The agitators will resume terrorizing everyone else as always.
“Rutgers typically issues an interim suspension of organizational activity when a student organization is facing multiple conduct complaints,” a Rutgers spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Friday. “The conduct case involving the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter at Rutgers-New Brunswick has been resolved and the interim suspension of organization activity is over.”

New York Times coverage of Israel skews pro-Israel. Today NYT talks about how administration at Brown University, Northwestern, and University of Minnesota have agreed to discuss divesting from Israel in exchange for the protest camps on their campuses being dismantled. NYT notes that up until recently no university would have dared to even consider such a thing, because it’s going to infuriate certain powerful donors. They’re a bit worried this could become a trend. But the article does say, “One donor, an investor who has made sizable contributions to the university and describes himself as a supporter of Israel, said members of the administration had assured him that Brown wouldn’t ultimately divest from Israel.”
Even if the administrations pull off a scam where they hold a vote on divesting which is successfully rigged so the powerful billionaire donors can’t lose, the public conversation has shifted. Divesting couldn’t be discussed before and now it is. And the new generation is much less afraid of their power.

They kept at it, getting the Balfour declaration from the British in 1917, and official recognition of the state of Israel from Harry Truman soon after World War II. @11, EMS, the first half of the 20th century taught us that we can’t afford to just accept that wars are endless and will be endless. After WW I the Great Powers of Europe realized that another ‘World War’ would finish them off, but they weren’t smart enough to act in their own self-interest even then. After Nagasaki and Hiroshima it became obvious that the stakes had gone up again.
Israel has nuclear weapons, and for at least a few more years it has the political leadership of the US in it’s pocket. Power is shifting eastward though. You never talk about it anymore, but the growth of an alternative Chinese-based system continues. So American support is less and less of a trump card.
If the US isn’t smart enough to prevent another world war, at best it goes the way of the European Great Powers before it. The worst outcome is as bad as it gets.
History of world wars: lets go back to say, the Mongol invasion of all of Eurasia…they killed EVERYONE in their path of destruction. That was in the Middle Ages after the fall of Rome.
The Mongols didn’t take 200 years to conquer everyone they met, they did this in less than 50 years!
The destruction of Western Roman Empire: it went from a mighty empire with vast cities to near-total destruction, population dropped by 75%, in less than 100 years, almost all the fancy, marble and brick Roman buildings were in utter ruins.
Rome, itself, was nearly totally annihilated as if a nuclear bomb fell on it. Mere barbarians did this!
When civilized humans freak out, they get annihilated by illiterate, poor barbarians who easily kill all the ‘civilized’ people who are of no use to the barbarians who are quite content to live in little huts and hunt for food.

Geography favored the Mongols, unfortunately. Central Asia is flat and fertile for thousands of miles, with no natural barriers for an army on horses. Eventually, of course, the Mongol strong man was replaced with the not-so-strong, and so it goes.

By 1914 1 man with a machine gun could kill a few hundred men per minute. Some soldiers at the time said it had become like mowing grass. Waves of men charge their position across a few hundred yards of mud and they’re essentially charging into a meat grinder. In WW I they developed poison gas, which was even faster.
Since the 1970’s we’ve been able to make the planet uninhabitable in a matter of hours.
