China’s Three Gorges Dam Could Collapse!

Epic rain on the Yangtze River is causing rising fear the new Three Gorges Dam might collapse. These fears are reasonable!  The dam was built with inferior materials (surprise!) and already has serious bends and jigs in the once straight line of the dam.  This will be a major catastrophe for China.  At the exact same time, the Chinese troops on the borders of India retreated back to their designated borders.

Here is the dam under construction with no lake of water behind it: note how very straight it is.

Here is a satellite photo of the dam after only a decade of use.  Note how wavy the dam’s line is, some offset by very significant degrees of bend:

A close up of the lower end of the dam:

No one would design a dam with this degree of waviness!  Everything is crooked.  Titanic pressures are at work here.

The upper end is also very wavy, too.  This is super scary.  I know people who live in Shanghai which is downstream from this looming disaster.  Note that Hoover Dam is much, much shorter a span:

After over half a century of use, it is still very straight.  The Three Gorges Dam has a much, much longer profile and was poorly built.  It is a classic case of poor methods, poor construction choices causing great dangers.

While looking up this story, I just stumbled up on news video from India about a small battle over a smaller dam in the Himalayan mountains between India and China that caused some problems for the UN just this last week.  Evidently, according to the Indian government, China has retreated suddenly. Is this connected to the huge floods in the Shanghai area?

Here is a hilarious headline from a communist Chinese newspaper: PLA reveals live-fire drill in eastern Tibet mountains as China-India border dispute claims at least 20 lives | South China Morning Post

So, the ‘drill’ ended up killing a bunch of people?  Interesting!

This geological region which has Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and China clashing is a clash of cultures, religions, political systems in the highest degree and nearly nonstop wars, battles, incursions, insurrections and crazy stuff.

This skirmish over the Galwan Valley is a potential trigger for a much bigger war.  China’s efforts at being the ‘nice’ power has collapsed as they now play hardball with South Korea, Japan, the USA, of course, Taiwan, India and even Russia.  This is typical of China: turn every ally into enemies and then freak out.

It is nearly all high mountains that are nearly uninhabitable.  Below is the kink in the main river where the Chinese controlled river meet:

Stupid guy hanging out at the Chaz/Chop new country estates claims that KKK guys, not crazy leftist lunatics, shot him the other day during a dead of night black riot there.

A man critically injured in one of the shootings inside Seattle’s chaotic, cop-free CHAZ claims it was a hate crime committed by racist infiltrators who dropped the N-word.

DeJuan Young told KIRO 7 that he was fleeing the sound of gunshots from where a teenager was shot dead early Saturday when he was accosted by at least four men who dropped a racial slur when they shot him.

“I’m not sure if they’re Proud Boys or KKK,” Young told the station of the attack in the so-called “Capital Hill Autonomous Zone.”

“But the verbiage that they said was, ‘Hold this n—r’ — and shot me.”

Black males call each other ‘n’ word constantly.  This is their main form of self-reference.  They scream this at rap events, they yell this in the streets, it is one of the commonest words in their very limited vocabulary alongside ‘whore’ and ‘bitch.’

Also, who on earth ‘holds’ someone and then shoots them?  Illogical as well as a stupid story for this guy to make up but then the entire DNC has gone totally stupid.

Right on the heels of false noose allegations by a half black race driver who decided to be a race divider instead, we get one of the many rioters running wild in Seattle’s Chop commune falsely claiming, after waiting a few days to compose his story, that a bunch of KKK people were in the area and they shot him as he ran away from blacks shooting at each other as per usual.

This is utterly insane and totally funny at the same time.  He couldn’t blame the cops, they are no where to be seen!  The NY Post is having a fun time with this interview:

“And they stood over top of me and continued to fire,” he said. “I tried to protect myself and got shot in the arm,” he claimed of the assailants who apparently managed to disappear afterwards.

HAHAHA.  Imagine gun totting KKK guys shooting repeatedly at a guy lying on the ground and only hitting him once in the arm!

“I’m positive this was a hate crime,” he told King 5 news in a separate interview.  Volunteers in the zone — also known as “CHOP,” or Capitol Hill Organized Protest — rushed him to the hospital because emergency services struggled to access the controversial area.

Young says he is angry at the lack of help from cops — even though he concedes keeping them away was central to the protest.

These people in Chopsuey City are like very little children.  They take zero responsibility for themselves, their own choices and their own actions.  They want everyone else to function as normal while they get to run riot.  These adult infants attacked the police when they tried to come in and give aid.  There is video proof of all this.

The Chinese are not stupid at all, they just have very bad, quite corrupt rulers and leaders who insist on doing the wrong things over and over again.  I feel sorry for them.  Ditto, the black community that follows white liberals right off the cliff, too.  Bad leaders can be fatal.

ummm , i think its the photos that are waving , note how even the small structures are bent without apparent damage

good point, snoosebomb. must be some kind of artifact in the satellite picture. if the dam were really bent that much, it would have already failed.

as for the Hoover Dam, it was never straight. it is a catenary arc, or whatever shape the engineers came up with. water pressure on the dam works in favor of the dam, like an arch in a stone building.

  3. Could be the satellite.

OK: I looked and looked at long structures on Google earth and didn’t see that sort of distortion happen all the time like in this case. It could be the ‘tweeks’ are exaggerated by the satellite but there may be a problem. I can’t tell for certain.

How dumb do they think we are? A group of KKK and Proud Boys got into the Chaz and shot this guy. That’s about as believable as the KKK or Proud Boys getting past security at the Nascar garage to plant a noose. Tell me another one. Again falling back on their only argument, you’re racist and I’m not. More trash, different day.

Back when we were children, Elaine, the satellites looking back at earth (spy satellites) would take pictures with film, and send a little capsule back to earth with a parachute. Later satellites would run the film through chemicals to develop it in space, and then scan the film, and radio the pictures back.

    Those days are long gone.

Since the 70s or late 60s, spacecraft have simply pointed their sensors back at earth, and scanned it directly. No pictures are involved. It’s faster that way, but then they have to put the images together back on earth, and they have to correct for all the little wibble-wobbles in the atmosphere as well as the satellite whizzing by whatever it was looking at, at 20,000 miles an hour.

One of the funniest ‘UFO’ analyses I have seen was from someone looking at weather satellite data.. Whoever was looking at it claimed that all the little black triangles were some sort of weird spacecraft zipping across the Pacific Ocean. They would move around from one scan to the next …

I recognized the black triangles as places that the satellites missed in their scanning — the images could easily have filled in with blue, so you wouldn’t notice them, but they chose black for the areas in between scans. Of course, the UFOlogists would not listen to my explanation, but it was amusing to me. The ‘pictures’ they were looking at were never really snapshots, they were assembled from digital sensor data.

    Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy?

  7. Yet all my wandering around the earth sites similar to that dam didn’t show anything remotely near the distortions. Try it. Google lists of biggest dams, biggest bridges, etc. and see what you find. I DID THIS.

It would be a really big deal if it failed. Doesn’t that dam have the biggest body of water behind it, of all the planet’s dams?

And, I certainly do not know why it looks so rubbery, it was merely a suggestion.

Usually Google’s satellite imagery is amazingly detailed and precise. I can see my own car in my driveway with good reliability.

  9. snoosebomb

according to the vid the structure is not anchored to the bedrock ! , thats a problem

  10. There is tremendous force on the dam due to flooding now.

OMG..And you loaned Chiang Kai – Shek $$$$.

I’ve done technical work with aerial photos and terrain modelling (TIN and GRID) and the wiggling baseline of the dam looks like imagery being stretched to fit the 3D terrain model by the way it wiggles to match to contours. (Could also be stretched to fit into a photo mosaic as well.) The dam is so large is gets stretched too. No dam will move that much and remain intact.

But the flood is a big worry especially with the comments by the hydrologist expert.

  13. It was admitted to being a mistake by Google. They corrected it. As I noted, no other structure had that image problem, only the Chinese site had it for some reason.

  14. Jim R

    @JimmyJ,

I had that thought after making my previous comment. If I look at Elaine’s mountain with Google, and then enable 3d viewing, I do not see her house in 3d. It looks like a flat picture that has been pasted on the shape of the mountain, because the topographic data does not include the house/trees, etc.

The Chinese dam picture is probably a flat satellite image from above, slapped onto old topographic data of the river valley from before the dam was built.

  15. Once upon a time, you COULD see everything properly but then the government demanded it all be reduced greatly. I remember back 15 years ago, it worked perfectly. The satellites run by the CIA can see a paper cup on a table.
