Watching Murdoch, right on the cusp of gaining nearly total control over vast swaths of English-speaking media systems, going down with his yacht, is most amusing. Like many such predatory capitalists, he gained his economic power via bribing and corrupting the political system and the police systems. Then, as per all classic situations, hubris set in. On the heels of hubris comes vengeance and the ancient people of yore knew this and we should know this, too.

All media systems are prone to story telling on behalf of whoever controls that media which is why it is important to read or view media from all over the world including significantly, communist China. I used to read Pravda back when it was illegal (privileges of the elites is to access media forbidden to others) and it was extremely useful because it was full of lies about Russia but full of true information about CIA operations in other countries and it gave real news about the third world in general. Not to mention, it had real news about America periodically, too.

The Rupert Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal has dismissed the phone-hacking scandal as a row perpetuated by its business competitors, in a controversial editorial.
The approach is sure to anger those who feel that News Corp is not genuinely apologetic for the scandal.
The paper wrote that its competitors are using the row “to assail the Journal and perhaps injure press freedom in general”.
It goes on: “We trust that readers can see through the commercial and ideological motives of our competitor-critics. The schadenfreude is so thick you can’t cut it with a chainsaw.”
The article even goes on to attack the Guardian and the BBC for their coverage of the scandal.

Murdoch is all about censorship, not press freedom. His organization refuses to cover important news or worse, lies about salient facts and is designed to increase support for the rich and tear down the poor. It is anti-human in profound ways. Mercilessly cruel when it comes to say, torture or killing Muslims in their homes. It is designed to egg people into committing crimes!

The gleeful Labor party is happily making demands that Rupert Murdoch’s empire must be dismantled – Ed Miliband. The mayor of London is going to see his own head on a spike in the Bridge if he doesn’t watch out as Labor demands that Boris Johnson must not be allowed to avoid difficult questions over phone hacking. Last of all, there is no honor amongst thieves and so the top cop nailed by this scandal, Sir Paul Stephenson, is turning on David Cameron. Shades of Watergate! Let it flood the Thames and sweep out the government!

The tevee has limited its focus to hacking victims like royals, celebrities and 9/11 victims, The public being led to believe this is about scooping stories. That is the “chinese wall” Murdoch hopes we believe is the motive.
Wonder if old rupert was hacking into diplomats, politicans, financial players as well. Why wouldn’t he…they obviously have capabilities and NO scruples. NOT even mentioned in the press.
