New York Post has an interesting story that I’m not able to link to for some reason, about some billionaire donors to Columbia (Robert Kraft and Leon Cooperman are named) who’ve stopped donating during these protests. But the billionaires say they aren’t calling for the president to resign yet because they have contacts at the school and prefer to work with her if possible. They must have noticed that the harsh crackdown is actually energizing students at Columbia and elsewhere.
The head of the Anti Defamation League also released a video message advising Columbia’s president to take more steps against the students, but he didn’t yet call for her resignation either.
Stefanik is out ahead of them all, leading a delegation of Republicans demanding that the president resign.
It’s rare to see a news story about this explain that the students are pushing for their universities to divest from Israel. Not a single story I’ve seen discusses that as a viable option.
