I keep seeing stories of misery in the news. But when we examine these stories closely, we see more clearly how personal greed often overwhelmed common sense. Common sense is very uncommon. People imagine they have this particular virtue but often, do not. This is due to our tendency to want to do something out of either fear or desire, things we know are wrong or stupid. But have justifications for doing it, anyway.

Staying solvent is very difficult. Building up savings is even harder. This is a cultural/ideological issue which has to tap into various belief systems in order to be operational. The human tendency is to not save. The biological tendency is to save. These two forces are in constant internal conflict. The cultural imperative to save occurs in societies that are industrializing. The cultural impulse to go into debt is imperative to all systems that are deindustrializing.

It was rather sobering listening to the deindustrializing states lecture the industrializing states on the subject of the ‘global savings glut’. This preceded the total collapse of the banking system of the deindustrializing nations. We are still deep in the middle of this collapse. The cure for this mess was more debt piled onto the systems of the deindustrializing states. This will cause future problems which cannot be solved by denying public healthcare for the populations of the deindustrializing states.

They owned a flower shop. They had hundreds of listings. In 2006, each woman made six figures. They leveraged heavy debt, buying three dream houses with subprime mortgages. Jenkins drove a Corvette. She belonged to Crofton Country Club, around the corner from the garage she now rarely leaves. .
Then, in October 2007, Jenkins contracted a staph infection that grew serious, forcing her to bed for seven months. With no money coming in, her savings were soon depleted. She sold the flower shop at a loss. No longer able to pay for health insurance, Jenkins stopped taking her blood pressure and asthma medications and promptly had three minor strokes and two heart attacks.

So, there are gods that punish humans for hubris. This woman is one of the participants who caused our entire nation and then, the entire planet to suffer an immense financial collapse as big as the Great Depression. Far from being a victim, this woman is one of the many criminal elements that used debt to increase her personal wealth. The reckless use of debt in this fashion is at the root of the causes of the global financial collapse. As the former industrial giants like England and the US deindustrialized themselves, the populace from the very highest levels to the very lowest, all became addicted to easy credit offered by the industrializing nations.

So, instead of saving money, they all jumped into an ocean of red ink and spread it all over the place. This lady NEVER had ‘savings’. She had debts. Her savings never matched her debts. Savings occur ONLY when one has more money in savings/investment systems than debts. Instead, thanks to the lure of cheap lending, everyone who wanted to get rich, quick, ran off to get loans for SPECULATION purposes. Always, throughout history, this is the golden road to hell.

This is why governments must regulate this. Whenever a government detects the use of loans for speculative purposes, it must crack down. This is because borrowers can’t take ANY losses! The instant losses exceed less than 10%, often less than 1% of their incomes, they have no way of paying off these loans. They default. The default rates of deep in debt speculators is spectacular. Having zero prudence, their reckless attempts at making a killing end up killing the Golden Goose. This is beyond pathetic.

It is a lesson. Over and over in history, we learn this lesson about using borrowed money to speculate. This reckless real estate lady could have paid off all her debts including the debt on her own home with a three figure salary. I did this on less than half of this income. It is quite possible. I know a number of prudent people who have done this on far smaller incomes. Instead, she bit off more than she could chew. Now, the prudent people on earth are being asked to bail her and her ilk, out of the mess they created due to being reckless and greedy.

The paradox of religious belief systems never ceases to amaze me. The nice thing about understanding the eternal Cave of Wealth and Death which seems to be the innermost chamber of the human emotional/mental system is more useful than the more disengaged religions. That is, the warnings of danger and the obvious connection of money to destructive forces are much easier to comprehend.

Back to the deindustrializing states going into debt: England is high on the list of nations doing this. The idea that doubling the debts will save these nations is pure fantasy. Instead of importing everything, England has to prevent imports while providing more of its own industrial needs via its own industrial output. The US is even in worse shape. We have decided that exporting more and more while importing twice as much will lead to us being solvent and wealthy! This insanity which has created vast seas of red ink, is being fixed by our government doubling its own debts, year after year, except for one. That is, once under Bush Sr. we had no trade deficit and once under Clinton, we had no budget deficit that year. Amazing!

Pensions are savings. Pensions are vanishing in all the deindustrializing nations. This is very much connected with the ZIRP borrowing system. It is EASY to save IF you make money, saving! But if savings brings in less than 1% profit while the banks make a 4% profit on lending, there is NO REASON TO SAVE. People are forced to SPECULATE, instead. This is very risky. But safe savings are now eliminated. In Japan, the home of ZIRP, people have to do currency speculation as well as send their savings overseas to say, China, to ‘grow’. Japan is not deindustrializing like the US and England so they have a positive trade flow. And thus, have savings.

As I pointed out in the past, all attempts at reforming the present system were short circuited by corrupt governments. This is why Congress bailed out Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan and Citigroup, etc. These guys are now settling back and doing exactly what they did before the collapse. And this is why I say, humans are very hard to change.

Should the public consider this for even a moment, they would quickly realize that the single payer is the taxpayer and the administrator of the system is the government via an army of bureaucrats.
All Socialized Planning Requires Progressive Rationing
Those of us who have studied socialist planning know that all such plans are sold to the public as being of low cost or
even as paying for itself. Then several years later, the costs have risen so rapidly that new regulations have to be implemented to control the ever-escalating cost. The politicians began to panic when the public begins to complain loudly and this forces them to find ways to reduce the services being provided without causing more complaints.
One thing health care economists know is that the most expensive care is among the elderly — they have the most complex problems and usually multiple problems. They also have the greatest number of complications during treatments, mainly because they often have poorer healing ability and a fragile constitution. Over fifty percent of health care cost is from caring for those over sixty-five years old. With a growing number of elderly (nearing 50% of
the population) the health bureaucrat sees financial disaster looming on the horizon — it’s much like the eugenics and population control fanatics.
They see an exploding population as bringing disaster to the world. Both see as the answer as reducing the number of people, especially those over age sixty-five and soon the world will be overcrowded. The number crunchers in government and the think tanks knew that the every rising number of people living past 70 years was bankrupting the Social Security System.
Now they see it as overwhelming the health care system. In both cases the answer is to reduce the population in question and do it so it doesn’t appear to be murder by the government.
The only reason the Canadian system survives is because the medical system in the United States cares for many of their really sick patients. The US scanners in the boarder states work overtime scanning Canadian patients because the wait to be scanned in Canada is so long. We act as the Canadian government’s relief valve, but then what is going to happen when we are strapped with a similar system? I predict both will end up bankrupt.
Just our experiment with Medicaid and Medicare alone has been a financial disaster — it is in debt to the tune of 36 trillion dollars, more than the entire GNP of hundreds of nations and costs continues to grow exponentially.
The more controls added to the system, that is the more regulations and impediments to access, will mean necessarily more dead people, mostly the sickest and the oldest. But then, isn’t that what they have been calling for, for over 100 years, as quoted earlier?
This sounds very close to what Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel states regarding providing too much health care to the “hopeless” and those at the end of their lives. Here are some quotes from the good doctor:
“Medical care should not be given to those who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens. An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia.” “Unlike (health care) allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not discrimination.”
“Doctors take the Hippocratic oath too seriously as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of the cost or the effects on others.” Dr. Emanuel was appointed by the President as the “health czar” and as his chief advisor on designing America’s health care.
Who Owns Society? The question must be asked: Who owns society? Are we allowed to live in this country only at the behest of the government or a selected group of wise servers who shall decide our worth? Are we to be judged as worthless life, as a social liability because those with power deem it so?
As the economy worsen, which they can engineer with their Federal Reserve friends, people will be more accepting of such things as euthanasia on the elderly and terminally ill, the insane, the feeble-minded and the chronically ill.

You need to be consistent – people have to be responsible for all their actions. If she doesn’t take her medicine and has a bad outcome, why should we have to “bail her out” for her reckless actions?
Her situation is very sad, and hopefully she’s learned a lesson.
As the government goes bankrupt from reckless spending, corruption, and a rotten-to-the-core financial system, all the expensive entitlement programs will need to be pared back. It sounds like the woman living in her garage has paid for the stupidity of her previous decisions. I think so-called adults are really just stupid little children, driven by base needs and desires and pretending to be all grown up. For gosh sakes, i doubt if any adult actually took the time to read their mortgage, credit card statement or bank account paperwork. The amount of FRN’s created is based upon the corporate government’s borrowing or appetite for debt. For example: If the corporate government prints $100 billion in interest-bearing U.S. bonds and takes them to the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve places the $100 billion in a checking account and the government writes checks or prints debt currency against the balance. In other words, this private banking system creates so-called money out of thin air and the bankers get interest on it forever. In addition, new debt and debt currency has to be created just to cover the compounding interest. An ideal “Ponzi scheme.”
Keep in mind that bonds are IOU’s and are to be paid back by the people through their future labor or the labor of their posterity. That is why wars are created and perpetuated, government bureaucracy and empire building increases, and superfluous spending continues. They create an ongoing and ever increasing debt to enslave the people and their posterity. Debt must be continually created to feed the debt-credit economy system.
The so-called expanding economy always needs new debt notes (FRN’s) and therefore more debt must be created. Budgets can never be balanced in this type of system. If the budget is balanced, the economy will collapse because no new FRN’s can be printed and no new debt credit created.
The FRB pays 2½ ¢ per FRN note printed whether $1 or $1000. The US in-turn pays FRB interest indefinitely for each outstanding note or representation of a note. With electronic banking FRN’s are created out of nothing and nothing being printed. What a deal……………………………….These are the facts.

One of the things about that woman living in the garage now, everything she did was not merely legal, it was in most cases encouraged and subsidized by the various governments to whom she paid her obeisances.
The Treasury can force banks to hold more reserves. This is what China did 2 years ago, just for example. Holding reserves means banks can’t lend more money. End of story.
When money is being borrowed to speculate, this means interest rates are too low and credit is too easy. Borrowing money should be a PENALTY until paid off. This prevents inflation.
Instead, we liked being in debt very, very much. People who could borrow tons of money to buy profit properties, stocks, etc were all doing this while in debt. This meant, THEY WERE NOT RECYCLING CAPITAL. They were using debts….made out of thin air. Magically. With the full blessings of the death gods and goddesses in that little cave inside our own heads.

People become surety for the debt by a number of different ways. One way is by a Birth Certificate when the baby’s footprint is placed thereon before it touches the land. Whoa…foreign governments were involved in the attack? This is like the US saying that Pearl Harbor was attacked – but we can’t tell you who attacked us. Surely we have a right and need to know who all was involved and the extent of their involvement.

But in my estimation, that administration was too gutless to risk accountability for using any official levers of the state, such as ordering a pentagon “stand-down.” (just look at the Ollie North affair to see the risks of using levers of the state.) Moreover, the arrests of the “five dancing Israelis” indicating a “false flag” operation by the Mossad using Arab terrorist shit-heads evidences a lack of unified government intent. Beyond that, knowledge of the attack specifics would be compartmentalized for operational security reasons. How many officers (and enlisted men) would need to be permanently silenced after a “stand-down” order?
My conjecture for debate: maybe this is an example of “divide and rule” by “deadlock.” The bankers (Rockefellers, Rothschilds, etc.) “deadlocked” the administration through general knowledge, and then “deadlocked” the Israelis/AIPAC into a paranoid course of media/political/wallstreet control through fear of the potential American response to the truth behind the arrests. Can you say Tsarist Russia or Weimar Germany? Now is the beginning of the same old stories: in both, bankers ruined the places and then blamed the ethnic group of some of their most trusted and loyal agents. That way, no one came looking for them and they got to play their game again. Perhaps, we see a continuation of the “divide and deadlock” strategy with Madoff’s alleged 100 million dollar contribution to Obama the summer before the election, money used to pay for taxi rides in contested jurisdictions. Then, after Obama wins, Madoff is revealed as the greatest fraudster in history. Ooops! But, the anglo-american banking elites in charge of the media cover it up for Obama, for a price, like hand-picking most of his cabinet, along the same lines as the Tsarist Russia/Weimar Germany strategy.

ELAINE: The very same 2 minutes that the first jet hit the first tower, I was running around, screaming, ‘There are going to be more attacks!’ It so happened that Atta’s plane flew VERY LOW over my mountain an hour earlier and I ran outside and saw the AA on the tail and was stunned. Usually, military jets fly low over my roof.
I was even more stunned when it turned and slowly flew down the Taconic Valley and then over the Rensselaer Plateau. By the time the second jet hit, Andrew Card told Bush ‘America is under attack’ and Bush responded by SMILING and continuing reading ‘The Pet Goat.’
So, BEFORE the Pentagon was hit, the President was told this….and didn’t contact Rumsfeld who was sitting at his desk, playing tiddly winks. While EVERYONE in NYC was running around, screaming, ‘We are under attack!’ This is why I say, Rummy was told to ‘stand down’ because Bush gave no instructions after hearing, ‘America is under attack’. You people should listen to Elaine. For one thing, she isn’t always right, she knows that, and she acknowledges such, often.
Ralph, you are right that the legal system is corrupt, but your assertion that Judges can’t cite law made before 1938 is FALSE. Judges can cite common law going back to the middle ages if they so choose.
It is true that they are bound by the most recent decisions in higher courts of their jurisdictions, so there will be more cites of recent law.
I also think that a lot of the newer law is crappy compared to the older law.
But this example supports Elaine’s warning about accepting things that are provably false.

Modern laws are all a tangled. The ancient laws have certain verities based on custom. I am rather a conservative person when it comes to the law. If we need change, I like to have it made legal.
I filed my first lawsuit when only 15 years old, suing my school district for the right to take shop and auto classes and to use the boy’s weight lifting room and run cross country.
I won the case 6 years later, when well into college. I am still proud of this. Heh. They actually had to film me using tools and doing long distance running. It was argued in court that I would die if I ran 5 miles. So, to prove I could run 5 miles, my lawyer filmed this. It was FUNNY AS HELL.

ELAINE: I have gone to court on behalf of children in the past (including for myself, when a child, on my own behalf!) and I happen to know how the system operates. Of course, there is one major rule in the court system: a lot of it is LOCAL. Not national. I happened to have chosen a national issue at one point, when suing in Federal Court, that is, the Civil Rights Act laws. And I won.
So don’t get all crazy on me and claim you know it all and I am dumb. So far, you seem to read only the weirder rants online and swallow this stuff whole without careful investigations.

ELAINE: we have child abuse laws. Some of these come directly from me! I worked with the Civil Liberties lawyers to explain various details in laws protecting children. I have seen HIDEOUS child abuse cases. I should write up a long list of these some day. When I was still underage, Judge Castro in Tucson, AZ, gave me premature majority so I could sign contracts when only 16 years old. I had my own home, too. I got this without first getting married. Set a precedent.
Children have civil rights. They are not slaves of the parents. The parents can’t just do anything they want to the children. Children often have no idea how ‘normal’ people live, there are plenty of records of children being kept in cellars or attics, half or all naked, in the dark, for YEARS. There are many such abuses and everything in between. I used to sponsor children seeking court protection from crazy parents quite a bit. Starting when I was 16 years old.
It is generally conceeded that it is easier to tell who is a mother than to tell who might be a father. Parenthood being important only for the passing on of land, and stuff.

This is cold hard fact and I lived through it. Nobility and mothers line might be the reason it was used in Spain. In America in 2009, the STATE owns your kids, and the courts enforce it as such.

ELAINE: I am rather curious about your loss of custody of your children. Once upon a time, only fathers got the kids in a divorce. Then, women could get the kids if they could prove the father ‘abandoned’ them by running off with his mistress. Then, the pendulum swung too far and the fathers almost never got custody. It is now swinging back again.
People usually conduct battles with each other via their unfortunate children. This is all very sad. When I got divorced, my ex and I worked out a very nice sharing of the children affair. But when my son’s school in NJ went bad, I took full custody with my ex-s blessing, to save him. Then, my son and I moved his dad up here to live with all of us and we are all great friends and love each other and I have a very civil extended family.

You are distracting us from larger issues.
Many of the folks (and their attorney’s) whose kids are taken by the government are complicit; they couldn’t live with themselves if they were to actually sign them over, but they aren’t going to protest too much. As a result, some of the proof in the proceedings can seem a little tenuous.
But, show me some non-drugged-out parents who aren’t literally on skid row and haven’t broken any of their kids’ bones, who are willing to tell their attorney to fight and go to the press or who otherwise scare their case-worker with their tenacity, and I’ll show you some parents who probably keep their kids. If you won’t fight for your kids, you don’t deserve them; that’s likely part of the caseworker’s mentality for assesment.
The only loyalty I hold higher than the Constitution is to my family. . .

Please – leave the kids out of this mess.

Back to the fun discussion of trying to understand religion…

When we pray to saints, ancestors, angels, Jesus, or whomever, you pray for God’s will to be done, not for yours. Nobody is changing God’s mind, because nobody can know the will of an all powerful and supreme being, and the all powerful being always gets what He wants, regardless. So whatever happens *is* God’s will (this concept is why religion is so comforting – everything happens for a reason and everything has a purpose, even if we don’t understand it).
Why do we have to ask for good things to happen? I guess so we can grow closer to God. “Seek, and ye shall find” and “Knock, and the door will be opened.” God wants us to freely choose Him, to seek Him out, to accept His love, and to love Him back.
Just like Jesus in the garden before his agonizing death, sweating blood, said, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will'” (Matthew 26:39). Now you’ll probably say this proves God is a death god, since he wanted Jesus to die. Someone else might say it’s just part of God’s plan for us, that Jesus had to die so he could rise again, to conquer death and save all souls (to bring them to God).
Now you might also say again that God required a human sacrifice and that proves he is a death god. [Sheesh, I better stop – I think I’m arguing with myself on your behalf!] But scripture says “unless a grain of wheat shall fall upon the ground and die, it remains but a single grain with no life.” So, sacrifice is required for the greater good. Why? We’re not supposed to understand everything – it’s just God’s will.
See? No worries. Trust in God from your heart, gut, and entire being, and stop thinking so much! It’s good to question everything, but we’ll never have all the answers. So it’s better to trust in a higher power and be at peace. That’s my religion.
Then why waste your time praying? Why waste your time doing anything religious if this has no effect? I know from life experience that everyone of every religion uses every magic trick in the book to get their various gods to NOT KILL THEM.
Or to transmit them to some other place besides ‘death’, whatever name that place might be to the religious believer.
People fear, if they don’t do magic, everything will go WRONG and they will starve to death, get viral plagues (because there are no vaccinations) or volcanoes will erupt, earthquakes will happen or plagues of mice, toads, grasshoppers of teenyboppers will destroy your crops. 🙂

I guess you’re arguing against me saying that God always gets what He wants and His will is always done (so it doesn’t matter what we do or pray for). OOPS!!! I guess I have to go back and change what I said! I’m really not a theologian or even that religious, so I haven’t thought everything out all the way. But I change my mind the more I think about it. God doesn’t always get what He wants. After all, He really doesn’t want us to suffer (beyond what we can handle and beyond what’s good for us; yes, suffering can be good for your character). And He wants everyone to have a relationship with Him, but here’s the key: He lets us choose. It’s because we choose the wrong thing that bad things happen, when we choose to act for ourselves and against His will.
God does listen to you and grant what you seek if it His will, and if you ask/pray for it. I guess the good question is why doesn’t God have His will done regardless, even if we don’t ask Him for it, since He’s all-powerful. That’s because His will is for us to love Him freely (to let us choose), and for us to learn for ourselves.
But what do I know? Maybe all religion is just superstition to give the illusion of control, as you so cynically surmise.

C’mon, you’re a loving mother, surely you understand this. You love your kids, you let them make their own way and face the world on their own, make their own choices, and suffer the consequences / learn their own lessons. You don’t smother them and force them to be safe and always do the right thing; you want them to be free, and to grow, and come back to you because they love you. Just like you can’t force them to love you when they’re going through their various stages of development.
Well, God is a loving father and creator of us all, and let’s us choose how to act, to bring pain and suffering to others through our actions, or to bring well-being and healing. We can hate each other and try to steal from, enslave, murder, rape, and disrespect each other, or we can love each other, treat each other well, and alleviate each other’s suffering. The choice is always ours. It’s true that if everyone loved each other perfectly, there would be no real suffering on earth, and God’s kingdom will have come. Or maybe I’m just a stupid dreamer.

@K-Bo: I understand your concern about whether or not to seek, it is a valid concern. Allow me to share this perspective, at a higher level everything is going according to God’s plan. Therefore the urge to seek, which comes from within, comes from the Lord. If you believe as W.C. does, that the Law of Cause and Effect rules the Creation, then you understand that the act of looking for God will ultimately bear fruit, and draw God to you in time. In the East there is a saying, “When the chela is ready the guru appears.” Guru, from the Sanskrit गुरु, which means one who brings one from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. Therefore any amount of time one spends in seeking the Lord is time gained; well spent. In fact, it is the most rewarding of all human actions, for its reward is permanent. So do not worry, apply yourself to this noble task. For everything else there’s VISA & Mastercard. 😉

We also worship the dark cave of birth. That is, we attempted, even as ‘cave men’ to relive our own births whereby we come from a dark, damp place called the womb and then suddenly come out into the light.

I don’t know why bad things happen to innocent children. Life is sometimes random, cruel, and unfair, and it’s hard to see how any god would plan something that way, and I know a lot of people are angry at God for letting bad things happen to them or others. But if your faith in God is great enough, then you accept there must be some reason and purpose for it, and for suffering in general. My feeling is that suffering, sorrow, pain, and grief are a way for us to grow closer to God, by again trusting everything to Him – all your sorrows and pain. He will make you whole.
One thing that comes to mind is when they asked Jesus about the man blind from birth (John 9:2-3): “His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither he nor his parents sinned; it is so that the works of God might be made visible through him.” ”
So if we didn’t face any hardships, then there would be no need to do good things for God, and we’d never see God’s glory, and we’d never seek God, as we’d live in a perfect world (ignorant bliss, perhaps as in the Garden of Eden).
If you were creating a world, would you make it perfect so all your creatures would be perfectly happy and without suffering, but would never know you or need you? Or would you let them choose, live with their own crap, then continually try to save them from it?
For all the evil, death, and destruction caused by one man, Hitler, there were just as many or more people doing God’s will, sacrificing themselves to save others. Good things can come out of terrible evil and suffering; life from death. That is God at work. He allows the suffering (again probably due to giving us free will or just allowing nature to do it’s thing), then brings you closer to Him and away from it, if you allow Him to heal your pain, and if enough people allow God’s will be done through them.
I know you don’t accept the concept of original sin, or corruption of men, since you are angry about the story of the serpent and the tree of life. Man is perfect. Who needs God, right? Let’s just be angry about everything bad in the world (heck, let’s blame God for it all!), how unfair everything is, and not let go of anything. Who needs forgiveness, who needs love, who needs healing? If you deny God, you’re missing out on a lot.

The first fire used by man was created by a lightning bolt, after all. Secondly: life is random, UNFAIR and CRUEL because of….RANDOM CHANCE! See how this works?
Over and over, you guys claim a god is manipulating and controlling things. At the same time, this god is RANDOM and UNFAIR and CRUEL. Pretending what happens to people and things is due to gods while at the same time, claiming that these gods are OK with this to ‘teach us a lesson’ is CRUEL as well as UNFAIR: namely, poor people get nastier lessons than rich people, for example.
Billions of people pray to Lady Luck even if they refuse to see they are doing this. ‘Please, god, give me the winning ticket’ is a common prayer. Of course, this is addressed to various and sundry human-created gods who are supposed to manipulate random chance and change it into winnings. Ahem. Think about this for a few minutes. This is an interesting topic to me since the random chance of being hit by lightning not once but 3 times while indoors is vanishingly small.
And thus, amusing to me. If my disembodied spirit is the cause of all this, then I must be a goddess. Of sorts. So, watch out. You may have to end up worshipping me. 🙂 🙂

The answer is Illusion, Maya, Duality. We are all in a play of Illusion. Temporality. Impermanence. Anything that is not permanent IS an illusion. Why I would claim otherwise is insanity but I will let that pass for the moment (remember, I endorse scientific thought, not the opposite!). If you imagine your mind is doing it, this is self centered. The flag waves whether or not you look at it. It doesn’t freeze in place when you turn your head away. All things have their own existence whether or not they are observed by mere humans.
Wishful thinking can fool humans. Humans work very, very hard to fool themselves. But in the bitter end, the forces of physics and nature overwhelm all attempts at imagining stuff. That is, we can believe this or that but when we finally die, we come face to face with stark reality.
When I write about the Cave of Wealth and Death, I am giving fanciful names and fake personalities to real physical and natural forces which are unescapable. People wish to believe they can escape these forces and the fear of death makes us very uneasy so we invent religious thinking systems so we can live life without going insane with fear. So we do ritualistic things that comfort our own minds. This puts aside obvious despair.
Animals don’t need to do these rituals because they are always seeking to simply survive. They want to have babies. This is the imperative laws of immutable natural forces that arose a billion years ago when Life began. Evolution is the great force at work here, evolution of stars, of galaxies, of the Big Bang, of all forces that act upon physical things like atoms.

I agree with you that either there is a supreme power (God) controlling things in mysterious ways, or else the universe is totally random, impersonal, and we imagine things to give us the illusion of control over our world. I understand your perspective. However, nobody knows for sure (although those that experience God feel otherwise), and there is no harm in believing in God. In fact, it is beneficial, even if the belief is false. I still don’t know why you think otherwise, and why you think religion and believing in God is bad. Science doesn’t provide any better answers. What is the origin of the universe? of life on earth? of the human mind?
